One tip that I humbly like to add is, expect bruises, pain and mistakes. This is not to let you fear the play but it's to let you know it's ok. It's ok to be hit hard sometimes or to get a wrong punch that is harder than it should be. It's a tough game so be tough.
Tip two, leave you emotions out, all of them (partners) are brothers in the gym. Hard feelings are not allowed. Give him five and it's gone.

I have to disagree with that, I used to think this way when I first started I got good at boxing really quick, and 8 months in I decided to have MMA sparing with another beginner who has a wrestling background and hits very hard, up until this point I had boxing and kickboxing sparing sessions but not full on mma, we spared for a long time and I went home happy, but apparently I took too many shots to the head in the clinch, I sustained some brain damage, I'm not gonna get into that subject, but it's one of the scariest things that can happen to anyone, so if you're a beginner please don't be too tough for your own good.
Floyd Mayweather says it best; the less you get hit the more you can last, so make it your number one priority not to get hit clean on the head.

If you got hit so often and hard clinching during an ordinary sparring in the gym, I guess your coach has some responsibility of organization and check during his own lessons.
In the mma gym I have classes with constant checkings especially during sparring.

One of the biggest things for myself, especially in kickboxing, is accepting that some movements will feel "wrong" and can make one feel silly. Disregard this feeling! Driving a car surely felt awkward at first.

I’m having strong thoughts of joining mma. Right now I feel skinny and want to build on stamina and just to straight up fight. I love it and I always have just have never done it in an organized fashion. I can say that I genuinely enjoy feeling the pain of a fight. Now I’m aware I’m gonna get my ass absolutely kicked my first time in the gym but I feel really pretty comfortable after training at home for a couple months. Can anyone give me any good reasons to join?

Have you tried it out? People that feel that they can naturally fight have that confidence you need while fighting. It’s not really a sport, but a straight fight lol get a fighter with technique and great MMA mind you got a champ

Too old for what? For becoming a UFC champion - I don't know, and it's not just about age.
For becoming your best self - never. In a few years of constant training you will not recognize yourself.

Hi, I have a boy who is very passionate about contact sports (wrestling, muay thai, boxing, MMA) He is 7 years old. I wanted to ask you to tell me what would be the best way to develop his motor skills and to become a complete fighter (if he likes it and further) what would be the order of sports he should follow to develop completely. What should we fill the window of opportunity with between 7 and 10 years old? Thank you!

What motor skills or other things could they better develop now, between 6 and 10 years old, to become a good fighter (which would be harder to develop after that age)? What exactly should we focus on to get the best out of those 3-4 years? Specifically what should and shouldn't we do? Thank you!

Unless life and limb is on the agenda, or loved ones, walk away. But be sure of this, you push it too far, oh zi might just destroy you. And i"m not talking nice stuff, like release my inner beast.
