Big Show! After the Basque dance stage (fandango and Carnaval de Lantz) held at the Terrazza di Ponticella, teacher Beatrice Pignolo throws herself into a fandango with Raffaele Rizzello (saxophonist and singer of "Sbanda Ballet"), accompanied by Rinaldo Doro on the accordion.

📖 FANDANGO!
Fandango is a Spanish style of music; the term also distinguishes the homonymous dance in ternary rhythm (3/4 or 6/8), which is danced in pairs and is accompanied by castanets and guitar and, sometimes, sung.
The fandangos grandes (great fandanghi) are normally danced in pairs and start slowly with an increasing trend.
The fandanguillos (small fandanghi) are among the liveliest and most joyful derivations of the fandango. Some regions of Spain and Portugal have developed their own style of this dance, such as in Huelva (fandangos de Huelva) and Malaga (fandangos de Malaga or Verdiales).
Fandango has often been used in cultured European music to create Spanish colourways.
The ternary time, the octonary verses (octosílabos) and the frequent use of castanets mark a close link with the jota. The most common harmonic descending sequence (A minor, G major, F major, E major) is an ostinato motif known since the end of the Baroque.
