Kent Howerton kicked major ass on one of these RM250’s in 1980 AMA Nationals!! Great looking machines!!

I’ve got 3 79’ Japanese motocrossers, the RM, KX and the Elsinore. All 250’s.
They are pampered like crazy as I have rebuilt them as close to original as possible. So lots of $$$ invested.
They are race ready and look so good sitting on their stands. I ride them at a track and they attract plenty of attention. Telling the story of this time in motocross history to the youngsters is great fun and I’ve let one take a spin on the KX just so he could see how these things felt.
    Keep them running!!!!

I remember the 1988 RM250 on the showroom floor it was AWESOME -- Suzuki was awesome back in the day!

Telford, my absolute favourite classic bike show. So friendly, we've met people and got to know them over the years. And just down the road for us.

@@monticlassictv Thanks Chris, I've just watched them. Plenty of bikes I missed. As you said, two days isn't enough time to see everything and to yak with the people we know.

I have had a few RM's. 1977 370, awesome then a RM400 not bad then the RM500 very good. Went to the 1986 RM250 fun bike but could definitely use more power and finally a 1990 RM250 excellent motorcycle.

Love my 1976 Suzuki RM250A. First year that Suzuki introduced the 250 to the RM line

My first and only motorcycle was a 1979 Suzuki RM80. New it was $609.18 OTD. The day I had got it was the happiest day of my childhood. I have wanted one my whole adult life to restore. I got my chance last year and was finally forced to realize it would just be another thing I would have to move out of the way all the time. Some of the graphics don't match year of the bikes.the 400 has 1980 graphics. The first RM250 has 79 graphics on the tank and 1980 graphics on the side panel.

Hey do you know if any of the late 70s early 80s rm cases are interchangeable? Like a 1980 rm250 and 400 engine cases are the same?
