I bought the OBD reader thing that plugs into the car on Amazon, saw it in another video. I had the light come on yesterday, plugged it in and opened the OBD Jscan app on my phone and ran the test. It told me "camshaft sensor intermitted and Bank 1 sensor 2. I just then looked up which it was, passenger side and changed it in under 30 minutes for under $30.
Is the location sane for Grand Cherokee 3.6L as well , I think so . How many of those on each side ? Only 1? Where is the crank shaft position sensor located ?
I have found that sometimes the actual wire harness is the culprit. There is a huge thread about check engine light and traction control light coming on at the same time on the Jeep forums (just google it and you will find several people discussing it), which is how it acts when this part throws a code. Check the wiring harness right at the sensor and and also make sure that when they replaced these, they snapped it on properly. Some people have had to have a mechanic run new wires to these sensors from the computer. Hope this helps you!
There is only one sensor per side on the pentastar. The code is generic and applies to engines that have both an intake and exhaust camshaft position sensor.

Looking at the Jeep. Bank 1 is passenger side. Bank 2 is the driver's side. For the cam shaft sensor.
Mine says bank 1 sensor 2. Are there two sensors on the bank 1 passenger side?

Bank 1 is passenger side on LHD and bank 2 is driver's side on LHD. The code states which bank it is.
Tell me how you remove the sensor on the drivers' side. Not much room to get fingers in there!!

Are those crankshaft position sensors or a camshaft position sensor. I thought the Camshaft PS was underneath.
Other way around. Crankshaft is in bottom half of engine, camshafts are on each side of a V6 in top end.
That's the 2001 model that's under neath

OK a mechanic I am not. The hex head on top, after you unplug it do you unscrew the bolt to pull it out, or is it just there for some reason?
Unscrew the bolt. It doesn't come out of the sensor though.

Still getting camshaft position sensor b codes don't know what else it could be. check engine light still comes on what the crap!

It's can be the wiring harness is burnt in some places. Check that first
I have the bank 1 sensor 1 going off on my 2013. That seems quite easy to change. Do you know which one is bank 1 sensor 1?
