another thing to keep in mind: most melee weapons have a 20x damage multiplier on heavy attacks, making the hit on 2% armor enemies ABSOLUTELY INSANE cant wait to get it on my kullervo
I don't know, as fun as they seem they seem more niche. They are too restrictive and they require you to sacrifice previous shards. There's 3 frames that do electric dmg, 2 that do corrosive, and 2 that do rad dmg, from the top of my head. So under certain circumstance they could be stronger than normal shards.
You can easily get your status proc from a weapon or companion. It's going to be niche, but frames that don't need a specific breakpoint number for strength might find the math works better with one of these. It really depends on how much the difference is and how much effort you want to put into getting the status effect.
If you can fit it in the loadout, might be worth running one of those orange ones just for the shield recovery, since epitaph's quick shot force-procs blast
Just tested the "Recover 1 HP on Blast kills" shard effect. I can confirm that this is indeed an increase to your Maximum HP per kill. Haven't been able to test the results of multiple shards (ie, does it go past 300 HP) but it's an interesting option. Seems a little too slow... Haven't been able to test the "Recover +2 HP per toxin tick" but since it never stated a HP cap I have to assume that's a heal, not +HP
Haii just wanted to say that corrosive projection doesn’t work like that since corrosive Procs take of the original armour value so the -18% from corrosive projection isn’t calculated in so even with a tauforged green and corrosive projection your still only gonna get 98% armour strip. Still the biggest of love to blacky for making such amazing videos (danke ;)) and thanks to the community for supporting him. 😊
One or two tauforged could also make a heat progenitor kuva nukor into a viable crit weapon as well. Pair that with a maxed cascadia flare, and that little microwave gun will melt entire maps, 3 mobs at a time
Pretty sure corrosive status is multiplicative with other armor reduction like corrosive projection, but you can always put 2 shards to get max 14 stacks and have full armor strip. But, like you meantioned, there are also some benefits to using the tauforged shard, since if you're inflicting corrosive, that means your weapons deal corrosive damage, and corrosive damage has a higher multiplier against armor than health.
@@chaosgyro you mean armor strip abilities and corrosive projection, or corrosive stacks and corrosive projection? Because this is what the wiki has to say: "Corrosive status armor reduction is multiplicative with other armor reduction sources. This can be expressed as the following: Armor after reduction = (1 - 50%) × [1 - (20% + 6% × Number of Corrosive stacks)] × (1 - 18% × Number Corrosive Projections)"
@chaosgyro The Abilities and Corrosive Projection are Addative with each Other... That was the Change ... Every Other Source was Unaffected so The Corrosive & Heat Status Effects Remain Multiplicative (with each other and Abilities and the Aura) and *Shattering Impact* remains Base Value. I'm unclear on how *Vicious Bond* Works at this time. 🤔
I was not that sure about CP so maybe I got that mixed up but yeah, I think for anything below lvl 1000 Steel Path the -98% variant with Corrosive DMG bonus might be favourable ^^
corrosive projection is multiplicative with corrosive and won't full strip, you can use 2 regular green shards to reach 14 maximum stacks for full strip
here's the thing about equilibrium, as long as you can make HP orbs then most energy costs are instantly trivialised. even 10(20%) energy per HP orb is a massive boost to the average players energy economy, going for the full equilibrium mod equivalence is overkill and also saves you a mod slot and there's so very many easy ways to generate Hp orbs in game versus energy orbs. For, say a protea(dispenser), citrine(fractured blast), synth deconstruct support there's a lot of orbs floating around from even casual killing.
I think equilibrium-shard is only worth it as a 1 of, as u stated. But if you expect to collect many healthorbs then just take equilibrium and skip efficiency instead

Unless i miscalculated, enemies having armor is only better if the armor after stripping is less than what would provide 43% damage reduction times 4(since 75% of corrosive damage bypasses at least ferrite armor, for alloy armor it should be the original 43% value). In addition to that, corrosive projection stacks additively with ability armor strip, but multiplicatively with status effect armor reduction, which means that it is still beneficial to use corrosive projection, even if you are using emerald shards to get more max procs. (Unless you get to 14 procs/have a hydroid of course.) Please correct your statements in a pinned comment so as to not confuse newbies and to prevent misinformation to be spread.
12:34: Sir, that's not actually that great, remember that some enemies have ALLOY armor, meaning you need Radiation to get the bonus, but you'll need corrosive to get the stripping, on the other hand, under those yellow bars, there lies a red one, that's weak to Viral all around the Grineer except for their machinery, so, what you would habve in case of full stripping, is a lot of weakened enemies that are now all susceptible to your Viral damage, meaning, you can kill them all with the same weapon, because it's modded for a damage type that not only does have a 75% damage bonus, it also applies a 100~325% damage bonus multiplicative to all damage, so, you're going to get higher numbers, you only need a good primer that can fully strip them with a fast status stacking
You Can't Mod for Both Corrosive and Viral on the Same Weapon so you can't take Advantage of the Viral Damage Vulnerability since you need to mod for Buffed Corrosive to create that Opportunity in The First Place.... But if you do mod for Buffed Corrosive you won't have any Viral Damage to Use on the Fully Stripped Targets.... MHB's suggestion just make more sense (even if it did sound Convoluted). 👀
So the damage increase from the new shards function like a bane mod, taking the final total and increasing the damage by that percentage. Very clever. The shards are neat, there are a limited amount of frames that can prime the necessary electric, blast / heat, or corrosive status on their own without priming weapons. Edit, the other options on the shards obviously help with priming.
If I'm not mistaken heat does a little bit of armor strip so if you wanna do armor stripping combining corrosive with heat on a weapon works very well. "Heat Status Effect sets enemies on fire causing them to panic and temporarily reduces their armor up to 50% with multiple stacks." - Wiki
Is the electricity from the purple archon shard is additive electric dmg or does it mix with my other weapon mods? If it additive by itself this is going to be a major gyre buff since I can apply a large amount of electric procs to get to red crit immediately and her 4 has a hidden bonus that increases weapon dmg that already have electricity and then boosted based on strength mods and shards, plus a couple of red shards to boost the purple…… this could be insane…..would love if you could confirm
Heres me waiting to try toxin mesa with archon continuity so it converts toxin to corrosive. With some +max corrosive stacks so can 100% strip with that. Throw in the hp regen on toxin procs to not die. and maybe the equilibrium shard for just energy i guess. On paper it sounds good? All the shard stats are on the patch notes. that is if they dont hotfix change them
I wish DE would’ve done a better job explaining how some of the new archon shards buffs work in the patch notes. Can you fully armor strip with 2 emerald archon shards or is it multiplicative and it never truly strips 100% armor? Is the topaz archon shard secondary crit chance buff additive or multiplicative? I’m scared to strip my Mesa of her tau forged crimson shards to make a topaz shard only to find out it’s not additive. EDIT: someone on Reddit just posted a video showing saryn fully armor stripping with 2 regular emeral shards. Also people are saying that the secondary crit chance buff is not additive so that sucks.
The Topaz shards' crit chance seems to be bugged. It does not reliability stack up on enemies effected with a heat proc, it also doesnt reliably build up when I tried using the Atomos for pure heat damage. I tried using it with Mesa's Peacemakers but they neither built the stacks or benefited from added crit chance if you pre built stacks with a different weapon.
How does the "Ability Damage" thing affect Equinox's 4? Equinox's 4 notoriously does not scale on Ability Strength, only the slash damage over time does, the burst damage scales entirely on how charged the bomb is with no scaling on Strength... But if the new Shard Bonuses DO increase the burst's damage then... ooh lordy.
Does the secondary crit chance on orange shards mean its additive or is it a base crit chance bonus? Cause if its the second that means you wont have to always run arcane avenger for certain weapons
you can and combine it with mesa's regulators and you have yourself an armor stripping gattleing gun or put 2 on lavos and his 3rd ability can armor strip all enemies it touches as it travels
@ariannazari6391, do regulators even procc enough status to make it matter? Since they focus randomly on enemies (as far as I can tell) won't the corrosive stacks decay before high level enemies are full stripped?

This may sound a bit noobish, but I'm just returning to the game, and I didn't want to "test" and waste my couple shards, but, regarding those bonuses, I saw they all have multiples, so I was wondering, do I get all those bonuses when equipping a shard, or do I need to choose only one of them and I get that specific one? Thank you in advance.
I will say, the +toxin damage from emerald shards is great on lavos because of the scaling damage of his fourth and it being AOE. I was chunking an acolyte's health bar with just 3 status effects on him.
The shield on Blast proc shard would be particularly relevant on the likes of Gauss, Mag, Caliban, Rhino and Styanax. Nova could theoretically benefit but she usually has negative Range so I'm not sure how well that would work.
For the orange shard shield on blast effect u want a weapon or lavos with as low as possible status duration since blast cap at 10 and u wont get anymore shield when that happens.
Why wouldn't we want more crit chance on a secondary? Latum SHREADS steel path survival 4+hours in. Or atleast mine does. And additional crit chance means even more damage especially if you've got a high crit chance build in the first place
Laetum's last evolution benefits heavily from a lower crit chance, the 2000% damage on non-critical hits, replacing the crit chance for faction mods does a metric shit ton over crit chance builds from what I've tested but that doesn't mean crit chance builds are bad at all, at the end of the day you're just comparing a sledgehammer with another sledgehammer and seeing what does breaks things better

Devouring Attrition has a timer of 10s whenever it triggers and is basically active all the time for ALL hits for the +1,200% damage bonus, as long as its active! well, sadly now spores deal damage once every sec and have base status chance of 50%. corossive procs of saryn's abilities lasts 10 seconds and when it runs out, each stacks disappears individually. meaning you can't go past 10 procs before the older procs starts running out in their 10 sec timer since you need 14 procs with corrosive status effect to fully armor strip. you can't achieve full strip with spores alone
Is the orange shard “extra crit on heat kill” a flat bonus like adarza/arcane avenger, or a multiplicative bonus based on your weapons crit chance just like a regular crit chance mod?
from what I've seen/heard it's a flat bonus, so stacking regular shards can get you to 250% crit on secondaries regardless of their own CC, so it's pretty nuts in the right setups; keep in mind I think the enemies need to die from the actual heat DOT, and not just from dying whilst afflicted with heat
With the violet shards critical damage being doubled if energy is over 500 is that total energy and it automatically reduces back down when your enery falls below thats my assumption
So it does the same as a red shard, unless you have 500 energy.? So kullervo gets over 600 energy with primed flow. So if I use red shards for melee cd than it will be worth it
The Violet Equilibrium shard should be great on something like Citrine. The sheer number of health orbs she generates makes the full effect of Equilibrium overkill so I think with just one or 2 Tau shards you can free up that mod slot. I'm planning to replace it with Precision Intensify on Gloom subsumed over her 4th ability so it will have max Slow with just Umbral Intensify.

I am pretty sure it does not work with Xata's Whisper or Eclipse as they are both weapon buffs and it will not actually increase their effect because it gives ability damage not ability strength. With Roar it will work only with the ability damage part so for a skill with 100 damage, 200% ability strength,100% roar buff,15% shard buff You will have 100*200%*215%(roar+shard) so a total of 430 damage Without shard it will be 400

@@MHBlacky_ENG **live and learn intensifies** 🦔
I also think the Shield regen thing is going to be huge :O

Orange shard secondary crit chance is multiplicative right? Asking for my friend the kuva nukor.
I don't think so 🤔
Feel free to Test it.
There is no multiplicative on crit chance is either base crit chance like avenger or additive like any other mod
I think it's additive to Crit Mods
Just tested the "Recover 1 HP on Blast kills" shard effect. I can confirm that this is indeed an increase to your Maximum HP per kill. Haven't been able to test the results of multiple shards (ie, does it go past 300 HP) but it's an interesting option. Seems a little too slow...
Haven't been able to test the "Recover +2 HP per toxin tick" but since it never stated a HP cap I have to assume that's a heal, not +HP
Huh.... Why does it say "Recover" Then ? 🤔
Haii just wanted to say that corrosive projection doesn’t work like that since corrosive Procs take of the original armour value so the -18% from corrosive projection isn’t calculated in so even with a tauforged green and corrosive projection your still only gonna get 98% armour strip.

It was changed to be additive some time ago
@@chaosgyro you mean armor strip abilities and corrosive projection, or corrosive stacks and corrosive projection? Because this is what the wiki has to say: "Corrosive status armor reduction is multiplicative with other armor reduction sources. This can be expressed as the following:
Armor after reduction = (1 - 50%) × [1 - (20% + 6% × Number of Corrosive stacks)] × (1 - 18% × Number Corrosive Projections)"
@chaosgyro
The Abilities and Corrosive Projection are Addative with each Other... That was the Change ...
Every Other Source was Unaffected so The Corrosive
& Heat Status Effects Remain Multiplicative (with each other and Abilities and the Aura) and *Shattering Impact* remains Base Value.
I'm unclear on how *Vicious Bond* Works at this time. 🤔
I was not that sure about CP so maybe I got that mixed up but yeah, I think for anything below lvl 1000 Steel Path the -98% variant with Corrosive DMG bonus might be favourable ^^

Ooooh yeah :D
As a swordsmith and swordsman, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IVE BEEN WAITIN FOR LETS GO BABYYYYYY
corrosive projection is multiplicative with corrosive and won't full strip, you can use 2 regular green shards to reach 14 maximum stacks for full strip
here's the thing about equilibrium, as long as you can make HP orbs then most energy costs are instantly trivialised. even 10(20%) energy per HP orb is a massive boost to the average players energy economy, going for the full equilibrium mod equivalence is overkill and also saves you a mod slot and there's so very many easy ways to generate Hp orbs in game versus energy orbs.

(Unless you get to 14 procs/have a hydroid of course.)
Please correct your statements in a pinned comment so as to not confuse newbies and to prevent misinformation to be spread.
Heat is better against flesh.

@@page8301 but they are Cloned Flesh, Viral is better against them
@@liomurasakiNo, it isn't. Heat stacks endlessly. Viral doesn't and the damage bonus from Viral also applies to Heat.

But if you do mod for Buffed Corrosive you won't have any Viral Damage to Use on the Fully Stripped Targets....

Ok as a D2 transplant (ya I know) I have to ask - are you like the Rick Khakis of warframe?
Knowing Khakis this sounds like an insult/question about who to avoid 💀
So the damage increase from the new shards function like a bane mod, taking the final total and increasing the damage by that percentage. Very clever.
The shards are neat, there are a limited amount of frames that can prime the necessary electric, blast / heat, or corrosive status on their own without priming weapons.
Edit, the other options on the shards obviously help with priming.
Couldn't you slot 2 greens shards? To get full strip?
Yes
Yup
If I'm not mistaken heat does a little bit of armor strip so if you wanna do armor stripping combining corrosive with heat on a weapon works very well. "Heat Status Effect sets enemies on fire causing them to panic and temporarily reduces their armor up to 50% with multiple stacks." - Wiki
If you somehow reduce 99% of the armor with corrosive, then heat only reduces 0,5%(half the rest armor).
@@maurymanna19 Yep, heat only reduces the remaining armor amount

@MHBlacky_ENG Hey don't Mock Oberon, mine is kitted to be a combat medic and that fker has 850+ Armor buff, and 200 Hp over time with 900 energy.
My Lavos will love these

I was also imagining something in that direction :D
The Topaz shards' crit chance seems to be bugged. It does not reliability stack up on enemies effected with a heat proc, it also doesnt reliably build up when I tried using the Atomos for pure heat damage.
I tried using it with Mesa's Peacemakers but they neither built the stacks or benefited from added crit chance if you pre built stacks with a different weapon.
Same
The Topaz ones are looking real good for Mesa🥴
So is the emerald one if you mod her regulators for corrosive (or for toxin and use archon continuity)
Absolutely! :D
Cause if its the second that means you wont have to always run arcane avenger for certain weapons
so what i heard was gyre might be viable in steel path
She's been viable the whole time. She just needs an armour strip. Preferably Pillage, but Terrify also works.

and combine it with mesa's regulators and you have yourself an armor stripping gattleing gun
or put 2 on lavos and his 3rd ability can armor strip all enemies it touches as it travels
You can.... But why would you do that ?
@ariannazari6391, do regulators even procc enough status to make it matter? Since they focus randomly on enemies (as far as I can tell) won't the corrosive stacks decay before high level enemies are full stripped?

Combing corrosive project with corrosive procs do not full strip armor like your saying. You will have to run 2 greens to full strip armor.
If corrosive projection gets you a base 18%, and corrosive procs top out at 80% with only one green shard giving you 98%, then yeah, you'd only need one green shard
Full stripping can be a hindrance since you need to deal another damage type depending on the health weakness.

1,200% extra damage from Overwhelming attrition + 360% from primary deadhead (without the headshot multiplier)

2,869 damage x 1560% x 4.8x critical damage multiplier

Devouring Attrition:
2,869 total damage in my arsenal
2,000% extra damage from Devouring Attrition (only 50% of the time and only on no crits!) + 360% from Primary Merciless
= 2,360%
2,869 damage x 2,360% = 67,708.40 damage in the arsenal
BUT also only ca. 50% of the time! (depending on your luck).
With my riven, that has 51.8% critical damage and tenacious bond that gives me +1.2x critical damage multiplier, i got 7x critical damage in my arsenal and there i get:
2,869 damage x 1560% x 4.8x critical damage multiplier
= 313,294.80 damage in my arsenal before all priming or warframe abilities!
With frost and the augment biting frost, you get red crits nonstop and millions of damage all the time on frozen enemies!

Devouring Attrition has the 50% chance for the +2,000% damage on each shot and thats it.
Devouring Attrition has a timer of 10s whenever it triggers and is basically active all the time for ALL hits for the +1,200% damage bonus, as long as its active!
