Thanks for the video. The watch looks great. I finally bought one Monday night/Tuesday morning after months of trying. Can't wait to get it in. That clasp is definitely beefy, and seems to be the biggest complaint of the timefactors forums. Great job and thanks again!

You forgot to mention: this watch, while an homage to the 1016, actually packs a bit of horological punch on its own! Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay carried two watch brands with them on their first ascent, and one of them was a smiths watch. Just like how Rolex designed the explorer as inspired by the oyster perpetual that made it to the top of Everest, smith released a watch model called the ‘Everest’ in the 50’s that was inspired by their half of the timekeeping on the historic first ascent.
    So in a way, it’s kind of a super-homage 😁

As we see..Rolex has always been the king of marketing. 😉

This Smiths Everest PRS-25 watch has no direct connection to the Smiths watch company that made a watch worn by Sir Edmund Hillary. As the Smiths Watches from Timefactors website reads, "The "Smiths" watches produced by Time Factors are not in any way connected with the "Smiths" watches produced by Smiths Group plc until 1979."
So this watch is an homage of a Rolex model that was designed to commemorate their Oyster Perpetual that accompanied Hillary. Which is weird, because it has nothing to do with the Smiths watch. *scratches head*

I got one of these last month. Really nice watch. I found it shockingly small out of the box even compared to my usual 40mm watches but after wearing you soon get used to it. Agree on the bracelet but I got it to wear on leather and NATO’s etc. I especially like it on my Erikas original strap.

You could swap the clasp with a vintage type one. It could be found on ebay or Alix. Apart from the clasp and that noisy miyota, i think the watch 10/10.

Congratulations on a beautiful piece, I believe Eddie has put a smaller clasp on the new batch of 36mm pieces while still using the heavy duty one on the 40mm models as it has a 22mm bracelet and doesn’t overpower the watch as it does with the 36mm model..

Greetings! I purchased a Rolex Explorer 1016 new in 1986 and had Rolex put it on a Jubilee bracelet (never even got the Oyster bracelet). You might consider an aftermarket Jubilee bracelet for the Smith's PRS-25. It looks great. You might really like it!

If you fancy trying a bracelet more in keeping with the watch I’ve just got a watchgecko oyster that tapers from 20 to 16mm. The extra end link kits work with the original smiths end links for a factory look. It’s the type of bracelet the watch should have come on.

Mate, spanishwatchcollector on instagram here... I absolutely love this watch and thanks a lot for the video. I already own the OVM 39 and the Smiths is on my radar. My point of view with homages is that as long as it is inspired by a watch that is no longer produced - I'm fine with it. Thank you and keep it up!

I know there is a massive difference in price but i would like to hear your view as there doesnt seem to be this comparison with the black bay 36.

Matheesha Kirtisinghe Hi. They used to open Tuesdays at 7.30am but now it seems to have changed to Sunday 3pm (uk time). It stays open until the owner has as many orders as he can handle and then closes for the week. It can open and close very quickly when a new model comes out. You have to get in early.

Movement is Japanese. Rest including assembly is most likely Chinese. Nowhere else can do this for this sort of money. I found the main case supplier from ages ago when trying to get some of my designs made. Quality is very decent but not spectacular. Machinery they have is mid range but their prices and engineers are very affordable for someone looking at starting their own brand.

I have the prs-25 as well since a month or two. I have some vintage Rolex 34mm and 36mm as well, but just couldn’t afford a real 1016. The Smiths is a lovely homage, but I experience it to be like a 34mm. Very strange: it measures 36mm but looks and feels like a 34mm.
