X would’ve beat pac down and made him clean his timbs, x was a real Grimey NY dude pac was a ballerina who walked out on stage in leopard underwear don’t ever mention him in the same sentence as X.
I’m from Camden, NJ… and I was on punishment an entire summer for sneaking out and going to Philly for the Hard Knock Life Tour show. Totally worth it. That was the first of four times I saw X live. Nothing came even close! The last show was a smaller venue in Pennsylvania later on. I was right up front. He came out wyld late, but again… absolutely worth it. He passed around a big a$$ bottle of Henny with explicit instructions to sip once then pass. The only other rule was that we couldn’t kill it. I don’t drink, but it was dope to watch.
Summer Jam 2000 was the only time I saw DMX perform live. I was 15 and my uncle took me as a surprise. The best concert experience I've ever had. And DMX CRUSHED IT!!!
@@aligaines8476 The dead cannot see the living, just like we that's living cannot see the dead, but if all those people were alive would we even see this event? It would be good though if we had all these greats in harmony on one stage, but unfortunately not in this life.
Yes that's why Jayz.....didn't give him love.....cause he knew he was too better than him........overly better my brother........and very real too..........
Man NY is so soo hiphop! I'm from the west coast and didn't really grasp the feeling in the air until I first went there in 2002. Now I know. Nothing surpasses NY in the realm of hiphop... in that era!! These tunnel videos really show you how it was!!
The way DMX brought them out plus the crowd reaction was legendary, I wish the L.O.X could've did something similar in that versus battle against Dipset #RIPDMX
It don't make sense why people bring up the year does the video look like the time you talking about no so shut up with that it's 2021 bullshit it's stupid as hell
Hahahaha!!!! I didn't want to believe X callin out the pups, but yeah, it makes sense ... And today the pups carrying the Boss Dog's legacy like Dogs "woof woof woof"!!!!!
It’s sad that hip hop hasn’t been this dope since. 1992-2005 were the best years. That wasn’t no act either them dudes kept that same energy after the show on the streets. DMX and The LOX put Yonkers on the map and showed they were up there with the best emcees in NYC and the whole east coast. That shit made me wanna rap yo literally
Yeah the mid to late 90’s were to real. Now you got these rappers in tight jeans rapping all high pitch in their voice and moaning. Like say it with your chest!!
Damn life doesn't feel right without the Dog DMX...How this brother carried the Ruff Riders and the industry through the late 90's into the 2000's...Rest In Power my brother I cried like I lost a family member when we lost you X.
He took himself away from us though. Bro died from a coke overdose smh. Like come on fam you leaving behind mad kids, your ppls and your fans for nothing smh
Hearing DMX adlibs over this track makes it tens times harder. Rip DMX. The LOX was dope under Bad Boy but they got way better under the Rough Ryders Era. Puffy was a fool to sign the LOX and pass up on DMX. Diddy couldn't mold DMX'S image enough to make him a big pop rap star like how he did some other rappers like Ma$e or was trying to do with Biggie with the shiny suit smiley ish. Mad respect to the LOX for holding it down for decades, that Versuz battle was an instant monumental moment in Hip Hop history, sucks DMX wasn't alive to jump in and destroy Dipset further.
@David R Heard members of the LOX speak on it on interviews as well as DMX talking on it. Diddy told The Warlocks that they were gonna be the LOX and told them they couldn't bring X along. Diddy told X personally as well that he wasn't feeling DMX's whole style from what I remember X saying. You can look things up before calling B.S. I didn't make it up, it came from the mouths of the people I named originally, The LOX and DMX. Do your homework before dissing. Respect to you even though you showed none.
@David R It wasn't that DMX was trying to sign to Bad Boy but that the LOX were signing their deal and they tried to bring X along to hook him up but Puffy said he couldn't work with DMX because he was too Rough, Raw and Grimey, things like that.
@David R Here you go, I heard X talk about it on Drink Champs and here are quotes from an article about that Drink Champs episode: While the “How’s It Goin’ Down” rapper joined N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN for an interview on their “Drink Champs” podcast, Dark Man X took a trip down memory lane and shared how he almost had the opportunity to sign to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, but he initially turned X down for this reason. “One thing I respect about Puff is that at least he told me to my face what he felt,” he began. “[Ruff Ryders executive] Dee told Puff, ‘If you like the Lox, you’re gonna love X.’ I spit, or whatever, and he was like, ‘His voice too rough and you’re not marketable.’ [I] didn’t like it, but I had to respect it.” It wasn’t until Def Jam laid their offer on the table to sign X that Diddy decided to take back his initial decision. “He was like, ‘I’ll lace your pockets. I’ll double what they gave you and lace your pockets,” he said.
That's what I'm saying. Even if he didn't spit a verse and was just in the background doing adlibs it would've been even more epic than it already was. They destroyed Dipset, DMX would've just added heavily to that destruction.
I had this whole show on cassette...man I use to wreck my tape deck on this 1998 was hella legendary for a high school kid only to realise its still my fav year in hiphop mostly because of DMX's two albums that year ...sleep well King 👑🙏 🔥🔥🔥
X energy would’ve had the building going crazy at the verzuz. RIP to one of the greatest to ever touch a microphone. He was just different man. Just look at that crowd.
I can see why Lox did my Dips that dirty , they from a whole different era and been doing this too long , I gotta respect it , X had crazy charisma to go along with the lyrics n stage presence

it was 1998, phones were bigger than turntables hahaha

DMX killed it

This is where jada learned to carry the team. Dmx taught him well

Biggie taught the LOX, DMX took the baton and brought them in after Diddy fucked them over when BIG passed.
Actually kiss said they learned how to rock the stage from Diddy on the no way out tour lol
@@TheRealist2024 you know they was runnin with X way before they even met Big n Diddy right?

X would’ve most definitely been at the Lox Verzuz Dipset ..
You'd better believe he, Pac, Big, Big L, Rob, all those we lost were looking down. I can't imagine.
