It's not original to anything we haven't heard before. He can sing but he doesn't stand out enough amongst other singers.
+Vicky Taylor Then why does him singing "ashes" in this song carry so much raw emotion? I'd say that line alone makes him stand out and shows what he's capable of that others aren't. There are plenty of technically great singers (Labrinth included), but for me, what matters most is the soul behind it. Labrinth has it, and I wish the pop music industry as a whole would adopt that mindset. Then I'd probably listen to it a lot more of it.
