I had 45 radiation treatments. At about 6 months after treatment had a tiny bit of blood in the urine. Other than that no major side effects. Thank God!
2012 I had 45 proton radiation treatments at Loma Linda University Hospital. No blood in the urine and other than sexual dysfunction I have done pretty well. I do take a maintenance dose of Cialis that actually helps with urinating. Thank you for the informative video.
Love your talks…been a year since radiation…have a tad of blood ..they did a test for infection…no other news…learn more from you then from them…went off hormone and just got testosterone injections..have to get body back to the way it was…need muscles back…thanks a bunch..nice to see very smart people….love your ties toooo…
Finished my Radiotherapy for low grade prostate cancer contained within prostate now 7 months later I have blood in my urine no one told me about long term effects and potential for blood in my urine
I had blood in my urine after just 10 treatments and still 18 to go. My doctor recognized that the bladder stones (garden of stones) should have been removed before treatment. Week #3 I had my stone garden removed! To say I was in excruciating pain for 5 weeks is an understatement.
Another great video. This morning I had my second radiation treatment. I’m feeling a little change in my urinary function, with pressure and having to urinating more frequently. Thank you.
It will irritate the bladder but hopefully your radiation oncologist is checking in with you regularly about any problems you are experiencing. I had the typical side effects but felt fine a couple weeks after the last treatment. The 7 weeks really flew by.
@@markbrownfield437when I mentioned my concern to my radiologist about urinary problems while I'm going through radiation treatments he shrugged and said you might need a catheter. Omg
Just now going through the same and no body said anything about this type of damage. Why not. Very negligent of my radiation people to not tell someone this.
My husband is experiencing blood in his urine after having had radiation for prostate cancer 3 years ago. He is apparently an extreme case; he went to the ER over half a dozen times when he couldn’t pee cause the blood was clotting. He has now had a catheter in for months and has been to almost 40, 2 hour sessions in the hyperbaric chamber. He is still seeing blood in his urine and they are going to extend his treatments. Do you have any additional suggestions for what he can be doing? What was the drug that might be helpful? Angela in California
I got a very small blood clot and bleed about 2 and a half years after the radiation i got the scope and i bleed the next day but nothing more, for my opinion on if the scope was worth it, The scope involved a short appointment with my urologist laying down getting a little Novocain and some blood in my urine the next day with no discomfort other than as my doctor said the scope feels like peeing backwards
7 months ago my husband finished radiation therapy of the prostrate bed and is now seeing blood in the urine including clots. The first urinalysis came back clean but was given antibiotics. a month later he saw blood again and this time the urine analysis showed a UTI. He was given another type of antibiotics and it stated to clear up but with some blood showing up every few days during the 10 day treatment. My husband is worried. Is this to be expected or is this common or normal with a UTI after radiation
Finished IMRT treatment over a year ago. I started having painful urination with a little blood in it about a week ago. I assumed a UTI (never had one before) ended up going to urgent care where they took a ct scan that showed a thickening of the bladder wall. A little blood, I'm ok with it. The inability to pee more that a couple of tablespoons while it burns like acid is not encouraging.
Hope you can help . My husband just had TURP procedure 9 days ago. He was in hospital prior to this with renal failure, due to high BPH levels and backed up urine. Once catheder was placed in, his levels went right back to normal, until surgery date.. He has now had the surgery and catheder was removed 4 days ago. He is experiencing chronic fatique again, and his creatinine levels has risen 30 points...is it normal for creatinine levels to fluctuate post surgery?, or should he go back to hospital or contact urologist surgeon?..please please help.
I also had radiation and used space oar I go fine and once in a blue moon I see a faint of light red But psa and urine have been great It’s so faint that it’s even hard to see it more yellow tinge
I had radiotherapy for prostate cancer around 2 years ago and every so often maybe once every 2 months I feel a discharge of fresh blood in my stools. This goes away after a few hours and I have had an all clear from the colon cancer hospital where you send back a sample of your stool. Should I be worried?
My husband had 26 rounds of radiation 2 years ago, too. About 6 months or so after he finished the treatment, he started getting some blood in the stool. The bleeding did get progressively worse and more frequent over time, quite unpredictable and bothersome. A subsequent colonoscopy at the Mayo Clinic determined that he had radiation proctitis, which is uncommon and can be tricky to treat. (Sometimes it can go away on its own.). After a few different remedies failed, they performed an Argon plasma coagulation procedure that has been successful. If you haven't had a colonoscopy in awhile, you might consider it as the doctor can find the source of the problem.
This is so informative, three should be Doctors giving you these info ... I had seen a little blood in my Urine after abt 2mths of Radiotheraphy...I was worries but as I realised by this video it happens after this procedure
I have been having blood in my stool, stool is covered with mucus. started about 2 weeks ago. I finished my radiation treatment about 6 months ago. Is this normal ? What can I do about this.
@@SimonSayez-kz5tu No. It probably was the radiation for prostate cancer that caused the bladder cancer. It happens 1-3% of the time, but usually takes a few years to happen.
The decision between surgery and radiation has to be made on an individual basis. I’ve had a lot of problems from the radiation, but the most important thing is that my PSA remains less than 0.01.
I am prone to having kidney stones. I cannot imagine having radiation that most certainly affects the ureter after this. But I am undergoing radiation, and yes living in fear of this.
Wish i had not went through 30 lower pelvic radiation. I have blood, blood clots, have been in and out of the hospital many times. My advice, don't do it.
Finished 9 weeks of IMRT in June 2023. No one ever told me about this. So glad I’m hearing about it now.

I called about the Prost ox test. They told me only for SBRT. Not available for IMRT ? Did you guys know this ?

I had SBRT and developed stricture which was opened with a balloon dilation so far so good but I am scared of recurrence.

I had colon cancer and not all at home tests are 100% correct. I recommend you get a colonoscopy.

Ended PBRT 9 months prior. Gross hematuria to the point of clot retention. Cystoscopy = radiation cystitis AND bladder cancer.
Are you saying a cystoscopy caused bladder cancer?

I'm going through 44 treatments and very worried as I can tell differences in urination and bowel changes. My nightmare.
Is blood in semen normal after SBRT?
