This Japanese artist creates beautiful dragons using a single brush stroke

- A video showing Japanese artist Keisuke Teshima painting a dragon's full body with one single stroke, has gone viral.
The Kyoto-based artist performed the traditional technique in the video, using a calligraphy brush to create spellbinding patterns on the dragon's body without breaking the stroke.
Teshima painted four one-stroke dragons representing four seasons in February this year. The video, which was uploaded by Art Book on its Facebook on August 5, has been viewed more than 2 million times.

*SMALL STAGGERED HAND MOVEMENTS CREATE THE SCALE DESIGN* In case you haven't read, it aint a magic brush, just pure talent.
Just Some Lunatic Without a Mustache Thank you, finally someone who gets it!!
Just Some Lunatic Without a Mustache most of the “Magic” comes from where they place the paint on the paint brush, it needs to be in a specific place for it to make those shadows
@@chouette6042 the small staggering also counts as tiny stops so this isn't one stroke like they claim
@Troll Eaty I can understand why it's considered one stroke, I just like to be technical lol
Well I think you need a brush like that for doing this dragons
Didn't expect that one to be summer

One day, his computer froze and he dragged a window across the screen. He say the effect it made, and inspiration struck. The rest was history.
@Nothing... Oh man true, I just noticed that
Bet half the people in comment section think "with that brush I too can do that." Well good luck.

Itxazoa America needs to step their game up ;w;
Ahh, and don't forget their rich and _dark_ history that you Americans keep forgetting. :)
I cant even see the hand twitching 😭 that totally show the amount of trainings and techniques this person has done
In Japan, people create cool dragons with a brush.
*In America, people create white paint on a white canvas and sell it for millions of dollars.*
Ain't that the truth
That is kind of the point though. Although, at the very least I've found the "millions of dollars" thing to be troubling.
Really
@@ProtoIndoEuropean88 Just what this conversation needed, random bigotry.
But you forgot all the other cool creations people make in America.
The brush itself doesn't create this technique its the artist it self who does it
It’s the combination of brush and artist, smh
Saying the brush doesn’t have anything to do with it is entirely insincere.
Berry Bunny it's the paint
Hyper Indigo
Did you even read his comment?
He’s talking about the *technique* and how the brush does not convey the technique, the artist does.
Water - Did you even read *any* comment?
It’s obviously the paint doing it.
Ffs, the comment above you proves it
@@hyperindigo4924 its not the paint doing it dumbass, its her skill, and hand movements
I need that brush NOW

I’m an artists, and not to hate, buuutt it’s not the brush that does that pattern it’s her hand movements and the paint 😁
You can buy the brush anywhere, however, you can not buy the talent...
Should try to buy a normal brush, cut the top evenly
Cami Frog i was about to say the same kinda thing. I use pencil...and get asked too many times wat pencils i use?
I just reply...it doesnt matter.
It's not the magic of brushes, it's the strength of wrist control. There are also the material of paper, the consistency of the paint on the brush head, and the color matching.
Soooo beautiful... I would be honored to have a gorgeous work of art like this in my home.
Why does it seem like some people think the artist is only able to do this because of the paint brush??
kuramiion •w• - Because others are saying that it’s *only* the artist; Which is also false
There are a variety of artistic tools for a reason, and when people say that “it doesn’t matter what brush you use”, they’re setting others up for failure. Most of the people claiming one way or another don’t make art in the first place
Rachel Kang 60 percent the brush, rest the artist
Because use brain hurt hurt, theys noses dews it
For the same reason people think digital art is made by a computer: aka they are dumb.
Because he couldn't do that with a smaller brush maybe
Windows XP has stopped working.....

THATS EXACTLLY WHAT I THOUGHT THIS WAS XDDDDDDD

wow, his hands are amazing, they aee really steady. he has perfrct control over his movements. he worked really hard!
My best friends dad is really good at this technique. He drew dragons similar to this with a the same style and technique. She gave me one of his paintings for my birthday.
Anyone can be good at anything...yes some people have a natural ability to put wat they see onto paper, canvas or pavement. But with practise and patience...anyone can do anything...start small and build up to bigger things.
PREZZER UK hell no i managed to screw up at just one twist of a rubix cube
Noone has "natural ability" to do it. You only learn. You can't be born with it.
@@bonkbonk6117 course people have natural ability at things, thats why some people are better at things than others, thats why some people learn things faster than other people. Everyone has a natural ability at something. As i youngster i did alot of sketching no one taught me, i was just able to see things and transfer it to paper. Yes the more i did it the better i became, but i didnt learn to draw, i used my natural ability to draw, and then drew better as time went on.
If u like something and are good at something, theres a high chance u have a natural ability to do it. Iam not saying a person cant learn to draw. I also am good with wood and diy, no one taught me, i just have a natural ability to use wood, it just seems to work for me.
You don't need a teacher to learn something lol.
PREZZER UK you aren’t really special that is literally how most artists learn I’m doing the same thing
lovely toothpaste pattern

Saad Kayani sadly true
Well you guys got gun, which is prettt cool, in school that is
TheUltimate Weipin it rhymes i love it
Count Conkula
And the caribbean too... 😂
I hope they emphasized that the pattern is because of the artist's "hand movements" and isn't the result of the brush. Judging from the comments, they think he's using a different brush but it actually is just a regular brush. When you look closely, you can see the hands stopping from time to time to draw the pattern.
The splashes on the summer version made it even livelier! What an absolute master!
When you win chinese solitaire

Well... When you win the game the cards multiply and bounce off the screen leaving behind a trail of cards

When ur windows xp lags and u move the error sign around
I thought it was gonna be a Snake.....This is a Masterpiece.

Oh the struggle.
Amazing, really impressive technique
Glad to see real art still exists.
i thought it was a toothpaste at first...
😂😂😂
When you get unlimited error popups on your computer and you get bored
Besides otherworldly talent, I can't help wondering how the brush could hold that much paint!
It seem like there's an endless supply of it, in a rather dry looking brush, that just keep feeding out onto the paper. Very beautiful!
My gramps once tried out the two stroke technique, but having more than one stroke at a time proved lethal...
I think I am the only one here that thought in the thumbnail was a snake...
Anyone else thought they were tripping when this first came on!?😂
TBH!😁 I didn't read the whole title of the video😂
This is so oddly satisfying and calming
It's so pretty 😳 And the details- just amazing ❤️
What is the magic in the brush
Not the brush but The painter's hand movements creates the magic over here.
Kinks in the bristles
His hand movements and I think he applies different color pain to different areas of the brush
I think his brush is clean with no shit on it
The magic in the brush is practice
My dragon would look more like a snake on crack
Summer looks so cool and chilly
Looks as if the brush does all the work...while it's actually the artist's skill😍😍😍
Hah, I can do that by dragging the Windows XP dialogue box around
That's what she calls it.
This may be the most under rated comment on the video. Ur a genius 😂👌

Talent is 1% of the journey. Can you imagine how many failed dragons this artist has before he managed to perfect it.
what kind of paint/ink does he use?
Vianka Nicoletta one stroke painting is usually acrylic

That artist has an incredible skill which would be very hard to replicate.
It’s crazy how easy they make it look when that level of precision takes many years to achieve.
