    My favorite Bob Segar song. Such a beautifully worded song about men and what they go through.

    Beautiful lyrics/ melody by Rodney Crowell, a brilliant country artist.

    The pride of Michigan! Mr. Bob Seger is a fucking legend. There was a quote in one of the newspapers years ago that said Seger was so popular here that it could have been like he was one of the Beatles. Never wrote or played a bad song.

      An insult to be compared to the Beatles.

    This is a cover of a song by country singer Rodney Crowell. Very similar, cowboy style. Nice loping feel to the music. Contrasts with the deep lyrics.

    I just love Bob Seger. My mama was the one who introduced me to him. Tomorrow is her birthday. I ordered her a Bob Seger tshirt & I can’t wait to see her reaction.
    You’ll Accompany Me is another one by him

    I think you nailed it brother. His songs can put you in a foot stomping' rock out mode, or a really deep dive into your own personal life. I LOVE Bob Seger.❤ So glad you enjoyed this one. Greetings from Ohio.👍👍

    Another beautiful song written/performed by Rodney Crowell. Rodney is another rabbit hole you should get into - Leaving Louisiana By The Broad Daylight. The Houston Kid, Sex and Gasoline, Obsenity Prayer and 40 Winters are all great songs.
    Best line - "Heaven opens up the door
    Where angels fear to tread"....

    • @allenelliott5085
      @allenelliott5085 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. Rodney is so underrated. Incredibly prolific songwriter. Until I Gain Control Again, Stars on the Water, Fever on The Bayou, Still Learning How to Fly and It Aint Over Yet.

    You've done 2 from the Live Bullet album, "Turn the Page" and "Ramblin Gamblin Man". That really is the next place to go with Seger, to get the "Travelin Man + Beautiful Loser" medley. (And Nutbush, Katmandu, Heavy Music and Get Out of Denver)
    For a stand alone, you haven't done his most well known love song "You'll Accompany Me", or the bouncy "Rock and Rock Never Forgets" or "Horizontal Bop".
    After these 3 and Live Bullet, you are starting to get into less well charted territory. Still some lovely songs. I like to put on "Shining Brightly" when I need a lift.

    • @thomasfreeman2088

  • @matthewdrake4385

    Bob never made a bad song. He didnt write this track, but it's awesome with his voice. John Mellencamp, Bob Seger and Bruce Springsteen just put in a time or place just with their voices.

  • @allenelliott5085
    @allenelliott5085 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    For more Seger, "Rock and Roll Never Forgets" or for fun "Making Thunderbirds". If you want something really good but not as widely known, try "The Fire Inside" or "American Storm".
    As previously mentioned from Live Bullet do the "Travelling Man/Beautiful Loser" medley, Katmandu and Get Out of Denver.

    Thank you Pat for this and all the future Seger jems. I'm thrilled to read the comments from your highly insightful commenters. Thank you to all those who comment and help guide us to more of Mr. Seger's under-appreciated repertoire. Keep shining Pat. Chuck in NE Kansas

    Heavy Music was an early hit in the midwest. Back I'm those days your music only went as far as the radio station that played it. His song "Rosalie" was about the lady deciding what played on CKLW across the Detroit river. Big hit radio at it's best. Check out the history of CKLW. Lots of internet content about it after a recent reunion.
