Yes, tree fell on power grid and pull it off the house and it caught on fire . Thankfully it was able to be contained and put out. I was without power for 4 months. It was a humbling experience. I had to reach back to those old skills I learned from my grandmother who live MS. You give great advice and you show us how to do it. Thank you sir.
Good morning to you, Lead! To answer the question, I can absolutely do it! I would be great at it. I can't say that I wouldn't tire of it at some times or that I would not need guidance or help, but I can say that I would give it my all without question.
@@NelsonJ1 Can you live off grid without land? I've watched many videos of people living off grid and it basically means they are not dependent on amenities such as electricity, running water, food stores etc. But they live on land where they grow their own food, in many cases build their own houses, get water from springs, hunt wood for cooking and heating. I could go on. Basically, what I'm saying is that this is the way I grew up and trust me, if I had to go back to that it would not kill me, but it probably would kill most Americans😀
Ahh me myself yes but wife and 3 kids would struggle . They likely spend the first 3 weeks in shock and the next 3 weeks gaining the fundamental skills. And of course it matters the season (NY). One project I have to prioritize this year is treehouse which we've talk about as a kids playhouse but I see how it can fit into a larger preparedness situation being off ground (flooding) and as lookout post. Lastly can be a backup store for the essentials - will just leave it at that.
My answer is "probably". I think that once I would've gotten my routines set for being in an off-grid situation, the 3 months would probably roll by quite fast. Since I got the camp toilet ritual down, I feel so much more confident about being unplugged from the utilities.
Yes, I could because I was homeless for 2-1/2 years, and I had to with my dog, I feel God allowed me to go through this just in case, as such a time as this or is coming, and my daddy used to go fishing and camping.
I give my cats bottled water and outside there is a bowl that collects rain water. They will turn up their nose at the bottled water and go outside to drink the rain water. The animals know....
It would be lessons and adjustments in lifestyle and outlook, but if an income was certain (that could at least afford maintenance), I think it would be a quick three months. Quick because there would always be something to do to keep things maintained. And, even though it would be for three months, I'm sure there would be a need to prepare for winter or emergencies. Basically, I think it would be about keeping up water, shelter and food, along with working with nature. I'm sure there are things I don't know about.
Hi LF73 I have a question I hope you can guide me I want to get a water filter for the countertop but the Berkey is out of my budget can you recommend one sir, thank for knowledge always
Ive telling folks even if yu had your house packed.. u are at work. Pack your car... oh u had to leave it on the side of the road. Go bag got to go with u everywhere.Folks here in California say. You don't analyze a game until it's over. Still burning.
Somebody asked you about the state you are. States are giant. No need to get paranoid and mock them for an hour after such innocent question. Nobody can find you by knowing your state! And nobody is trying to figure you out! Nobody nowadays has the luxury of wasting their time! If anybody wants to learn from you about growing garden etc. they have to know at least your state because the climate is extremely important for success. You cannot plant the same garden in Florida like others can do in Denver! You could at least be decent and tell them "none of your business' instead of lying about your state.
Sorry, was having phone issues yesterday. My comment kept disappearing before I could send it. Frizzlife has a gravity water filter system like Berkey but a fraction of the price. The filters are different from what the Berkey has, so I bought a couple extra filters.
Just made it through year 2 living off grid!!🎉 It feels like normal living now!

Guava Lead. Great standup comedy! 🤣🤣
With the right supplies and wood stove then do not threaten me with a good time.

Hi, Lead. I sure could. Say, is that house you are filming in prefeb or you built it? I seem to have missed the video on the build if you made one.

I believe I could. I probably wouldn't want to go back.
Truth- NO, I have short term camping, had a period of time being homeless. Got creative with supplies. Wouldn't want too!
I could live off grid if I had everything I need ❤❤
I'm not ready. BUT... I'm working on it.

Off grid conditions for 3 months...I believe I'd be able to do it.
When you do a vertical live it goes into the live feed where trolls can scroll through and find you.
In the state of Florida, you can collect rain water 😊
What brand is the other water filter?
I got bugout totes. For the people that live in my house. They used to think i was shopping just for tge sake of shopping...they not laughing now
