Just the fact they made the skit with off the shelf locomotives and rolling stock like Britt Alcroft had to do in the first 4 seasons. Impressive it actually blended in with clips taken from season one, and accurately re-created the little wooden figures. It’s a shame George Carlin ain’t with us anymore, because they would’ve been absolutely perfect if they got him to narrate.
This is the funniest shit ever. The jokes with the girl crawling under Henry had me on the floor. The explosion in the city was priceless. Thank you so much for uploading this.

@@anashepherd9546 I'm just saying that I prefer this version over the original "The Sad Story of Henry" because that was very sad especially the sad music at the end of that episode.
This skit is just brilliantly made and clearly had a lot of effort put into it. It's hilarious and good satire. Even if the inner nerd in me goes "IT'S BRAKE VAN!" Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do wish John pointed out Henry was let out of the tunnel in the next episode.
The fact that the crew of Last Week Tonight were able to make a better Henry model in O Scale compered to what ever Lionel is doing with there Thomas line is weird but brilliant.

Speaking as someone whose first ever hyperfixation was Thomas & Friends, this parody of the earliest seasons was honestly pretty well done. You could probably convince someone that this was an actual alternate take on one of the show's most infamous episodes... up until the swearing, anyway.

If this was a real Thomas and Friends story, Henry would be replaced by a generic BR Class 66 Diesel, probably called "Class 66", or "The Freight Diesel". He would be on loan from British Railways, and the same thing would happen to him as Henry, and in the end, instead of being bricked up in a tunnel, he'd be sent to Barrow-in-Furness, where he'd be stuck in a shed, awaiting his fate of being scrapped.

I just realized one oddity with the O Gauge model they used. They got almost every detail right… except Henry’s tender is missing its middle wheel set. He’s supposed to have 6 wheels on his tender, not 4. 030 Even so they did a splendid job making a custom O gauge Henry for this skit!
I like how accurate it is the the OG series. The medium really carries it. Also “?” Is funny as shit. I ALSO really like the bts reel at the end and John Oliver holding the Henry model at the end
I watched this and it was excellent!! Id recommend watching the full episode where the parody came from however, to better understand the shit that happens with American Railroading nowadays lol

i don’t think enough people are talking about how Accurately this parody is written relative to the style of the Original source (Sir Topham Hatt Excluded), even most of the swearing is actually in character for the humans of sodor. they obviously wouldn’t swear on the show or in the books, but if the books weren’t child friendly they probably would be yelling swears at the engines for blocking a crossing. Henry’s dialogue with The Fat Controller feels like a conversation right out of Thomas’ Sister Show TUGS, (Excluding Sir Tophams personality), & Henry saying “Oh Shit” when becoming a bomb train also lines up pretty closely with his character in just about every canon, though For different reasons.
