I like the use of the speed controller.
Just use your drill press for drum sanding, or the lathe (turn a drum any size ) make a vertical fence with a hole for the drum to pass through and attach to the bed of the lathe.

I was hoping it was going to be a coffee grinder. I could use a cup of mud while watching this guy do some unsafe things in the shop.
You can get rubber mounts off the shelf with M6, M8 or M10 bolts welded to either side. Soft wood drilled to tapping size will accept the bolts. Just drill and screw them in or you could run a taper tap part way down to speed things up. Female or male/female versions are also available.

Acho que essa caixa toda fechada favorece o aquecimento rápido do motor, podendo danificá-lo rápido. Poderia ter feito para adaptar rolos de diferentes espessuras. Mas a ideia é boa e seu trabalho é bem feito. Parabéns!

Ya got all those store bought tools to make the home made sanding drum, why not just buy a store bought oscillating sanding drum. Just sayin.

While this project seems quite useless, you do know its possible to use tools you buy more than once, and many people even already have a lot of tools?
Nice Job. For those complaining about Engine vs motor, remember, English may not be his 1st language, so cut him some slack! I thought he did very well with an old motor most would have thrown away.
So now he knows the difference. There is no harm in correcting someone politely.
It would be a motor in every country on the planet!!

Hmmm,so I need a washing machine motor,wood,wiring,control board about 10k worth of tools and a days work?or I can just go B&Q and buy a sander for £20.
Add to that a controller for the motor they failed totally to cover that aspect most decent washing machines have motors that require rotor and stator control but that was not covered at all
Dont forget the most difficult part to find....the engine

Hi. I have the same motor and I wish to make sander machine. In 4:18 of video, you glued wood to metal. What do you think, is it strong and safe enough to stay that way? On such a part, I would like to attach a plate, to which sandpaper would be attached.

You do know you can do it with a drill, angle grinder and some saw, just not so clean, right?

I think I would of went to Harbor Fright or Amazon and just bought a regular drum sander. But that's just me...

Сделано с умением. Только на фига. Столько станков и такая непонятная приблуда. Мотор можно было и для чего-нибудь путного приспособить.
Кроме того и не технологично. Наждачку что, каждый раз наклеивать на вал. Это все равно, что для натирания одной маленькой морковки доставать кухонный комбайн а потом его мыть и разбирать.
@@dmitrylyskov68 , просто в прорези на барабане надо просверлить отверстие и наждачку крепить саморезом. Если наждачка забивается, чистим её засохшим силиконовым герметиком.
@@user-fw6zh4kt2b герметик силиконовый, да ещё сушёный), если саморез, значит паз широкий, да и натяжку наждачки трудно будет обеспечить. Не убедили. С уважением
