Interesting. This is why you need to sweep targets twice at 90 degrees. The Gold Bug 2 shows this nulling effect with rusty nails in iron discrimination mode. You need to have a positive response in both directions to possibly have a gold nugget. One direction can be ambiguous because a nail being swept sees too little of the coil when it is lined up in the same plane as the sweep.
It is due to "Ferrous Coin". Simply change it to one of the other three.
I just wish I could see the screen ! I hunt in the water wearing polarized shades and it is impossible to see sometimes
