I watch this again and again as much for pt. rajan sajan mishra ji's singing as for pt. Yavgalji's tabla. Beautiful theka and lay rightly appreciated by pt. rajan sajan mishra ji in the beginning of the video.
Early in the morning, go to a quiet, beautiful, serene place, put on the headphones/ earphones to your listening device, close your eyes, take a meditating posture and listen to this- YOU WILL TRANSCEND TO A HEIGHT OF PURE PEACE AND HAPPINESS- That will happen and you would have had your meeting with Bhagwan/Ishwar/God in person. Simply, this is divine. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
With due respects to Mr Clem, I would like to point out that when the drut bandish(faster composition) starts off, the tabla player is given some aavartans(cycles) to show his skills which contribute to the bandish :) One can see at 1:08, where Rajanji signals the tabla player, my guruji, Yavagalji, to play some aavartans and he takes off at 1:10 , with Rajanji's nod appreciating his take off :) The main artistes were given applauds many a time during the performance, as I myself, was part of the audience then :)
Clem they might looked pissed to you my friend. Rajan Ji clearly hand signaled the Tabla player and the player did an excellent job with his short piece which was rightly complemented by the audience.
Clem, I became little curious about your comment and reviewed around 1:10, you mean the flourish might have been bit unexpected by Pt. Rajan/Sajan ji? May be, but overall Tabla play is quite subdued and in fact at 1:27 I see Rajan ji complimenting Yavgal ji on completion of the three avartan (cycle i.e. 48 beats for Teentaal) flourish, AFAIK that is the most the main artist will typically do, not clap with audience. But I am just an intermediate tabla student so take what I say with a grain of salt..
PraNaam .... Adieu Panditji... may your music now enrich the heavens...🙏🏼

Anybody know anything about the lyricist....I heard the name Ram Dass...anybody?
Bade Ram Das Mishra of Benaras gharana, who was their grandfather and their guru/ustad as well.
They looked pissed off when the Tabla went off on one around 1:10 Typical audience claps Tabla but not main artist......
They didn't get pissed off. Infact it was Rajan ji who asked him to take that round. And u see them appreciating him for that after his completion
