Thank you John. Your first two minutes of this message woke me from a feeling of despair at the state of the world, particularly what is happening in Ukraine. Thank you that you made see the gift of this day and consequently I can pray for those in great need that despite their pain they too may hear the birds sing and know that their heavenly Father longs to gather His children to himself.
I was worried that John's deep hurts, betrayals, and sorrow would diminish his faith, maybe even destroy it. Mercifully, that didn't happen. Thanks for proving that genuine faith is impervious to Satan's attacks as long as the believer never questions God's goodness and love.
The cry of my soul is both gratitude and asking God to give me wisdom for parenting my daughter through two suicide attempts and wisdom for the doctors for treatment. God is so good to us, His will be done. ❤️
"Most of us call ourselves sinners, & perhaps really think it, but it is indignity that tests the heart. Humility is the door to the kingdom.". St. John Climactus
John, yes, amazing right to be still to taste/see/ hear all that the Lord has made. Everyday, the pause in my daily hurry here with you is a constant lift that ”sings my soul”~leaving me filled with joy. I thank God that he picked you to shepherd my journey.🙏🏻💕🍃
In "The Art of Listening Prayer," Seth Barnes states that God often speaks to use through others. While today, God spoke to me clearly through this devo. My soul truly feels restored. I give thanks for John's words today.
Thank you for helping to teach/encourage our souls. Today is my friend’s, a fellow withered hand listener’s, “big” birthday. Although she’s a BEAUTIFUL 60, all of our outward men are decaying, but our inward men/souls are being renewed day by day. Thank you for reminding our souls to sing. Thank you Lord.
Yes. John is too humble to recommend his own book, Soul Keeper. John, your daily message is so insightful to me. My day starts with COP-Coffee, Ortberg, Prayer. And birds. May God refresh Nancy and you during your vacation.
Ouch! Abandon outcomes! I so want my granddaughter to come out above the wounds and pains I’ve suffered!
"abandoning outcomes doesn't mean abandoning urgency" - love it ♥

Thanks, John! I love the daily challenge. Sometimes I actually win against my own depression. Never quit!!
And a little bird helped you sign off. How sweet. Thanks so much, John.
What beautiful sentences. God is with you

Yes John, I will leave the outcomes to God
Thank you. My world has turned upside down with the death of my father. I’ve run so far and so fast I’ve run into myself and the need for control.

I often equate Dallas Willard as the "John Wooden" of USC. Both were/still are incredibly inspirational and Godly men.

A timely word.
I truly needed this today.
We have those birds too! I hope I will never forget your interpretation of what they are saying. That’s lovely.
