A creative enough coach can pretty much do it with any zone since it's about discipline and being in your spots. Just different assignments/principals and responsibilities depending on which zone. That's how it evolved to begin with basically
It's all about the offence. The defence sets matching up the offence. I mean If the offense runs a "double high" or "double option" it must be a 3-2... Just need clear and easy rules to be effective
