  • One of the great families of the early Mormon Church was the Huntington Family. Their example of faith is one of the strongest examples in the early church, and their influence in church history is felt today by the legacy of seeing the Huntington name associated with various locations settled by early church members. In this story, we see one of the more priceless stories of visits by members of the Three Nephites to faithful Saints of the Gospel.

Brother and Sister Ashby from Logan Utah told a similar story of a man who visited them on a cold winter night. The man knocked on the door, had dinner, stayed the night. In the morning this stranger had breakfast, said he had to leave, he said goodbye and opened the door. After a long moment Brother Ashley said "let me see the direction he went," peering out the front door, he looked at the stranger's footsteps in the snow, they suddenly disappeared there was no trace of the stranger only his footsteps leading away from the house. Brother Ashley said this man was a kindly fellow & spoke at length with the future senior couple missionaries maybe to prepare them for a mission among the Lamanites.

In the 1950’s as a child, my uncle was sick in a L.A. hospital. He almost died. My grandmother was with him and in walks a doctor who offered a blessing to him. He gave my grandmother pills for him in a Rx bottle. He left and when the nurse came in my grandmother asked about the Doctor. They didn’t have a Dr. on staff by that name. In fact, they never heard of that doctor before. They never saw that doctor enter the room nor leave the room or walk the halls of the hospital. No record existed of that visit and she was never charged. Miracles happen and the Lord comforts those who need comforting through his servants.
A similar incident happened when my cousin was suffering with a brain tumor and awaiting surgery in the hospital. My cousin was in her late teens. In walk 3 men, dressed oddly. They gave her a peaceful blessing which calmed her soul. They promised her health would be restored. They left. No one saw them come or go. We always believed it was the 3 Nephites. This also was in L.A.

Oh my goodness I just read this , this morning. My huband used to tell us of something similiar of a Nephite visiting the Naranho Family in New Mexico when he was a young missionary in the Southwest Indian Mission for the Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter Day Saints. This would have been in the late 1960"s or was it early 1970"s? At that time the family were not members when the Nephite visited them. They too saw when he left that he rose in the sky. My husband, who died two yeara ago from Covid, said the Naranho family eventually joined the church. and became stout members. After many years he would visit. Years later he came now she was a mother, prior she grew up seeing him come and go. Upon his last visit she noticed heavy pouch he carried at all time it never left his side. Sister Naranjo asked him what is in your bag out of a woman's curiosity she said. He said do you really want to know. Three times he asked with sober intensity he answered yes. He said it is a very burden to acknowledge. He opened bag he said record of history of men on this land as it related to the the Lord. Since it has been my burden to carry this knowledge. He never came back to the village he left floating off the ground.

So you think something has been discredited here, even though the specificity of the "three Nephites" (going back to the early church) has been a well used description of the "3 Nephite Disciples" as you might demand? What's eating away at you? Are you saying descriptive language to speak of three "disciples" cannot and shall not be used? If that is the case, how's that English language been working out for you these days? Do you find people find it comfortable to have a conversation with you considering your precise demands for how you expect everything to be defined and addressed? Who are you that you feel so entitled to correct the lexicon of church members for well over a century and a half? I'd love to hear your answer and even who you are to feel you are, to be so entitled to set parameters on how you expect the English language to be used.

You are asking why these men are not preventing evil. They do not have power over Satan.Their purpose is to contribute to the Lord's work. You may have asked a question for the church missionary program to address here, not the Three Nephites. Sometimes sister missionaries end up in possibly dangerous locations, and that is not right; nowadays even young men need to be careful. While you may not like the answer the translated beings never were portrayed as superheroes as you have read in comic books. They do not just appear to fight evil, no one ever said that.

Yes, their power is certainly there as you state where the devil does not have power over them and is able to prevent their works. But the universal laws of justice to do not allow someone to simply put a stop to the works of Satan simply because it is desired. The devil's plan has its' limits but in the meantime when Satan has been handed power due to the evil works of men you simply do not revoke the power and dominion Satan has worked to claim over the souls of men, simply with a snap of the fingers.

When you seek answers from the Book of Mormon instead of the Bible, God can't help you because you have turned your back on Him. Therefore this leaves the door open for Satan (II Corinthians 11:14-15) to step into your life with a false christ or prophet showing you signs and wonders to lead you away from the real Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. God Himself warns us about this in:
    MATTHEW 24:23-24
"Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or There! do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect..."
Mormons teach and believe that their jesus is the brother of Satan, which contradicts what God says in His Bible that Jesus is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.
So Mormons, which Jesus do you believe in?
    A. Your jesus of the Book of Mormon, who is the brother of Satan.
    OR
    B. The Jesus of the Bible, who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.

@AlbertJLouie - Are you understanding the words your fingers are typing? As in what you posted here:
      MATTHEW 24:23-24
"Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or There! do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect..."
By false prophets, do you perhaps mean anyone who might change the words of any Biblical scriptures or scriptural truths? Which false prophets are you following who claim the right to corrupt scriptures like this? Would you not agree that altered scriptures represent a corruption of the truths contained in the Bible? Let's get a clear understanding of what you are attempting to do here:
You are using changed and corrupted scriptures created by the false prophets you serve and submit to their authority, to refute a point that no one ever claimed? How does any sincere-minded seeker of truth navigate the mental gymnastics of the alterations of true scripture that you and your leaders have turned into false scripture?

The Bible verse in MATTHEW 24:23-24 is very clear that the Mormon church worship a different Jesus that is not of the Bible.
If you weren't so caught-up in muddy-up the waters with your vain philosophical talk, you might be able to understand MATTHEW 24:23-24 more clearly.
God warns of people like you trying to deceive people through philosophy.
      COLOSSIANS 2:8
"Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the principles of the world, and not according to Christ..."

When you use attacks like our Jesus is the brother of Satan it is VERY easy to disregard everything else you say. You are resorting to using emotions to win a theological argument. Not only that, but you are trying to use negative emotions to "win" a theological argument. Stop and consider: would "your" Jesus use negative emotions to persuade someone? Or would that be a tactic Satan might use? Whose influence are you under right now?
