    What a great video this is, it was very helpful in my learning Filmic Pro. The outdoor footage in the snow looked awesome. I'm pretty sure you used a LUT to get the blue-ish tone. Can you tell what it was so I can download it?

    Great video and I will subscribe to your channel. I have one major question, if you generally capture at 4K at 24 FPS, but when you shoot slow motion at 1080 HD at I can’t recall what frame rate how are you able to combine both videos when you output or export to TH-cam?

    • @BenettGraezer
      @BenettGraezer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can shoot with both settings (4K 24fps and 1080p 60fps). Just make sure you edit in a 24fps timeline. If you have 4k clips and 10800 clips you want to export the video choosing the lower resolution which in this case would be 1080p. Hope that helped :)

    Nice video! Does Filmic Pro support DJI Osmo Mobile 3 ? If not, what is the advantage/benefit of buying DJI Osmo Mobile 3 instead of buying some other gimbal? Thanks.

    • @BenettGraezer
      @BenettGraezer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks you! 🙏🏻 I think one of the big advantages is the price. You can get a used one just for around 100.- bucks and it works like a charm and does the job of stabilizing the footage. If you are planing on mounting a lens on your phone then I recommend getting the Freefly Movi, it can manage a bigger payload.

    Great video! ..the whole thing! The product (actual video) at the beginning was amazing! This prompted me to watch more! We make creative videos also, and want to take it to the next level. The only concern i have about using a cellphone is when shooting on 4K mode that will use a lot of memory, so how long a segment can you "film"? It's up to the limitations really of the cellphone you're using, also not to mention the battery life. After all, it's a cellphone, and these devices are not known for long battery life when pushed to the limit. Of course, as you said in this video: practice makes perfect. I've watched a few movies already, made with the filmic product and was amazed.

    • @BenettGraezer
      @BenettGraezer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great to hear that. If you are shooting for longer periods of time (especially in a higher resolution and frame rate) the you will have to be prepared such as bringing a power bank or using an external usb stick to transfer files. It depends on the capacity storage of your device.

    @jatinker10 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the amazing videos, Benett! One question - in your example with the stones, you are at ISO 31, 24 FPS, and it appears that you have a really fast shutter speed of 1/4608 at the point where most of the image looks best exposed (8:17). Don't you want the shutter speed to be 1/double FPS? Did you end up changing another setting? Just trying to keep up ;)

    • @BenettGraezer
      @BenettGraezer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!During the making of the video I had no ND Filter to expose the image correctly, the only option I had was to increase the shutter speed. If i had the ND Filter i would have set the shutter speed double the frame rate to get a more natural looking motion blur :)

    Thank you for making great content and teaching us how to film.
    I have a question about filmning. I'm going to start a TH-cam channel where I film my hiking and fishing trips. There will be part cinematic shoots like nature and landscapes but also Vlog style video. I will film using a chestmounted iPhone while Im fishing and there is a chance for that video to be quite long.
    Should I film in 1080 and 24 fps on the Vlog part and 4K 24/60 fps when making cinematic views?
    Or should I keep one settings for both? Im worried that the files will get too large.
    I hope you understand my question 😊

    • @BenettGraezer
      @BenettGraezer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bjornmusic!
      Happy to hear that you enjoy the content! If you are concerned about your storage, i highly recommend you free up space first on your phone by backing it up on an external hard disk. Once you did that but still are concerned about the storage you can get a flash drive like the iXpand to quickly transfer some footages over. Shooting in 1080p at 24fps will give you a smaller file size and is enough to export for the web, so yes that would work too and sure you can mix it up with 4K just be sure to export the project in 1080p in the end :) hope that helped.

    • @BenettGraezer

      Hi Dyan! Thanks for your comment! The app cost 14.99$. There is an optional in app purchase called the cinematographers kit that allows you to shoot in flat or Logv2. This will give you more detail in your image and allows you to colorgrade in post. I think this option is great if you want to get the most out of your videos and do lots of colorgrading. If not, going with the standard purchase is fine too :)

    Hi, just wondering what software you use to edit. I am new to this, I tried exporting, and it gave me a .mov file, which iMovie on iPad won’t open. Any advice? Can I export to some other format or do I have to change the software, or will iMovie on Mac work. I’m not keen to use a converter as I fear it will degrade the file. Oh, and super tutorial, very practical, and straight forward, thanks!

      If you want to shoot with the anamorphic lens its best purchase and download filmic pro and it will also give you more control over your camera which is important for setting your shutter speed double your frame rate to achieve a natural looking motion blur like you see in Hollywood movies. I don't understand why you lock the ISO instead of the shutter speed. If you film in 24 fps, the shutter speed should be locked at 1/48. since the aperture is locked anyway, the only option left to adjust exposure is the ISO. I do understand that the ISO gets grainy the higher it is but this is how you actually should set it. This is video and not photography. Lock the shutter not the ISO.

    • @BenettGraezer
      @BenettGraezer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I recommend keeping the ISO as low as possible, this way you wont have noise (grain) in your image. Film in good lighting conditions and if you need more light consider using artificial light to brighten up the scene instead of bumping up the ISO. Hope that helped :)

    Good explanation. But, unfortunately:
    -Cinematographer Kit is unable when you are beyond 1080p with 48 or 60 fps.

    -The log curve is not made at the level sensor (is taken from 8-bit iOS already cooked video)
    -There's no option for deactivate DNR and enhanced edges
    (tried on a iPhone XR!)
    All this stuff is settable/able in the Android version.
    Honestly, a real disappointment! Thanks for the video anyway.
