The f35 is very impressive but my favorite jet is the f15 they have an perfect track record
The F-35C navy version doesn't take off or land vertically. Only the F-35B can take off and land vertically.

The F-35 is not a strike fighter. It is an attack fighter. Love the plane, but it will never replace an F-15 or F-22 or even an F-18. It needs two engines to do that and speed above mach 1.6.
The F-35 and F-22 are a team. Can think of the F-35 as the QB and can coordinate everything and make sure every one else knows their roles.
@@johnpaulbacon8320 But...the F-22 will never be on an aircraft carrier. The navy needs an air superiority plane that can land on a deck. So far, that is only the F-18 right now.
@sammcbride2464 The F-22 had been considered for navy use though. It would be a radical idea to make a navy version of the F-15. There are so many variations of the Eagle now. I'm curious as to what would be needed to make a reality.
@@johnpaulbacon8320 I think the people in charge always look forward to new designs instead of improving on existing designs. The F-22 is arguably the best plane on the planet, yet the politicians not only stopped the program....they ordered the dismantling of the assembly line. Who would do that with a brain? The F-22 could be evolved and even given strong landing gear for a ship landing. Pathetic planners to me.

The F-18 has 11 hard points. Way more damage per mission and per dollar than what the F-35 can do.
The F18 is more economical, then. Is it less costly to maintain and re-arm?

And will get eaten alive by enemy top tier jets, unless the F-35 or F-22 are playing point to target other stealth or low observable aircraft. Our 4th gen fighter are glorified missile trucks at this point, which works

@@gups4963 The network coordination of our planes is pretty impressive. Having one plane fire and forget and another stealth plane direct the projectile to the target is scifi like stuff.
