HiJason, great video as usual, nicely filmed. To answer your question an e-bike is a massive help in my opinion. Gets me to places I can no longer manage on the Trek. For those conditions that little dinky bike couldn’t really be expected to cope. I’m sure it’s a great bike in good conditions. I run a 29er hard tail (29 inch wheels with front suspension only) e-bike and it’s massive on wet muddy towpaths . If you can stay on it nothing will stop it. Thanks for making the effort and happy trails.
Yeah I'd agree, it wouldn't be long before it would having issues on trails like the ones I brought it on. It's a great bike and has some very nice features but although it's marketed as an outdoor adventure bike it's more so for nicer smoother trails in dry conditions. In that case I'm possibly the worst person to give this bike to test out 😄 If you see me coming you can take it that the rain isn't too far behind me. Take her handy 👍
Nice video Jason, last thing I expected was an e bike test! V interesting, looks like it and you coped ok in the conditions! The pace you would make on a goodish forestry road would be crazy id say! A nice little trailer and off you go!
Cracking video pal. Man you absolutely took the road less travelled 😂 feckin wash out. Very cool location and it looked like you enjoyed yourself. Very cool looking bike i must say. Really enjoyed that. It made me hungry.
Another deadly video. I can understand the feeling of the old empty house being spooky. Im a truck driver and stop along the road sometimes beside abandoned homes and old buildings and i get the feeling 😅😂
That old abandoned place looked creepy as hell! I imagine the noises may have been wildlife wandering around, maybe deer too seeing that you witnessed some tracks. Still though, takes a brave person to camp there! Gave me the creeps just watching it! As for the ebike, call me old fashioned but i prefer to hike to my camp spots generally. Feel that im more engaged with my surroundings that way and finding a nice pitch is the reward. Hope you didnt break it! Cheers!
Nope it survived to tell the tale 😄 I'd agree with you, I like having the freedom of my own two feet and taking it all in. I cand efinitely see how they would help people but not on trails like this one. Smoother sexier trails are a must
i got a LECTRIC XP 3.0 with 3 in. wide wheels and the rear rack is welded on a caries 150 lbs. Almost identified to the EMGUE(?). oh yeah and that IS a sexy new hat! Have a few trips w/o rain and enjoy yourself!
Cheers Jason nice video you don't strike me as an e-bike enthusiast😀 cracking looking bike though!! You did well to stay on id have been gone, way too spooky👿 👍
No I wouldn't class myself as one either 🙂 it is a sexy looking bike and to be fair to it it did a really good job considering how horrendous the trails were. I was grand once I got into the hammock, just my mind playing tricks
you know water & lithium batteries go... *🌊🔋💥 BOOM* just now i was putting 2 lithium tool batteries i got today isolated incase they blow up. if they do theyre by the front door they get ejected outside. while charging them i kept checking them 😳 we got a cat 5 hurricane on the way in florida we are in the path middle.. so i been busy. that meal looked good and its 4am im starving. lol. i need to be back up at 7 😴 lol but i couldnt miss your video. hope you get a good week ahead 🙏💒 had to give the lithium battery warning. you only get 15 seconds to get it outside when it starts blowing up. dont try to put out the fire.. thats not possible. be safe 😁🏞
@@RamblingOn lots of videos on youtube cars bikes scooters... if not for that they would be perfect. i mean atomic bombs are a great source of heat.. but they vaporize you.. 😳 lol
You Irish lads could teach us New Englanders a few things about waterproof shoes and how to keep your feet dry in general. Really. I'd be interested to hear all about it.
I kept looking into the background behind you, half expecting to see a pair of eyes! Luckily none. When I get the camping heebie-jeebies I watch Green Wing on my phone! Mind you, only with one ear bud in!
Only just seen your site today, nice 1,I've camped in some strange places. The hellfire club in the dublin mountains was my favourite but I've been living on the Isle of man for 20 years and when I camp here tt week I just leave the bike running and kip under it.nice and toasty but a few exhaust burns in the morning 😊
Errr...I kinda doubt that ebike of your was made for THAT kind of trails!! About a year ago, I bought an e-fatty myself. Not the foldable kind though. And with 26x4.8 tires. Scrapped my car a few months before getting the bike...and use it for commuting to work, shopping...well, everything, really. And I love it! Even 15-20°C below freezing!! What kind of tire pressure are you running? With my wheels, I found ~9psi rear and ~7psi front gives me the best comfort and grip combo. Had to get studded tires for our icy winters here, though.
It's marketed as an Outdoor Adventure Bike and its shown in use on trails, now to be fair those trails were bone dry and in a lot better condition 😄 It was a good test for it and it survived. It's a great bike, I was very impressed with it apart from the water proof rating. I often go in to some mad places and this bike just isn't suitable for what I do. I often thought about getting an Ebike to use in a similar way to yourself. For everyday use they are great. The recommended psi was 20 so that's what I went with. It sounds like you have a very nice setup for your Ebike, much better than the cost of running car these days.
A wetsuit would have been better suited to that camp! Btw, Have you seen the new Durston dome tent? Looks sexy! Of course, I finally ordered an X-mid 2p and they come out with this. Hope you get chance to do a review at some stage if you get it. 🙂
I've seen the dome tent and it does look very sexy. I doubt I'll be getting one though, I have too many tents at this stage. Best of luck with your Xmid when arrives 🙌🍀
@@RamblingOn I'm no Gourmet but you might like to try them out when camping... I use my bike... Not Electric.. Purely to return to car in 20 mins from South Prison area.. 😀
I did the same as u. Stared at a tree in the dark ! And then said to myself did it move! Ther ! No sleep and near heart failure! Lmao. Did u not miss Urr tent ?
I can’t believe you still bothered your arse filming the shots where you go past the camera in that weather! Fair play to you!! I assume the bike brought you home and you didn’t leave it up there because it died on you! Mountain bikes are hard work but at least they don’t become useless if the battery dies! 😂
Personally i hate ebikes... Way too quiet and have been very nearly mowed down a few times... My fault tho....cause im usually distracted by other things to hear anything....😅 Especially a quiet moped wipping along at 30 behind me. Dont think they should be in the wild places either.

Cycling in the rain on a bike that doesn't do well in the wet to a ghost infested campsite, you mad bastard. Legendary content.
🤣 I laughed out loud reading this one, thanks a million 👍
Love your video’s x
Dragging an e bike through the mud and rain to set up camp. Then you make a meal like that. 😋
Love how you show the good and bad of camping. It's so much more real and relatable.
Thank you, we have to take the good with the bad 🍀

Yeah I was fairly tipping it now to be fair. It survived anyway so it's all good, a trailer would be class but definitely on smoother trails

I would imagine most people would think twice about going down there in a tractor let alone an ebike. Thanks for watching 👍

Fabulous video Jason, lovely atmospheric shots. For a minute there I thought I was watching the Blair Witch Project 😂
😂 Cheers Ton 👍
Always nice to see you on adventures. Sooo....you are scared of ghosts i see😂 Cant wait for next film. Thanks

Great video, is the season for comfortable hammock camping in Ireland coming to an end soon? How did you sleep?
Nope it's only getting started now the flying insects are dying off. I slept grand, I'm really loving the hammock camps these days
You are an inspiration sir. I have the kit, need to get out and do it. Under quilt essential?
@Mako-rh6tl underquilt is definitely essential. I tried using a sleep mat inside a hammock before and it was a nightmare 😄
😃
No worries mate ghosts n such can't physically hurt you most of the time their just lonely lol
I didn't know it rained In Ireland.
