"Torrid" is hardly the word I would use, though I would be the first to admit that our dynamic does carry with it a certain intensity combined with a closeness few achieve in a lifetime.
You showed a great deal of resistance. Her punishment is tempering her willful nature. Why is she not handed over to the mind shifters to adjust her character to be a proper double agent in the school.
Just a theory, but I think the Governess figures that if she keeps her mind intact, she will continue to present the challenge that she is craving. When it comes to me, though, she won't hesitate to have the Hypnosis Governess jumble my brains a bit. *Sees the Hypnotic Governess coming* "Bye! Gotta go!!
The family members and spouses who sponsor the women into our care have quite a bit of leeway on the treatment applied while in the Reformatory. While Miss Harrow's family signed over permission rights for all forms of corporal punishment -- rather eagerly, might I add -- they decided against authorizing any kind of hypnotic treatment. I suppose it's just as well; I prefer not to use the mind shifters except in hopeless cases. It rather feels like I've given up on using my governess skills to treat the problem. I'd much rather our girls come around to virtue on their own without mechanical help. I also admit, I would rather miss the challenge and intellectual stimulation Miss Ella's presence brings into my life. -- Headmistress Bainbridge
