You are right, this is a growing problem in most big and small car club's .I think the more clubs that take on young owners groups will lead into older members and hopefully just morph into the wider requirements of running the club. That's of course, if the clubs have start considering jointing forces with each other to save costs. This is happening with events in some case, like MG and Triumph are doing more joint events already. great discussion area and well thought out. Good luck, you have the view. Cheers Bob

Yes joining forces with other clubs is definitely going to be something being considering by a lot of clubs!

Excellent presentation as always, and you echo my thoughts about under 30s getting involved with classics and whats involved the club scene. It's an uphill challenge and I'm not convinced the kids are interested tbh these days...keep going girl.

It's such a different world, and a lot of this stuff hasn't changed or adapted to make it of interest, but we'll see 🤷 thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed that 😊

    Thanks Becca,
I've been a member of the MMOC for over a year now, and I have never attended anything club related. I'm curious about the roles of local branches. Geographically, other county branches are much closer than the one for my own county.
BTW, my experience is different to some, I'm not a show car owner, but drive 30 miles a day in my family workhorse 1098 4 door
    Cheers.

Thanks so much for the question Andrew! As far as I'm aware when new branches are set up and decide on a meet location, they have to be geographically so far away from another one - therefore in your case the other county branches might have put them closer to the border meaning the ones in your own county are further away. In terms of branches, you aren't officially assigned to any particular branch, you can chose to attend whichever one, or multiple works best for you. The branch can claim some money back from main club for your attendance of events and meets, but only one branch can do this, so maybe try a couple, see which one is best fit for you and go from there. Branches are usually made up a variety of cars, so your family workhorse should definitely be welcome! 😊 Let me know if you have any other questions

I am a member of a vintage car club Becca, and I have found that it is very much run in an older style. Only in the last 4 or so years accepting facebook as a communication format. There are very few younger members and me in my late 40's is considered young. Sadly we recenly lost a few of the older members of the club and getting more invloved has crossed my mind but i feel any modernisation would be met with distain. There are still meetings but these are organised through a very dated website and quarterly magazine, and the meetings tend to be held at restaurants that are to be booked in advance and to attend a meal must also be booked. This to me is very inconvenient and at times expensive.

Gosh that really does sound so dated. I can somewhat understand their perspective in terms of it might be a key part of their socialising etc, but that's so damaging to the club. The club, making helping with the club accessible, and getting young blood in should always be priority over their preference for socialising etc. It's an adapt or die situation and so many don't realise that
