A great chef has a great incentive and is passionate of what he or she is doing. He or she must have an outstanding love for food as well as a creative mind and on point palate. You must also be a hard worker who is comfortable with working in a fast pace. The chef is a kitchen leader so he has to first be a team player then work up to the position of sous chef and so on. Being a chef is an awesome job but its awesome if you are interested and highly motivated. There is no institution that can manufacture you to be a great chef. Culinary school is hard training for the highest kitchen positions. It takes a lot of determination plus experience to finish the program. One cannot go into culinary school half hearted like a typical liberal arts college and expect to become a chef by acing the exams by memorization. I really hate those students who come into culinary school because they got kicked out of college due to failing grades from partying hard, therefore taking an "easy" program like culinary. Sorry but culinary is hard especially to those who do not cook. Yeah cooking and being a chef are two different things but if you can cook and gain the knowledge needed to lead a kitchen then you are a chef.
***** who told you how to talk like that. Your buddies from the ghetto. Maybe that's all you have to say because your both unemployed and really ignorant. You really help before you get into serious trouble.

A great chef embraces 3 key elements: Passion, Discipline and Aspiration. You're welcome! :-)
What about talent? (along with hardwork etc)
