    I feel like waves going backwards if I want a plug-in I want to own it and that’s it and not pay a monthly subscription

      I agree, I rather just buy the plugin and be done with it.

    The word per-pet-u-al means "never-ending or change."
    I have waves plugins, but I rarely get the upgrade plan because some plugins need to fit into my workflow. The waves concept of AI assist makes sense, but the cost for plugins that would not fit into my workflow needs to make better business sense to me. I have plugins that I rarely use that cost me money and only have a few buttons that change a sound or frequency, but the UI looks great. The free plugins out there have almost more valuable than the paid versions.
    Waves Subscription needs to make more business sense for me, no. Plugin companies will only control what VSTs are good in your workflow; whether you need it or not, you pay for it. I noticed that many paid plugins have several parameters that do not affect anything.
    For example, I do a subscription of $249 a year for 200 plugins; out of those 200, I only use 50 that fit in making sound design and music productions for a year. One hundred and fifty unused were paid for, plus another $249 to restart a year over again with three new plugins added.

    The issue is not the subscription, but just how they played the whole thing, holding people hostage of their new subscription model by not giving any other options to all the customers that supported them all these years… without these customers there would be no Waves around to start with, and now all we get is the middle finger. Just a bad move, that can have the potential to destroy their brand

    I believe that music producers should call a spade a spade thus sending waves back to the drawing board where this is concerned. Just another bill for everyone to pay every month on top of bills we already paying. Bro you can't say look at the bright side, when people have paid for updates over and over then out of nowhere we paying a yearly or monthly bill bro be serious, there is no bright side. Some small studios aren't even making money from their music and for the people with home studios, it's not like they are raking in money every day. But for everyone that is pushing for people to be ok with this hope affiliate money is worth it.

      I agree with that! im not an affiliate and never said look at the bright side lol I believe once you pay for it out right, ITS YOURS. Not just subscription only. I think this needs to get regulated before it gets ugly.

    Important Update: Perpetual Licenses and Updates Will Be Back Alongside Subscriptions
    Mar 29, 2023
    Following your feedback, we are bringing back the option to purchase and update perpetual Waves plugin and bundle licenses, side-by-side with the new Waves Creative Access subscriptions. We are working to make perpetual licenses available to you again as quickly as possible. We will post real-time updates here as soon as they are available.
    Letter from Meir Shashoua, Waves CTO and Co-Founder - March 29, 2023:
    Dear Waves community,
    Over the past few days, many of you have expressed concerns about our decision to discontinue perpetual plugin licenses and our move to an exclusive plugin subscription model. I would like to start by apologizing for the frustration we have caused many of you, our loyal customers. We understand that our move was sudden and disruptive, and did not sufficiently take into consideration your needs, wishes, and preferences. We are genuinely sorry for the distress it has caused.
    After respectfully listening to your concerns, I want to share with you that we are bringing back the perpetual plugin license model, side-by-side with the new subscriptions. You will again be able to get plugins as perpetual licenses, just as before.
    In addition, those of you who already own perpetual licenses will once again be able to update your plugins and receive a second license via the Waves Update Plan-again, just as before. This option, too, will be available alongside and independently of the subscription program.
    We are currently putting all our efforts into making perpetual licenses available to you again, as quickly as possible. In the meantime, you can keep-up-date on this webpage, where we will post real-time updates as they are available.
    I would like you to know that we are committed to you, our users. We listened to your feedback, and we will continue to listen to you. Waves is a company filled with users and creators, just like you, and we are all as passionate about the products as you are. With this in mind, we will strive to find the way to make things right by you, and hopefully regain your trust.
    Thank you for your feedback and continued support-I wish you all the best,
    Meir Shashoua
    CTO and Co-Founder

    Do you guys run your studio like a legiy business? First its a write off and secondly one session pays for the plugins for a year! And you gett evry new plugin they make. Maybe I'm just blessed, I did spen $60k in analog gear last year.

    Waves subscription falls short from what other brands offer for the same price or less for subscription. Its highly likely that if Waves refuse to update or fix there plugins then people will do it them selfs crack the plugins and share them.

    this is going to be my problem I'm willing to pay for the plug-ins just don't have the drive to learn how to mix my own music feel like it takes time I don't have I'd rather record my own music but send it to get it mixed by someone who doesn't rap I guess so I'll see I guess idk I hate mixing rather beats or songs

  • @MixedByBL

    A lot of your point were invalid bro but keep it going!! sounds like an affiliate stepping on egg shells LOL. Waves has been here probably longer than you have been doing music what about them that has spent 10s of thousands to use their plugins 30 years ago? when I first bought my waves bundle you probably wasn't born bro you have to account for those people SMH

    • @30killabeatz

    There is one valid business case: you're a beginner, but professional and you don't own any Waves, yes then it might be an option. For all the others it sucks, that's the bottom line. So what are you babbling.

  • @thestronggoodmusic
    @thestronggoodmusic ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This gonna force producers to create their own sounds or make beats with real instruments ie upright bass, guitar, piano

    • @30killabeatz
      @30killabeatz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’t going to force us to do something lol. Personally, I’m not subscribed because I own most of the waves plugins I need but I may have no choice in the future.

    Also, using waves plugins does not mean one will be better than someone else. I know people that can mix the pants off of others with stock plugins over someone that might have every plugin under the sun. While it is an opinion, it’s honestly bad ethos and extremely misleading. Especially for those starting out. I’ll say it again, using waves plugins does not make anyone better than anyone else.
