Actually, Sonic CD has a very basic spin dash. Sonic just rolls in place. You can enable the Good Spindash in Christian Whitehead's 2013 port of Sonic CD (mainly released on mobile devices).

Sonic Generations spindash is so OP... In my opinion, cuz it literally shoots you after charging it and can may or may not cause a glitch... And I mean it

well, on sonic cd, the spindash was not like the one from sonic 2 it was more like the spindash from sonic generations, it was loaded with a single button and you didn't have to push it repeatedly to load it, in fact, it was the super pill-up but down

The spin dash should replace the boost because it looks cooler when looking like a roll and not a blue ball.

Technically, you can do a Spin Dash in Sonic Battle, and in Colors, when using the Spike Wisp.
Well, in Battle, it’s not really a spin-dash. A spin-dash is a reved-up spin-attack typically from the ground. It’s the most iconic move, but typical the broad term is spin-attack. Because Much like the one you’re referring to, it is a variation of a spin-attack. You’re right about Colors with the Spike Wisp though

In general these have a nice tilt and a good contrast which helps sell the spinning motion. Also they are kept clean, so no shoes or gloves that create visual noise.
Honorable Mention:
4:13 Sonic Boom
This looks nice (while charging), despite the extra details, mostly because they are kept symmetrical and sell the spinning. I also like the circular rotation going on showing some nice anticipation.
I love the adventure era sound effect, its nothing like the others and is really nice to listen to

My favorite spindash sound is Spinball's.
I love how you went through all the trouble to start up every sonic game pretty much, and just did one spindash in it.
A lot of the older sonic games can be found in collection bundles, such as the sonic gems collection
It seemed like after Sonic 2 the Spin-Dash was obligatory in *every* game.
Even in games that didn't really need it.

@@thatperson1009 It is a good mechanic, quite a life saviour for when you need speed to get through loops or corkscrews. Of course it's a necessity and a staple of the Sonic series.
It's just there are some games that really don't need the Spin Dash like Sonic Spinball, Sonic Heroes or Sonic 2006.
It's good to have them but they don't serve a major purpose outside of the classic 2D games and the Adventure style 3D games (no boost).

Yeah Sonic Blast is actually an official game, it does kind of seem like a bootleg though
@@megablueman The Game Gear version is legit, but the master system version is basically a licensed rom-hack from Brazil. It even has graphical glitches in the special stage.

Your right buddy, the one shown here is from the port/remaster. He just does in normal rolling animation but stays in one spot and spins faster until you release.
