I was born in '73 and really was a child of the 80s, but I have to say the 70s is probably the most prolific, amazing time for music. I even enjoy the 60s, 80s, and 90s, but there's never been a better decade than the 70s packing more great bands and great songs into ten years than any other decade, in my opinion. And I love TH-cam because I get to hear so much of the 70s that I've never heard before, like half the bands here. Great stuff
I was born in 61 but did not really get started until the late 70s when I was 16 years old. That said , it seemed that whenever I read any magazines about it at that time the 70s were considered a dead period compared to the 60s. Mostly by Rolling Stone but also other writers and friends who were into the more psychedelic period in the 60s, which I never cared for as much. In the 80s Rolling Stone was infatuated with Bruce Springsteen, which I was turned off by. But the 70s were always the treasure to me, and still are.Course I must say that the Beatles were the exception for the 60s.
@@zpizaman I, too, was born in '61. I read the magazines as well. Rock critics were always very dismissive of progressive rock. Even though I later reviewed albums as a secondary job, I never trusted rock journalists in general. Btw, I hated Springsteen in the 70s. It wasn't until many years later that I embraced only his seventies albums. I now think Born to Run is fantastic.
Although Bruce Springsteen was not progressive rock he did epitomize American culture in a nutshell: great band leader, showman, arena performer, lyricist, singer, song writer, guitar player, story teller, marketer, genius with charisma and probably the all time greatest mainstream musician to ever exist at this point in time. I don’t think it possible to find a higher ranking personage than THE BOSS; called that for a reason even though it only should apply to western oriented music.

this documentary is sublime.. Once the door is closed on the agitation of the world, an underlying silence is established, prelude to a dilation of perception and consciousness. In the stream of the notes that pass through us, the expressive power of the sound architecture breaks with any form of transcription of the real to attach itself to the expression of an impalpable universe. Colors, composition, rhythm, constitute a language that truly gives voice to exaltation !
Caravan foi o meu melhor achado no mundo do rock! Nunca vi algo tão original, sem virtuosidade, simplista e de extremo bom gosto. O album "In the land of gray and pink" é um dos melhores produtos feitos pela mente humana!
Richard simclair tocando baixo e cantando no caravan é um monstro. aveludado e com técnica apurada. não existe grupo melhor , existe melhores. pode colocar o camel, jethro nessa ponta. pena que o Brasil é pobre de cultura

Awesome music......Have a listen to some PROG gems....The one and only 'Fields" album, from 1971 and also another band from those heady days called GRYPHON. Nektar were not big here in Australia so I'm dicovering them now after all these years......and loving it!.

Thanks very much for your music Keith. Totally innovative.R.I.P.
Esto es una fantasía... Que clase de interpretación.
People tend to savage ELP, but their music was the soundtrack to my childhood.
That's because they weren't very good
