Whoever gets the ball first would practically automatically win and it would make the games way less fun. no matter what defensive attributes you got you ain't stopping that. Like on play now online, prime Bron could absolutely dominate in a 5v5 setting against great defenders... They been doing this for years, but for some reason, players want our attributes to be even more restricted and toned down.

@@rjdagoat3074Yeah 23 is the first 2k I spent vc on and I’ve been playing since 2k9. I used to grind out builds in a week back in middle school but this is the first game it took me longer than that since 2k10 (no endorsement deals and mid vc payouts)

2k14 is goated because a 99 overall played like one.
People want variety and not have the same repetitiveness. Otherwise giving the community true 99 overall builds would destroy that. People would all be using the same build
2K has been doing this since the archetype system was introduced damn near. its a way to make you feel better about maxing your character. Now even equipping badges will raise your overall. Take the badges off and leave the att's and its lower. You can tell somethings off when you actually face a high 90's player and view the "match up" thing before checking in. you'll notice they dog you in alot of the catatgories. even some regular 85-90 beat you out or are neck and neck with you.

This has since my career first came out. If they let you actually make a 99 ovr build everyone would have an op 7 foot centre that could do anything it would be unbalanced. There have always been caps on my players

I miss the old days where our myplayer was a demigod and could decimate any team! I understand it for online play but I wish they would allow us to just tear the NBA up in a similar offline experience.
The last time they showed a true rating was 2k14. I remember doing the vc glitch on a 5'7 "athletic build and it was a 74 overall maxed 😂
2k scamming us was never in question it was just how bad the scam actually was

Part of it is the fact that some stats affect overall differently based on position. Maxing out pass accuracy on a guard raises your ovr higher than it would if you were a big.
That and well a true 99ovr would be unstoppable.
So when I’m playing on a 74 I’m actually busting people with a 60 overall 😂😂crazy
the reasoning to this is that 2k rates you build 99 overall because you upgraded everything that you can, and you can't upgrade anymore, so 2k HAS to rate your build a 99
2k21 next gen actually gave you a 99 player

How do you get that much
The reason there isn’t a 99 is because you have the potential to have every stat at 99 even on your build you don’t so like if you’re 5’7” you can still have a close shot and post control at a 99 in my NBA but because you’re not Allowed to get it to 99 at 5’7” as a restriction it is counted as a attribute you can’t upgrade
I think the reason folks didn’t know this is bc they buy 2K, $70+ worth of game, and NEVER go outside of mycareer. There’s so much more to 2K and even the W is fun asf if you’ve got friends playing with you.
This. People complain about one mode every year when 2k has 4-5 different modes with varying replayability

@@kswervin I know he is usable in both blacktop and myteam. I am not sure about playnow or MyNBA but you can always use regular create a player in those modes for completely free.
I did that back in 2k20 for my builds and the best build I had was a 87. 87 is still the highest level for any of my builds in these past 2ks. Do it every year too see how much lower the build is.
i always thought about that in mycareer. everytime im subbed back in i check the player comparisons and even tho bros a 77 and im a 93 overall he still has like 4-5 attributes that are way better than mine

Yeah 2k not going back to overall accurate builds because they want to milk players for vc when you accidentally waste vc on a build or want different types of builds. I try my best to be all around but it’s getting harder every year.
Is an 80 speed 80 acceleration enough with an 88 speed with ball for a 6'3 PG, because I think I found the god build
My pg has a 80 speed 79 accel and 95 speed with ball and I find him slow. Speed goes up to 85 so I hope it makes a big difference.

I feel they should let us get the choice to max out a whole category, but at the same time we would have to pay the price on something else, like speed or can be a certain height, shorter players have more flexibility and the taller you go the more you’d have to sacrifice

They been doing this since they introduced archetype in 2k17. It’s to balance out the online play. You pretty much a glorified role player honestly and this why 2k need to give us offline and online stats because I ain’t feel like a DAWG since the 2k16 where you could everything. 2k11 was the best kuz it gave you all types of freedom
bruh, this has been the case since the beginning of 2k. they aren’t like, being sneaky. they just can’t have people running with 99 everything on park, wouldn’t be any fun. imagine, no build variety whatsoever, because everyone can do everything at the same ELITE level. that’s not a fun basketball game. yeah, when you’re using a full team, and have the context of the rest of the league and their overalls, it makes sense. but on park ? nah.

I saw in june they release attributes that we can apply and make our builds actually 99. It would make people have fun and then make people wanna create new builds. So win for community and for 2k

At first I thought this was real, until I went to my career to check my full attributes (the things you can’t adjust in the builder) and I learned that the badges you have on your build once maxed out can bring you up to a 99. And that some attributes require 2 separate attributes to increase (for example, post fade can be increased by upgrading post control and mid range).I can’t believe I defending 2K but no your weren’t using some 84 ovr this entire time 😅

Everybody knows that. People complained about "MyPlayer" being demi gods because they couldn't win. So now you're grinding to max out an 88 overall. You didn't have to copy all your attributes just put in MyTeam and they will tell you what your build is compared to other NBA players
I know why the reason this happened is because in the normal game (not my career) it has more stats on the players, while in mycareer it uses only the main stats you would use to play the game
Got gotta do intangibles, shot iq, pass perception, defensive & offensive consistency… I know I’m missing some others. Also your badges play into your OVR
It is because in franchise mode they have simulation stats like pass perception, and other basketball IQ related things. But, in my career they don’t have those simulation stats

At this point 2k should just let us go back to making demigods from 2k15/2k16. The player build system in those games were a lot more simplistic and not so overly suppressive with what you can or can’t upgrade to your player.
What we fail to take into account is when you go to the player builder they have so much more stats that go up. Don’t have us go back to 2k11 I don’t want to pay vc for offensive and defensive consistency to get my overall up

Man I thought I was the only one that thought this … now when I buy vc I rarely use it for my Build I grind it all the way out and actually learn how to use my player without spending so much in vc to be better . It’s more fun in my opinion

If we look back in 2k13 for ex, a 99 was a 99. Even in 2k16 and although it doesnt really matter too much, if you are free to play playing mycareer as a 60, you are actually much lower so its not fun.

If you didn’t know badges make your overall higher in 2k this goes for every player

2k player discovers percentage ratings. you can’t be a true 99 ovr if every stat isn’t near maxed out.
Your game play decides your true overall. The intangibles , awareness and overall skill . You lower those stats on those "99 ovr" nba player ratings and youll see.

found that like in 2k17... 2k16 u could actually be 99 ovr with all badges u was putting work on in my carer on gold.. i had like 48 badges and those were not limited on a build. like u vould have center badges playing as sg..
A 99 at any park in the world isn’t a 99 in the nba. It’s as simple as that. It’s just realistic. The best street all player would be good in the nba but he won’t be the best. Makes perfect sense to me

i know this videos a year old but it’s because of all of the badges you have in mycareer, if you add the same badges to the created player his overall would go up and if you remove badges from nba players their overall goes down.
I realized how much we getting scammed when I put my build into my nba, exact every, came out to be like a 80, even tho my original build was a 97🤦🏾♂️
With or without badges you should be 85-88 with them
Tangibles messes us up with builds, the stats we can’t even boost, like tangibles, pass vision

Another way to find out is to match your my career ratings to your create player rating and you will see your true overall
Dude you weren't able to be a true 99 build since 2k15 bro! You could literally max out all of your stats, and truly got what you paid all your money on plust the sick animations!
Because the intangibles on myplayers are high. Intangibles literally do nothing but make your player look better than what he actually is
I noticed this too when I tried making a Nick Van Exel build based off his player stats. The build was at 99 but his real overall was only 82

The reason is because there is way more attributes that you have to worry about so the normal attributes that you see in the MyPlayer Builder give you less if you put it into a created player
its because the intangibles slider are there just to boost players overals. If u remove everyones intangible to a 40 then there are like 2 90 overals in the game
