    I’m constantly amazed at the near showroom conditions of older bikes you guys have over there. Probably due to the relatively short riding seasons, but if that was here on Oz, 1, it wouldn’t sell, and 2; it would be a rusty heap by now! Good score fella.

      Yeah, it certainly is in great shape Ian. Looks like it came off the showroom floor in some regards. Even the factory decals warnings/settings are brand new and totally legible.

    Nicely done Tush. Please forgive me but I did smile at your 'on the driver's side we have ....' and then later 'on the passenger's side we have ...'. Park your car 'head' on this nice little project .... Lol
    Just a little pointer if you get stuck - Japanese bikes use a slightly different Metric thread form and is basically a 'Metric Fine' in the same way there are 'UNC' and 'UNF' threads. You will also find rubber mounted threads that compress under load used to mount windscreens and plastic parts that are handy in other uses (like noisy windscreen washer pumps in cars)
    As I said before this style of bike isn't my 'thing' but dammit you have found a lovely example and I hope you have many happy and safe miles on it. Sure looks comfortable.

      Yeah 😎 left and right from now on. Seems to be going pretty good so far. Got a bit stumped later as you will see in my next video removing pinstripes...rear fender no problem, just stuck on decals...front fender, same decal but clear coated over..kinda strange.

      @@cheftush Well I confess anything to do with bodywork or paint is beyond me. I just don't have that skill. But if memory serves as you can't put lacquer on vynil maybe the rear fender was a repair with vynil and why it came off easier and the front was the original factory type that required lacquer?

    It's fun to see your work style on something that doesn't have 4 wheels. lol Came apart relatively easy, and most imporantly, NO RUST!

    Your attension to detials with the cars has moved over to the bike should be a cool series and projects watch. I'm surprised it not a BMW bike, but sound like you found a good bike project.

    Now you know the beauty of my cycle lift with a drop tail you don't have to take off the that stuff to do the rear tyre. I ran a motorcycle shop for years and had many bikes from around the world here countless tyres and oil changes I used to stock 10'000 in tyres
    That petcock is vacuum operated turn off the bike and it close the valve also the purge is a way to manually turn on the petcock.

      Wish I had the room. I need a shop 😎

      @mikestrang6229 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya well I did have a 2000 sf shop but had to sell it so my new one is not much bigger then yours but it does have a 12 foot ceiling. I have never seen one of those wheel dolly's for a motorcycle before kind-a cool.

      I looked at a few different ones Fred but I’d been looking for this style for awhile. I always liked the look of the old indians but of course riding a 1940’s bike wouldn’t do it for me on a daily basis ...those Rockets are like 2500 cc aren’t they? 3 cylinder. I wonder what the insurance would be 😎

      2300cc and a REALLY big/heavy bike for your first go. Good call on what you chose!

  • @HamishRacing

    Wow that’s in good condition for a 20 year old Japanese bike. Well stored and low mileage I presume.
    I bet you had to dig deep in your storage to find your old metric tools 🤣
    Just a colour change Resto chef ?
    I used to bike a lot and tour all over Europe but gave up when I started the classic car thing. Still have a 1979 Honda xl185 in the shed. Need to sell that to pay for my TR3 hard top 🙄
    Enjoy the spannering

    • @cheftush
      @cheftush  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty much a colour change with a few add on items like a solo seat, white walls, crash bar, lights etc. Didn’t have to look far for the metrics because of my Alfa Spider 😎

    • @1chish
      @1chish 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One man's ugly is another man's awesome. What this bike does is show respect to the pre war 'Indian' motorcycles that had the same style of mudguards (fenders) and is a modern (20 years ago) interpretation. Not my type of bike but its a nicely executed bike in the style it represents.
