I substitute olive oil for the butter and use fiori di Sicilia extract along with the mandarin/ lemon zest and vanilla extract. The olive oil makes the dough a little more "delicate" to handle but the taste is superb and it's healthier. Buon Natale ❤
Thanks a lot for this video. I made these cookies and they turned out to be wonderful. I did some changes though. No Tahini, no mixing the butter with hands. Wet ingredients in the machine, added to dry ingredients , added a tea spoon of orange zest to the dough, left in the fridge for one hour, cut the dough to suitable pieces and in the oven for 15 minutes and again 15 minutes. They taste fantastic and thanks to you.

I loved these cookies as a child, when I visited my Sicilian grandmother. This week, in her honor, I will try your recipe. I do remember them as a bit darker. Have you ever tried toasting the sesame seeds first? I love that you did it all by hand.

Delicious! Note: You said double for a few minutes but you then put back in the oven for 15 minutes. Which one is it? I tried 10 minutes for the second bake and they were very good. Thank you.
