You guys have been asking for this every week of every month since I released my arrangement of this song back in April. So I finally sat down and made it as a Christmas present to all of you who have been so supportive over the months/years.
First off, the TAB was created by Robert Chen. If not for him, I probably wouldn't have done it myself and thus wouldn't have made this video. Go check out his version of ASGORE and say thanks by subscribing to him! • Video
I didn't do a full-on tutorial this time, in which I explain all the chords, since I didn't have time, but I did try to play it slowly so you guys could follow along. I haven't hardly played it since I made my original cover so I'm a bit rusty, haha. Keep in mind that the purpose of this video is to help you learn it, not to be taken as a performance.
The tabs are like 95% correct, but there are a few discrepancies here and there since I play it a little differently each time. Hopefully it doesn't give you too much trouble.
Two important things to consider; for this video I left my guitar in standard tuning. In my original arrangement I tuned down one half step. So that means that it's in a different key. I wanted to make it easier on you guys to learn.
The other thing is that for the Determination section, I didn't use a capo. I straight up forgot that I put it on the 2nd fret in the original and didn't realize it until I was nearly done editing, haha. SO when you're following along with my original arrangement you will need to put the capo on the 2nd fret for Determination.
Something else I wanted to say is that I get bugged sometimes by listeners about the fact that ASGORE is technically incomplete since I cut out the last couple of sections and replaced them with Determinaton. In Toby Fox's original song, the last couple of sections are a REARRANGEMENT of Determination so I thought it was clever to put Determination in there implying that the player/listener is experiencing a game over screen. It's theming!!
I have to admit that I had fun revisiting this one. Earlier this year I was kicking around the idea of re-recording all of my Undertale stuff, plus a few extras and releasing them as an acoustic-instrumental album. I wanted to have it done for the anniversary of the game, but I got busy with other stuff and wasn't able to get to it. Plus, I dunno, it felt kinda weird at the time since I didn't want it to seem like I was trying to squeeze every last possible view/listen I could get from the UT soundtrack. At the same time my UT guitar arrangements are some of the most fun and challenging stuff I've ever done as a guitarist and I kinda want to put them all together in one remastered, presentable package. In any case, it's on my mind and if things line up I would love to do it!
Feel free to hit me up with questions and I'll try to answer them as best as I can. Also, let me know about any mistakes in the video and I'll try to clear them up with annotations.

I am in my 4 month of training with this song. It's being really hard to learn it, and my fingers are destroyed hahahah

I think the trick is to not aim at someone else's skill level, but rather be better than you were yesterday!

I suggest buying a ukulele. it's cheap, easy to play, small and compact, and is like a baby guitar. (Ukulele and guitar duets are amazing btw.) Im 14, with no music experience whatsover, and I've only played for a month, but yet I already know around 20 songs. :)

Ukulele was fun, but guitar is a real step up. When I was 10, my cousin (they live in California) taught me a song or two on his guitar. When I got back to Canada, my dad’s friend had an old guitar he was getting rid of, so I got it for free. Really crappy acoustic, with a neck so bent the stings were half an inch off the neck. I didn’t know it was a bad guitar, and just played anyway. Trust me, with a little effort, you can do it. That was 5 years ago. I don’t play much, but I still slowly improve. I just learned Undertale, and plan on doing this too. Also, I’m about to start getting guitar lessons which will drastically improve my skill level. It’s really fun. Once you get in the zone, you can play for 2 hours and not even notice.
I know this is just a guitar tab video, and that it's slowed to make it easier for beginners to learn the song. But holy shoot if this doesn't make me feel bad for Asgore. Of all the main characters in the game, I feel like he is the most hated/underrated. Hearing the song played like this almost makes me feel like it's him himself playing it. Almost as if he's being remoseful for what he's done. It's incredible. Well done!

Did you put the capo on 5th fret because it sounds fine to me
In the original video, he says he’s in drop C#, tuned down a half step, and capo on the 5th. I assume when he says he’s in drop C# and down a half step, that means his low E is a C, but regardless of what he means, the way I think it sounds best is drop D, capo on 4.
Wait so if I have a EADGBe guitar , I can re-tune it into a DADGBe or are they bought that way (soz if u dont know but I'm new)
