4:28 that shot is beautiful. It shows me that even if they are adults they are still their mother's children, all looking at her with respect and deference. Like little kids being taught a valuable lesson in life. Beautiful.
I would have chosen Kate as well. Kevin and Randall already had so many fights, while Kate has always been the calmer one of the big three in these situations. I'm just worried that neither of them are seen in the future episodes...
Kevin was the most responsible one out of all them when she got sick. He took her doctors appointments and he wanted her to stay home in los Angeles , where she’s surrounded by family. Randall tried to force Rebecca into moving cross country to be tested by doctors and she would’ve had no one.
For all those reasons, and probably because Kevin and Randall are probably closer to Jack and are 'fixers', and Rebecca probably sees that Kate would represent who she is as a person best.
I would have chosen Kate - Their relationship is my absolute favourite and seeing them grow closer over time really makes my heart melt. I feel Rebecca also took in the huge fight between Kev and Randall as well.
Miguel has been too good to this family. No wonder Rebecca fell in love with him. Even when he had a chance to be with her, he gave it up and moved to Houston. The guy is a gem. Young Kevin was a douche and not much has changed now🙄
Her choosing any one of them could have been justified…guessing the writers wrote scripts three different ways and chose what resonated best. What a great scene!
When Rebecca asked for everyone's consent to get started, Randall immediately said "we" consent, agreeing for everybody else. As much as I love Randall, that was the first indication that he shouldn't be picked. He also DID have a "my way or the highway" approach to doing things, even if he didn't admit it. And I don't feel like Kev ever TRULY got over his issues with Miguel. I could see them really having battles toward the end. Kate was the only sensible choice.
I always hated how Kevin was overly rude to Miguel. He’s not Jack and he’s not trying to be. He loved Jack like a brother and he knows it wasn’t easy marrying Rebecca. But they both found a different love & companionship with one another.
Mandy Moore deserved an Emmy for this! The way her voice breaks, the way her body language changes, the delivery og dialogues, her expressions, everything about it is flawless ❤️
She wasn't asking for fishing buddies, she is aware she will need full time care and those carers will need somewhere to stay. The carers are the 'they'.
I like Miguel but on the other hand I don't like him, you know? It's like your best friend asks that if anything should happen to him you watch out for his family to me that doesn't mean you swoop in and become the next husband for that man's wife. I mean, to me it just means that you had a crush on this woman and then waited for something to happen (whether it be tragic or not) and took over. Don't get me wrong Miguel is an awesome stepdad from what I've seen but it's still just like "dude really?" Idk that's just my opinion on the whole thing.
Why is Mandy Moore playing the mom?? She’s younger than all three actors that play her children Is this like flashback related? Do they do a lot of switching back and forth between childhood and present??

Mandy Moore deserves the Emmy.
She does
Totally
I endorse that statement!
Without a shadow of a doubt…her performance in this show was MASTERFUL.

That's what I was thinking of when watching this scene. I'm a little worried about what comes next
Give her the Emmy
This was the episode that pushed me to pursue my dreams even though my own mom was suffering while in my family’s care.
Kevin is irresponsible and Randall is too intense I can see why she picked Kate… Nobody wants all that drama at the end of their life
No. It was always kate

Kate is the best choice. Kevin and Randall both respect and trust her judgement more than each other's and so it will cause the least tension.
Miguel has been too good to this family. No wonder Rebecca fell in love with him. Even when he had a chance to be with her, he gave it up and moved to Houston. The guy is a gem. Young Kevin was a douche and not much has changed now🙄
I kind of feel his pain. Why did they adopt that baby? Can’t imagine my parents making it so difficult.
Rebecca is an amazing Mother...she always puts her children first.
Yes mamam. Please give her an Emmy !

true. it really pisses me how the witers always try to make kevin and randall complete jerks to miguel.
WOW!! she is a damn powerful actress but she is vulnerable about her future becasue she is sick of her old they want listen to them and focus on her
I’m glad she picked Kate, Randall would be too emotional, I don’t think he could let her go
Again this episode delivered , great acting , always end up laughing and crying at different scenes 😄😥
Mandy Moore should of been nominated for a Emmy this season and episode.
This scene was so perfect and so important.
As someone who has this very conversation with my father 11 years ago, this was very hard to watch
Absolute crime that this series came and went without a Mandy Moore Emmy
Oh my god !! She is deserved more than a emmy
Someone gives an Emmy for Mandy Moore please
Mandy Moore deserved an Emmy for this! The way her voice breaks, the way her body language changes, the delivery og dialogues, her expressions, everything about it is flawless ❤️
Wait...in that flash forward scene where Rebecca is dying in her bed, both Miguel and Kate aren't there!!! 😬
Lol Kevin is happy Rebecca didn't pick Randall.
How the hell didn’t she win multiple Emmys
How she never won an Emmy, especially that last season, is beyond me!
Emmy award Mandy Moore🥇
i said to my wife "it'll be kate" for all the reasons below😆
She wasn't playing with these kids, lol
When I knew she will get nominated for an Emmy 3:00...

i dont think i can watch this show this is too much for my heart
Rebecca is best.❤
I did not understand when she said something about fishing buddies she said they are going to stay , just a question who is she referring to aa *they*
She wasn't asking for fishing buddies, she is aware she will need full time care and those carers will need somewhere to stay. The carers are the 'they'.
There are times when I think this show leans way too hard into the melodrama, but this was really something.

This was so sad 😭
Did it have to be on Thanksgiving?
In the middle of the holiday?
Probably there's no good time for this kind of conversation.
We're nick

Maybe try watching the show
