Only black to EVER use now is MUSUO BLACK. There is literally no darker black on the market and it makes legit all other blacks look grey. Also, easier mods to do are buying a metal shock bumper to replace the plastic one and you can use the same metal rod (BenofKent on etsy) you can get the Wand and mod it to an 84' wand with a few clip on 3d printed wand grips, and then all the connectors etc can literally just be painted to the right color. Also, the electronics are not 6v, the pull 6v of power for the batteries but are resisted to 5v which is why it's so easy to slap a battery pack to it
I have a 84 modded wand at home. I used resin grips that I casted a few years ago, when I was casting packs and parts. However, I am going to get the 3D printed grips from Harrison for one of my wands. Those are pretty slick. I didn’t know that about the electronics. Makes sense. Good to know!
makes me wonder if anyone has or ever will use the pack to create molds or castings, considering its scanned from the movie witch used reproductions of the original 84 packs
It’s not perfect. Each pack is individual to each buster. The original 4 packs were not identical and had slight differences even if small. Egon built them by hand. Wouldn’t want mine to be identical to anyone else’s! However I’m not going to mod mine as I am not as handy with this type of stuff, so mine will be identical. Great video!
Have to ask, after painting, did it lighten up at all? I was considering painting mine to match more with my 84 grips on my Spengler wand but worry it’ll look too black.
Nope. You can take a gloss paint job and spray flat clear coat over it and it will make it flat. I would go with a matte or flat black paint for a base coat. That’s what I’m doing on my next pack. I just did one of my friends packs and used a flat black and it looks awesome.
Very ballsy to walk into a store without the orange tip on the wand. Could have caused a swatting situation. How else are people going to know that it's not an actual fully functioning Proton Pack.
The stock hasbro does leave a lot to be desired. It’s technically a GB1 style cable they were going for, but just kind of poorly executed. I should probably order a fincher ribbon cable for it.

The packs shouldn’t be that flat of a black tho. Should have a very slight sheen. I’m thinking matte black or satin but satin comes out shiny

It didn’t change. I had to spray it down with a flat clear coat. That took care of it. Now it looks proper.
