- Here i show some of the craziest character design changes from wuthering waves. some of the characters looked very diffrent and interesting - in the closed beta and the beginning of the game before they changed some of the designs comepletly! (and made them better )

For example lingyang had a beast design character, or camelya (chun) had a very diffrent design. or verinas old design was just simply a spaceranger & more.

They can use old Camellya design as another brand new character and no one would even notice it was her old design lmao

There was a cinematic-ish shot of Chun that showed up recently that wasn't from earlier tests, so its possible they reuse the design.
But it could've also been fake, so take this with a grain of salt.
Verina's old outfit would be nice for a different character with a few changes (like maybe a scientist or pilot), it doesn't fit her naturist lore, btw she kept the googles as a treasured item, is a nice memento, maybe we could even get it as skin later?
Her old outfit here was from the tech test, should see cbt-1 design was pretty good. Matched that naturist vibe u mentioned I’d say. The chixia outfit here was also not cbt-1, was tech test. The cbt-1 chixia design is pretty much same as what we got

@@_kiaz_that's why near WuWa release date many people still call him Kakarot although the name has changed for some time, because they're used to it in beta. But I like the spelling Calcharo more, Kakarot reminds me of carrots, cracks me up a bit 😆

The fiery colour and shape of her hair fits her personality. Plus, it doesn't clash with. The colour scheme of her outfit. The old design has potential, so if they polish it a bit, they can make a new character.

The hairstyle could have been better and the hair colour clashed too much with the colour of her outfit. There is some potential with that design, so if they bring it back, they could tweak it. The Chixia we got though is absolutely superior.

Now some are trying to say the old one looked plain🤬. Sorry but at least the old one kinda looked the part of what mentioned in kit I’d seen before, a witch. This new one tho…

Honestly another thing I don’t like is she’s yet another black and whitish haired color that apparently swaps to red hair. Where’s the brunettes, I know she wasn’t one to begin with, but there’s so many of the same colored hair on female characters where it’s kinda stale honestly
Actually, Camellya is probably an afterthought in an effort to stylize translation; she is still called Chun (椿) if you play the game in Chinese, which basically refers to the camellia flower.
Lingyang change actually much more fit for his lore
I wanted the old design of camellya shes beautifuly elegant
But it doesn't fit her persona tbh. If they want moke this design, they better make it as another character

Agree, they went from Tifa to Yoimiya I think. Personality is DEFINITELY trying to play off of Yoimiya being a great character to interact with but kind of under used at this point.
The Camellya change is goated. I almost strictly pull male characters cause I like to RP as them more, but she's one of the first gacha characters that makes me get it.

I kinda liking Yangyang old design or the general clothing vibes in the CBT. Fully geared/clothes character are rare to see in a world of fanservice.
I really miss awu (beta lingyang) tbh, the design is genuinely so cute and stands out more compared to all the humanoid characters that it would've been interesting look into how an outcast can be accepted by people no matter how they look even to a further extent of just ears and a tail

Verina's goggles is actually one of her favoured items so its kind of nice and sad that we don't see the goggles but also know that it was from her old outfit.

I didn't really hate the Lingyang or Verina looks before, the others were terrible though. Overall great quality change.

@@fortissears5388, no I agree with Ohmu. It was in the uncanny valley. The design could either be to make him look more like an animal or more like a person and it would work better. They just chose the latter as his story is of how he was an animal who became human to learn about humanity without the risk of being killed.

Good thing they gave a context for her new form, in her story when she awakened as a ressonator her hair turned red and her got the ability to change her body to high temperatures, but yeah they didn't explained why her booba diminished
Some ressonators have big changes in their body when they awaken it seems
Breasts are basically sacks of fat, for lack of a more elegant term, so maybe she just raised her body temperature so much she literally burned off some of the fat ;3

Verena is from a typical little technician to WuWa Nahida now
I kinda wish they still somehow try redo verina old design because she doesn't feel like a botanist at all in her current design, all I could get is that she is just a random little girl with flower motive

First think I thought with the earlier beta previews on yt was how the character designs felt less inspired than in PGR for example, so I welcome changes there. New ones seem to be bangers

Chixias and Verinas old designs you showed were actually from the technical test not CBT 1. Verinas design also slightly changed from CBT 1 to CBT 2 which is the final one we got in the released version

The only changes that I will constantly complain about is how they changed the story in the beginning. Shit wouldn't have been so boring if they kept the original storyline, but nope. The CN playerbase had to make it worse for all of us

@@miredmindFrom what I remember, originally, almost every character was very distrustful of us, which is justified considering we are strangers with unknown origins. But because of the CN community, 90% of the storyline had to be changed since the characters were too distrustful and hostile towards Rover. So when I played first before knowing this info, it felt really weird to me because, why are they so nice to me when they just met me? What happened to "Stranger Danger"? Overall, I trust Kuro that they would still cook with WuWa (cuz look at PGR)
@@miredmind every single person in Jinzhou wanted mc to be executed, except yangyang, and other forces (black shore and fractsidus).
Mortefi wanted to make the mc into a labrat for experiment, he got permission but failed to do so because the mc was so strong, sanhua wanted to kill the mc because mc has the same number as madam, she couldn't accept someone like mc to have the same number because it is a disrespect to the madam, Jue told Jinshi to capture and imprison mc, to see the origin and examinate mc. Chixia and baizhi also wanted to kill mc, but later on they didn't do anything rush unlike the previous i listed out, it just funny that despite we save, and it was even the first met, they immediately wanted to execute the mc, they don't even know anything and yet pose a threat against someone that can literally just eliminate an overlord class with ease while others got beat up bad. It's a good thing mc didn't have any bad thoughts like killing on sight against anyone who's against/kill/capture/imprison him (because black shore and fractsidus welcomed him in both negative and positive, more like no rushing but rather enjoy/recruiting mc)
The reason why even they got permission to capture and examinate mc but failed is because the mc was so strong they couldn't do it even with force, also thanks to some interferences from others.
This is the reason why CN fanbase hates it, because it is over extreme to the fact some CN hate some waifus because of how bs they are lol. Which i understand, Kuro could have kept the old one, but will the old one be successful ? we do not know and not entirely sure about it, the only thing that i am 100% sure is that, some waifus will get massive death threats, and that will be fking expected.

@@KamenIvvy, from what I can gather, it seems the old story had it where everyone except for Yangyang was distrustful of us and wanted to either vivisect us or kill us on sight but because Rover was too powerful, it never worked.
Yeah, I prefer the idea of the characters being a bit more chill as I can explore the world and enjoy the character interactions without it feeling like Mad Max
The old story does sound promising though. Shame I never got to see it as it could have been cool. Plus, it would be more realistic that everyone would be distrustful of a person who essentially fused with a demon created from the fear of war and strife.

They changed lingyang's design coz of cn complaints, so now the devs made it so lingyang broke his bones, ripped off his hair, filed down his claws so that he looked human (implied on his companion quest).
(Just for context, I haven't started playing WuWa yet) I find this really sad story-wise, but I can respect the grindset.
I’m very very happy they changed Lingyang, had Lingyang been his Beta Design. There wouldn’t have been a single character that I liked in Wuwa

Chixia and camellya's old designs looked better than the new ones, they'll forever be the the chixia and camellya that i love, shame that they had to change it.
In alpha and cbt1, they look like a PGR model characters and with cbt2 come out, yup they change almost every characters designs and look much better than before.
