You can also use the Nextdoor app to source from your neighborhood. I sourced two expensive golf travel bags for free from the app and flipped them for $150 on a Craigslist later that weekend. I also sourced free women’s golf shoes that sold for $30.
You can also sell items on the app for local pickup sales and create “In Search Of” listings when you need packing & shipping supplies. I picked up four large bags of bubble wrap today.

What's funny (and I've mentioned this before on your channel) is that years and years ago, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, I worked as a temp. at various Amazon locations in Seattle. This was VERY early on, about 1994-1998. In the employee breakroom in almost every location, management had these big cardboard boxes filled with customer returns. Management said anyone could take anything for free out of those boxes. I got wise and started bringing a big duffel bag to work. At the end of the day, when no one was really paying attention to us temp. workers, I would fill my duffel bag with books, music, the odd laser disc, etc. What I didn't want I would sell and I made some extra cash for sure. Back then, the minimum wage was about $6.50/hour and I needed all the extra cash! Wow. Good times. And Jeff Bezos was a jerk even back then! LOL.

This is more of a niche thing, but I go to junkyards, the kind where you pull the parts yourself, and get interior parts to sell on eBay. Its more work than thrifting, but the ROI is really good and I love doing it.

I recently started volunteering at a local thrift store helping sort through the donations. I wasn't sure how they would feel about me being a reseller . . . so naturally I let it slip on the first day to the guy in charge. Thankfully, he has no problem with it. In fact, they allow volunteers first pick on the donations at a reduced rate. They just asked that I tithe a portion back to the charity, but it's not a requirement.

I like the free section of Craigslist. A lot of furniture. I always joke that You could probably open a used furniture store and stock it entirely from the free section of Craigslist. Quite a few pool tables, Jacuzzis, pianos - things people don’t want to pay to have removed. I picked up a box of engineering and technical books from the next town over. One sold for $40 and a few more have watchers. I recently drove about an hour to pick up a free 1920s typewriter that has comps of over $150. I have it listed now on ebay. It may not be consistent, and the good things usually go quickly, but it may be worth trying as a source if you’re unfamiliar with it.

Just found your channel recently and have been consuming them at an alarming rate! Another place that I’ve found over the years of Amazon/EBay is used book stores. Love your channel, you really inspire me to push forward and scale my resale business! You’re right about Goodwill and it’s my #1 source too, lots of them here in Texas. Just today I scored a 2019 Joshua Harrod’s Christmas teddy bear for $10, and the comps on solds are going for $120-140! I’m a reseller on eBay plus I run a local resale shop, and one source that really works for me is auction sites for estate auctions and government surplus auctions. I almost always manage to get high dollar items for a fraction of their worth. Great video! 👍

I suggest shopgoodwill and filter your local goodwill if possible. You can do free pick up which gives you a leg up on bidders out of town. Got a brand new TCL tv and sound bar for only $40 no shipping cause i picked it up. Also offer up has been great for me. Got 200 sealed dvds for $50, made about $500. 120 blu rays for $70, made about 300. Nintendo SP that wouldnt turn on for $15, all it needed was a $4 battery, sold for $120. These are few scores from just this week. Try to not keep your eggs in one basket. Hope this helps someone.

This was a great video. I have tried most of these types of sourcing. The retail arbitrage was the one with which I have only had minimal success. I picked up a bunch of toys that scanned well, high sell through rate etc. but then they still took 6 to 12 months to sell most of them. And then I picked up men's shoes at Marshall's but they are not moving so great, I wish now that I would have only bought one pair to try that out instead or 4-5. But as the Crazy Lamp lady says...I paid to learn. I think I will stick to the other avenues, I have a pretty good mom & pop thrift store here. Those other 3 resellers are new to me, so I will check them out. Thanks Josh.

Loved this video and learned a lot. How very, very true that so much can be found in the average home. In just a few years, even a two-person family will accumulate "stuff" that really ads up. Read a Marie Kondo book or watch some "KonMari" videos. If an item is more than a month or so old and it does not rate an affirmative answer to Mari's key question, "Does it spark joy"?, then list it, then and there. You will be making your life more livable as well as making TH-cam Bucks.

My dad has a prosthetic leg. I never thought about that being profitable. He has like 7 one ones in his closet and I just asked him about it and he said go for it, but the rest of the conversation went like
Me: So how much is that one you're wearing worth?
Him: It don't matter cause you aint getting it.
    Me: Hear me out
    Him: Like 6k
Me: Can't you just tell insurance that you lost it?
    Him: No?? They don't care.
Then he yells to my mom: Now I gotta sleep with my damn leg on, she'll be done sold it
    😂😂😂
