Yep! It's on my Cesar/J. None Spotify list! It has not just the songs that feature those two in it (my favorite line-up!) but also their first songs ("We're Good" with Cesar, "What's This?" with J. None-and if I'm wrong on that, feel free to correct me!) with the group, and J. None's last "official song" even though I just consider him a member on reverse leave, LOL!
This actually does reference a more recent song, Gwen Stefani's version, "If I Were A Rich Girl," probably because younger people may only know that version. It came out in, so it's still fairly old, just not AS old.
Thanks for another great reaction - this is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels! And such an underrated cover from Voiceplay! I didn’t know what to expect when it first came out, but they did an amazing job with it.
I am very old, so I am sometimes a very traditional person. But I love this! Ashley has been in several of their videos, she is great! After she did We Don't Talk About Bruno with them, she went on to do the live show at a private Disney event. She is amazing.
I’m a pentaholic! 😁 I guess I can spread the love! 💜💜💜 I love Fiddler! I love this arrangement! Can’t wait to hear more from them & some from Geoff himself! 💜💜💜
They originally had a more contemporary medley ready to go, but there was some controversy surrounding the original material that they didn’t want to be part of. So Layne whipped up this arrangement in only a couple days. (Layne has saved the day multiple times with his quick arranging talents, starting with when they were on The Sing Off and more recently with Running Up that Hill - also with Ashley)
Yay, thank you for the great reaction! As much as I love VP by themselves whenever they collaborate with another artists, especially one of the ladies, it just really brings in a breath of fresh air and makes it that much more special!
I so love that they do songs like this! Introducing Broadway Magic to a newer generation! My mom raised me on musicals, so I love them so much, and they really enrich your musical experiences and appreciation for music. I really, REALLY hope they do a song from Robert Preston's "The Music Man" (as much as I adore Matthew Broderick, I would never recommend his version to anyone!) someday. I've shown that to people who professed to hate musicals, but they all loved it. Professor Harold Hill is just an awesome character, and Preston is totally the OG of it!
Did you watch DavidK’s reaction to Voctave’s cover of Goodnight My Someone? I had never picked up on the similarity of the melodies. And now I can’t get it out of my head. It has been decades since I’ve watched that. I remember lots of it but mostly I remember Ron Howard singing Gary Indiana. Our community theater did it several years back. The highlight of the show to me was when they started playing 76 Trombones with our high school marching band came down the aisles playing it.
@@janetdw Oooh, I'll have to look that up! Thanks! And the marching band is a perfect finale! Looked it up! Wow, stunning! Isn't EJ Cardona in Voctave?
Great reaction! I really enjoy your enjoyment and appreciation of the artists you present. Even when one isn’t a favorite of yours you respect the effort. You mean you’re watching baseball instead of UA v Washington game? Well, I guess college basketball, or these teams, aren’t everyone)s cup of tea. Enjoy the game!
I like this version. Layne arrangement - he always makes life difficult for Geoff 😋. Ashley has an amazing voice. They all shine in this one. 🌹🕊
If I recall correctly, this was the first time they featured Ashley Diane, AND the first performance with Cesar as a member.

You can tell its a Layne arrangement because it features Geoff more than himself. And the smirk Layne gave when Geoff went into falsetto is a giveaway
This one is underrated I think or doesn’t get a lot of reactions but it’s so good! ❤

OK, so I loved this, but then I love Fiddler and thought making this more hip hop/dubstep was really creative. Plus I loved that flex by Ashley.
"Voiceplayafying" love it. New coined term.
VoicePlay loves to toss in some dubstep influence whenever possible and it definitely updates the song.

One of my favorites! A very joyful rendition!
Got it in one! I do enjoy this and Ashley is terrific. Check her and VP doing Sherod Returns.
