Coming up with a short term plan to loose weight is where A LOT of us mess up. I had to UNLEARN a lot of things when it comes to loosing weight. First, I want to say I'm glad you're on the right path were you able to give it another go again, but make sure this time you GIVE YOURSELF SOME MUCH NEEDED TIME TO LOOSE not only the weight of unhealthy fat, but also loose the weight of your mental and spiritual burdens. For me I had to loose that first than the weight of fat came off naturally to were I dont have to be on a diet. Just eating right and getting the proper exercise is just enough. I recommend you, but your choice, you seek a therapist or a consular. Talking to someone, rather than TH-cam...lol, will help out a lot. I know it did for me and others.
I know this was wordy but I hope this helps 😊

So I want to say you are seriously so brave. Like it's crazy your seriously inspire me on a deeper level based on every single thing that you said. I feel like as black woman the depths of emotional and physical trauma is unwavering and unmatched and I applauded you for speaking your truth. You look nothing like the hell that you have been through and I do not fault you for doing what you need to do in order to process your pain. I feel like society puts a lot of judgement on woman especially to look a certain way or being a certain weight and my response to that is "you don't know what someone else it going through. You don't ever know someone else pain". I am glad you prioritize your mental health first and foremost; your children's mental health and their well being. You are an incredible and excellent mother. God bless you for sharing this and you making the decision to be the best you that you can be is the most important entity in all of this. I am a white woman, and I’m often so inspired by what “melanated women” endure and overcome. At the same time, I’m very aware that the “strong black woman” trope can be a racist and oppressive stereotype. EVERY woman deserves to not have to feel “strong” all the time. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed and discouraged at times, and we should feel free to admit that openly and not always have to put up a strong front. I am working very hard to embrace all of it - the highs and the lows. It takes real grit and determination to persevere sometimes. I’m going through a challenging period myself right now, and trying to have faith that it’s temporary and I’ll come through it OK.

I understand how overwhelming it is to have stumping and jumping noises. I sympathize with you but people work and want to get as much rest absent the noise. We had a neighbor who had a child that would jump and stump at 10:00 every night until midnight. We complained as my husband’s day started at 4:00 to prepare for work. Intermittent explosive temper tantrum disorder is soo hard for parents to deal with. I hope it gets better for your son. Yesss ma’am you have been through and to see you speak with such courage despite the circumstances shows you are strong. You’re beautiful and extremely smart and I wish the best for you in 2022.

I agree that noise around that time 10pm-11pm is unreasonable. We had neighbors who’s children would run around from 7:00pm -10pm and start back up at 5am. It was ridiculous because the parents didn’t find their behavior problematic. (Just like in this situation😏) Luckily they were only our neighbors for a year.

Jeanette, you were the person who first inspired me to start working out almost two years ago now. I saw one of your videos when you went to a Zumba class and it got me to try a Zumba class of my own at my college's gym. At the time I was ~114 lbs, right now I'm ~185lbs, my goal weight is also 160. You should be proud of yourself! You have been so persistent and strong throughout all of your hardships and I am sure that you will make your goal. I've also had life issues get in the way of my fitness goals (June 2020 is not the greatest time to be a new grad lol), but what's done is done and you can't lose until you give up! She just looked stylish and beautiful as usual, to me. I tend to not notice people's weight changes though.

It sounds like you had a lot going on in your life that sent you on a downward spiral. I like that your taking accountability. I hope you can get back on track to stay fit for your mental health. Honestly, food addiction is hard. I am thankful that I have found ways to get over my food addiction by looking for other ways of dealing with my emotions. I went down this path when I was a kid and I got up to 250lbs. I was class 2 obese before I had stop growing. I still wear the scars on my body as an adult. Weight loss is possible, but if you have a bad food addiction, it’s not as easy as some people say. I am a healthy weight now. Honestly, once the weight is off, you have to plan how your going to stay fit so you don’t go back to old habits. This is what a lot of people don’t get. If I had to give a tip, find an activity that you will love. I do pole-fitness, running, weight training to stay fit now and I never thought I would enjoy it. I also have had a boost in my confidence. I am not good at any of these things, but I give it my all. I am staying consistent and that’s what matters. I am working on getting my abs for 2022, but we will see. That has been a goal of my since forever. Anyone can lose weight and improve their lives but you have to fix the root cause of overeating. It sounds like you were emotionally exhausted, so please do not feel bad, just get back on track and learn from the mistakes, most of us can relate! For me, I was eating away disappointing, anxiety, depression, etc. I now redirect those emotions to other activities that brings me comfort.
I hate leaving comments like this, but I want to let people know that weight loss is possible even when you were hopeless like I was in 2020.
We all need support and encourage, so if that is you, don’t be afraid to come over for a chat.
I wish you the very best in 2022. Protect you peace and stay physically and mental healthy. You are still beautiful regardless of weight gain. 😍

Hugs. I related so much to your comment, and as someone else with a history of yo-yoing weight and food addictions, I couldn’t agree more about having a plan to permanently maintain health and fitness on an ongoing basis. Life goes on, no matter what weight we’re at, and stress management is soooo important. 💕

I love that you are a boss mom, who is independent and a role model for your children. I believe that your mental health needs to be the first thing you address. Your weight will come off once you are mentally sound. As women we hold everything down and hold everything in for our family. But cracks start to show in our life and we break down. The reason why I am telling you this is because in my early 30(s) I finally broke and took pills. Long story short I am here for a reason. I listen to Michael Beckwith (and others). I meditate, do yoga, workout wit Xtreme Hip Hop with Phil and walk through nature. I tap into me and am now better for the world. At the beginning of the pandemic I was 275 now I am 229. I cut alot of foods and people out of my life. Tap-in to who you truly are, I hope this helps. Trust me you got this, keep your head up. You are beautiful. I now refer to myself as a beautiful mess.

Howard County, great schools but too expensive. I grew up in Howard County and left in 2012. The eating, or rather overeating, is part of the depression. I do understand how you were feeling. If you need to get therapy, please do so. I think if I hadn't gotten therapy I wouldn't be here right now. You can lose the weight, just don't put stress on yourself. Your optimism is so great and it is encouraging for me to get going until my birthday in August.
