At 66x speed, Venti was like just standing still while everything is moving backwards so damn fast. At 100x speed he was like chilling in a completely different dimension.
Honestly what amazes me the most is that this game has a path all the way from Mondstadt to Fontaine that can be traversed on foot, without any teleportation, in the first place.
I mean they want us to imagine that, Teyvat is a completely functional world, so It makes sense that they put effot in these kind of details. It only makes me think what would be done better if HYV wasn't so... You know, so HYV xx
To be fair it would just be splitting the clip into a few segments and changing the speed up. The main thing I see like the other person is the fucking storage 😭
I love it when they make foot paths to travel across. It makes the world feel more lived in and realistic. The peak of this map design philosophy was Liyue in my opinion, where there was a huge and clear path all the way from Stone Gate to Liyue Harbor. I remember going down it for the first time, it really felt like a true journey. Unfortunately, foot paths nowadays seem to be inconsistently placed, and their routes barely fit for walking. Obviously not every area is stable or safe for ordinary people, and the layout should reflect that, but there are some elements of verticality in otherwise normal areas that make the flow of travel feel like an afterthought. Additionally, not every path is marked on the map in newer areas. Most people probably won't care about this but to me it makes all the difference in exploration. Maybe this part of what made exploration in Mondstadt and Liyue much more fun for me than in any other nation. Nowadays I'll find myself just going in any direction depending on where I see landmarks, puzzles or treasure that interest me, not following any particular path. Huge respect by the way for reading every comment! Not enough creators do. And to still be doing it after 1m views and 2000 comments is commendable.
Yeah true, in the newer maps, some path are not marked on the map, some path don't even exist but they're marked on the map(on desert)😂. And I usually read comments because some of them are quite hilarious or fun to read😆 some comments provide useful information and ideas too, and I also like reading people discussing something relating to video :3 This is probably also my way to express gratitude for people who come and leave a comment
Yea a lot of newer paths are broken apart. Its not a problem with islands as you'd expect that. But a lot of paths don't lead anywhere. Its hard to imagine how Sumeru or Fontaine travel out of town as a result. Fontaine is pretty much a closed city with the only way in or out by public transit, and then you have to walk on the grass to nearby paths from the Opera Epiclese. Or get on a boat from the harbor. Either way, it isn't very realistic. likewise, its hard to imagine how Sumeru keeps some of its other landmarks connected due to disconnected paths. In terms of urban design, I think it has improved over time although its hard to say which one is perfect since they each have good and bad elements if we apply RL logic.
Honestly, I wonder if this is why I found Liyue and Mondstadt to be more fun to explore than Inazuma and the newer maps. Ever since I played the Elder Scrolls IV, it just clicked with me that paths of any type should lead somewhere interesting. The biggest and most obvious of them should go to something significant eventually. It's a failure of game design or map design to do otherwise.
i also remember going to liyue for the first time and i think about it so much. ik it sounds cringe but like you say it. truly felt like a journey. i didnt even know what it looked like/where i was going as i didnt interact with any genshin media at the time. i just found the path near dawn winery and as i went i started seeing these cool chinese lanterns, and i noticed the trees were different too.. i was so intrigued by it and then i remember turning the corner at stone gate and seeing wushang inn, and looking over the grasslands of liyue and genuinely being amazed. i know its just a game but it truly felt like such an experience and when i get bored of genshin and find it repetitive i go and repeat that route as it was just so special :)
The main roads that also work as such in the worldbuilding should all be proper, side roads and abandoned areas don't matter but fix the main roads at least
Dear lord. I tried going from Mondstat to Fontaine without teleporting but I would never have the patience to do it without running or sprinting. I respect the dedication.
Story: 0:00 One peculiar day in Teyvat, Venti heard about a famous opera house in Fontaine. He booked a gig there and asked Kaeya to accompany him to it. “But can’t we just fast travel?” Asked Kaeya “we should appreciate the scenery every once in a while honestly. So we shall walk.” Venti said. Thus, they left monstadt to begin the journey after grabbing a Snack. 0:37 along the way, Venti wanted to play in the water a bit. So he did. Venti made big splashes as the ripples affected the water. 0:44 when they got to the winery, It suddenly started to rain. They ducked into the house to escape the rain and Drink some cider. They come out a few minutes later, the area being all sunny again and continued their journey. 1:19 Outside of Liyue, Venti suddenly spots a small group of Hilicurls blocking his path, even though he didn’t want to resort to violence, he had no choice. He called upon the air to blow them down. Afterwards he cleared the Blockade and continued. 1:50 as he was crossing a bridge, Venti suddenly heard a group of hilicurls but didn’t know where they were. He then realizes they’re under the bridge and thought “Pfft they couldn’t hit me even if they tried.” Suddenly, a explosion knocked him down and thought “HOW ARE THEY HITTING ME?! THATS IT!” And called the wind to knock them up. There was another explosion and he died. Kaeya then decided to feed him and Venti felt better. Venti called the wind again and knocked the last hilichurl down. As he finally crossed the bridge, Venti saw a Electro hilichurl shoot at him but he knocked him down even though he took a hit. 2:52 when He arrived in Liyue, he saw the Geo archon Zhongli. “Surprised to see you here, Barbatos, might I ask what your doing?” Venti then said “Oh Zhongli, I was just going to Fontaine’s opera house to perform, wanna come with?” “Sure, a Walk would be nice.” And he joined him on his journey. 3:21 Venti saw a chest and exclaimed “Thank Barbatos! Wait a minute…” everyone thankfully laughed at that as a joke. They continued their journey. 3:45 as he was continuing down the road, Venti saw a Merchant being attacked by hilichurls. He took them out and said “Your welcome” as he walked by him down to Sumeru. 4:25 When he arrived at the Akademia, the Dendro archon Nahida spotted him. “what are you doing out here Barbatos?” Asked her. He said “I’m going for a walk to Fontaine to perform at their opera house, wanna come with?” She said “sure, I see you brought Morax along as well.” “Good to see you too, Lord Kusanali” said Zhongli. They continued their journey after that stop. 4:56 when they continued through the forest, Venti noticed it was withered. “Not good, we need to find the source” said Nahida. So they found it and Nahida then cleaned it up. 5:36 at the desert, Venti realized one of the creatures was moving towards him in the sand, thankfully Zhongli noticed this and activated his shield, Venti thanked him and they continued. 7:43 they finally saw the entrance to Fontaine and Venti said “Hey Kaeya, think you can make a bridge for us with your Ice? We don’t want to get our clothes wet.” So he did. While in the elevator, Venti practiced a bit with the Lyre. They then walked along the side of the river and through the areas. 9:12 Venti finally saw the House and happily said “FINALLY!” As he hentered, he walked down the aisles and hopped on stage to perform. THE END.
I like how of all the walking videos, this one has a bit of a story with Venti inviting the other archons and performing in the opera epiclese. And some scenes to match the dialogue
you can actuallly acess fontaine from monstadt through either old monstadt or dandelion sea. But since the map is not complete yet, you'd have to take this route to get to fontaine from monstadt
You can walk there with a special glitch thats bound to be patched by 4.1 so you have three days to check it out. You pretty much go to any statue of seven , press it and chat at the same time. Go to your friends profile/artifacts/map and teleport back to where you are currently. (It glitches your camera) Then open map again , and teleport anywhere else. (It wont work) Finally open menu to see paimon and escape. You can now walk anywhere your little heart desires. Paimon wont stop you.

I did a bit of counting and it took Venti just about 16 days and 14 nights (not including the night he spent drinking at Dilucs) to get to The Opera House from Monstadt. it would probably have only taken him fourteen days if he hadn't ignored the very convenient (and free) Fontainian Transportation system.
Yesterday me and my friends also went this way from Mondstadt to Fontaine and it took us 8 hours, while we were distracted by all sorts of shit like enemies or some other topics outside the game.
I love how he walks specifically on all the paths and roads even though it would be faster to just go there, makes it more authentic like he’s actually a travelling bard on the road to fontaine

it's 3 am and this gives me strange satisfaction. so peacefully, I remembered the days I just walked around Mond enjoying nature and music. back in the days I didn't even use speedrun all the time. ok, nostalgia - I would call it.
for all the people who are curious. I calculated how long he did over the walk in real time 9 x 60= 540 seconds + 12= 552 x 66= 36.432 seconds and that in hours is 10,12 hours.

Beautiful video. I havent played since months due to college and jobs but damn. This video made me feel how I felt playing genshin for first time in 2020. Kaeya in beggining didnt made sense as you were collecting archons, but when ice bridge came, wow. This almost felt like a pilgrimage. Nicely done. Thank you. Liked and subbed.
whenever i play storie or archon quests and a character far far from one reigoun like..take example when that one event were we made a movie and ayaka (i forgot who else) came all the way from inazuma to fontain..i always feel so bad knowing they walked so far
You know, now I can understand why our fav characters can't just freely go from nation to nation for just any events. Even on 66x speed it is a long manual journey, plus the random events and stuff. This really puts the world in perspective.
This is incredible. I can't even imagine the amount of time you've spent with this Also, the Khvarena of good and evil quest gives a really nice look to the girdle of the sands after you complete it, so I recommend it

I like how of all the walking videos, this one has a bit of a story with Venti inviting the other archons and performing in the opera epiclese. And some scenes to match the dialogue
you can actuallly acess fontaine from monstadt through either old monstadt or dandelion sea. But since the map is not complete yet, you'd have to take this route to get to fontaine from monstadt
And also qiaoying village not releassed yet
Cause apparently it's close to fontaine
You can walk there with a special glitch thats bound to be patched by 4.1 so you have three days to check it out.
You pretty much go to any statue of seven , press it and chat at the same time.
Go to your friends profile/artifacts/map and teleport back to where you are currently. (It glitches your camera)
Then open map again , and teleport anywhere else. (It wont work)
Finally open menu to see paimon and escape.
You can now walk anywhere your little heart desires. Paimon wont stop you.

I did a bit of counting and it took Venti just about 16 days and 14 nights (not including the night he spent drinking at Dilucs) to get to The Opera House from Monstadt. it would probably have only taken him fourteen days if he hadn't ignored the very convenient (and free) Fontainian Transportation system.

Yesterday me and my friends also went this way from Mondstadt to Fontaine and it took us 8 hours, while we were distracted by all sorts of shit like enemies or some other topics outside the game.

9 x 60= 540 seconds + 12= 552 x 66= 36.432 seconds and that in hours is 10,12 hours.

whenever i play storie or archon quests and a character far far from one reigoun like..take example when that one event were we made a movie and ayaka (i forgot who else) came all the way from inazuma to fontain..i always feel so bad knowing they walked so far
You know, now I can understand why our fav characters can't just freely go from nation to nation for just any events. Even on 66x speed it is a long manual journey, plus the random events and stuff. This really puts the world in perspective.
