I use duolingo and I’m learning Spanish. I think I’m doing pretty well but I don’t really understand the accents and why there is three versions of eat and drink for different things like you, I, or She/Him. Example: you would say Yo como manzanas (como with an o for I) you would say Él/La/Ella (or whatever) come (I think) for he/she) and you would say comes for Tú (which means you) and same for drink which is Bebe/bebo/bebes. It just kinda doesn’t make sense 😅
Yes, each person has its own coniugation, and there are also 18 tenses (you only use 5 or 6 in every day life). On one hand, it seems like a lot at first. On the other hand, the majority are regular verbs, so you're ok learning a handful of rules. Also the subject can be entirely skipped in some sentences, since it's already tied to the verb.
@@MrBIooder so that’s why it sometimes looks like word safe missing like when it says “El passaporte, Por favor” it just translates to “passport please” instead of “The passport, please?”
@@Newb2.0 It kind of makes sense but yeah I’m getting the hang of it 😅 it’s also kind of weird that instead of having one word for the if it’s feminine it’s “La” and if it’s masculine it’s “El” which sometimes messes me up because Él is he and El is the but since there’s an accent I can tell the difference if that makes sense
yeah, it's important to have the bare basics down when you do a Duolingo course. I already did an elementary Spanish class at my community college and played a couple of my videogames in Spanish before I gave Duo a shot. So, I already knew how grammatical gender and verb conjugations worked. Comer-to eat, yo como-I eat, tú comes-you eat (informal), vos comés-you eat (regional informal), él/ella/usted come-he eats/she eats/you eat (formal), nosotros/as comemos-we eat, vosotros/as coméis-you [guys] eat (Castillian informal), ellos/ellas/ustedes comen-they eat/you [guys] eat (Castillian formal/Latin American general), comiendo-eating, comido-eaten

Spanish is by far the easiest language to learn for native English speakers. It’s really not hard. Now, to become “fluent” will take some time and effort; but it’s not as hard as French or Italian, or German, or Russian etc.
@@maejay8674yes! I am Italian, from Naples (which language had huge influences from french and Spanish dominations) and i understand most of Spanish without never studying it. I think spanish is not difficult but every latin american country has it own slang so the same word in mexico has a completely different meaning than in Argentina and so on. For example, in some countries the word "coger" means "to grab something" but in Argentina means "to fuck", "cajeta" in Mexico is the argentinian "dulce de leche but "cajeta" in Argentina is the vagina; "concha" is a name but in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile is also the vagina and so on and so on...

the amount of beauty this girl is radiating is just *chef's kiss*
Why do you use a term "chef's kiss" that means one thing to substitute for what could be *anything*? Is it amazing, awesome, cute, incredible, cool, perfect wonderful or any part of another string of words or phrases?
@@bela-sofia34 yes
@@AdrenalineandEpiphany So being something of a high enough quality to get a chef's seal of approval as very good is what you substitute for what could literally be any or all positive descriptors?
So, "The amount of beauty this girl is radiating is judged as really high quality" in essence?
She’s so beautiful and she seems pure - like not an evil bitch on the side. That’s a rare beauty to find these days.

Looking up "Spanish with Paul" on TH-cam (friend's suggestion), the relevant shorts it brought up were 3 Qroo Spanish(?), and 2 saianana. Congrats. You've made it to the top of the Spanish language learning recommendations on TH-cam!
This is why you need to study grammar rules before. Duolingo doesn't offer that.

I grew up with my dad from Iowa who doesn't know know spanish. I was babysat by my spanish only speaking grandma everyday and watched spanish cartoons everyday and even took spanish in college and highschool, and I still don't know spanish lol
Hmm... Why is Ana lying to us? About her learning from Babble. I bet if her mom heard this she be running with a chancla. And probably yelling at her in Spanish so fast we would not envy Ana for that moment.
I thought this too
She's a straight liar. But she probably made about 10k on this ad alone.
i wish i learned spanish from my mexican mom too but over the years her fluent spanish went to be spanglish😂
I'm chuckling at how much I can relate to this sponsored video! I also took Spanish classes in high school because I wanted to learn the grammatical and written aspect of a language I first learned to speak. I wanted to better communicate with my parents and become more fluent. It was an active effort. I commend you, Ana, for your effort. I also used Babbel as an aid when I studied Brazilian Portuguese in college. I still continue to expand my vocabulary in Spanish and I try to practice my Portuguese. It's an ongoing learning process. Te felicito, Ana!
My biological father was Spanish and Native American and I’m trying to learn more about my cultures and my language! Sadly the amazing people who adopted me and who I’m proud to call my parents aren’t Spanish or Native so they don’t know the language! So thank you for helping me learn through your videos!
So glad to hear you endorse Babbel! I’m 66 and decided about a year ago that I should learn Spanish. I started with Drops but it focuses on vocabulary. Then added the free version of Duolingo, and at Christmas treated myself to a year of Babbel. It definitely gives me a challenge!
I am also using Babbel for my German and I can say now that I can speak a lot more German now thanks to Babbel

I learned Spanish when I was a child. The other day my friend was bragging about she’s on level three Spanish( she can’t speak it well )and my other friend was like me too and my other friend was like no guys I’m on level four HA and I looked over at them for a second and they knew it was about to go down cause I opened my mouth and said “GuYs Im On LeVeL 13+ oF sPaNiSh” and they were all just like here we go again.
Spanish is by far the easiest language to learn for native English speakers. It’s really not hard. Now, to become “fluent” will take some time and effort; but it’s not as hard as French or Italian, or German, or Russian etc.
For native Spanish speakers like me, we consider English easier than Spanish.
And Italian is easy for Spanish speakers
@@maejay8674yes! I am Italian, from Naples (which language had huge influences from french and Spanish dominations) and i understand most of Spanish without never studying it. I found French easy to learn when i was at school bc it's not too different from Italian. English is the easiest to learn for us. Now German is not that hard but i found Dutch to be too much for me to even pronounce anything 😂
I am learning German and I messed up on one of the pronounciation sounds and it was the hard “ch” sound and I kept getting the words wrong with that one in them and I was thinking why can’t I get this right and why can’t I pronounce it right

This whole video is literally just an advert. Disregard
It was sarcasm when she said she didn't learn from her.
Yeah anyone thinks she learned from babble is a damn fool
@ricksgiggle8852 Actually she wasn't. My dad is from Mexico and I didn't learn from him but instead through real life conversations with my family down there and the guys at my dad's work. You Actually think Hispanic parents go through the breakdowns of the conversation like your parents did with English teaching proper sentence structure, nouns, verbs subject clause and such. 😆 🤣
@@SykotikShadow nobody neds to be taught stuff like taht when learning your native language, and no parent teaches you those things as a child lmao
I learned Spanish because i used to live with my Puerto Rican cousins aunts and uncles and my grandma
Learning through conversation rather than just memorization is probably better.
Took a decade of Spanish. I can understand pretty well still if it’s slowed down or written but I can’t speak it aside from pronouncing things right lol
I still remember my one Spanish teachers who went to another country for a year to learn how to speak Spanish and he said it was so much easier being immersed in it and having to learn through conversation.
There’s definitely a difference between understanding a language or actually speaking it 😅

I learned english by hearing people speak it all of the time.

That's cool that you learned Spanish
I don't know if it worked _that_ well, but in Spanish class in high school I was having trouble pronouncing words correctly (to this day I still cannot fathom hwo to roll the R sound) but one day I had the "and Iiiiii, will always love you" song stuck in my head and uh this happened
Something like _Ir a la cocina_ became _eeeeeeeeerrrrrrreee ah, lah co-seen-aaaaaah_ and uh, yeah, idk, somehow it helped me to place the syllables right. I don't know. It worked for me. I definitely sounded less awkward trying to speak Spanish at that point
As a native speaker I don't know how to explain the sound of the R, I just have the R in my blood hahaha
Duolingo has been awesome for me! My mexican mother also didnt teach me spanish unfortunately. It was hard to communicate w my abuela and although shes no longer with us, Im going to make her proud!😊 another thing that has helped is watching movies/videos in english or spanish and putting subtitles on in the other language!
I've always thought Spanish is an easy language to learn.
English is easier than Spanish, and also Spanish has many, many accents, I only speak the accent of my country
I “learned” spanish from google translate 💀
Can you add #ad to the description? It's pretty obvious that this is an ad, but it's also technically a legal requirement to add some notice...

I learned most of my Spanish from songs with such artists as Chalino Sanchez, Los tigres del norte, Los tucanes de Tijuana, and a lot more because I really just leave Mexican music on shuffle because it all sounds good
Spanish is NOT difficult, compared to English. It just feels that way if your first language is English.
