    Would you be able to advise the part number for the digital bumpers? I’d like to order a replacement to repair a friend’s controller, but Battle Beaver refuses to provide me with this information.

    If I'm cleaning connection points on one of the boards in my controller, would regular rubbing alcohol work? Or would you recommend something else?

    • @UberMicroRepairs
      @UberMicroRepairs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, rubbing alcohol is Ok however it is usually about 70% alcohol and 30% water. Water is bad and can cause electrolysis to happen (currosion when a electric current is applied), so if you do use rubbing alcohol make sure it's dry before connecting the battery / USB cable. I use 99% alcohol so I don;t have to worrk about it drying since it's not electricly conductive.

      I don't know TBH. We do get a steady stream of Battle Beave contorllers in for repair. I'm also intrested and will report back with another video if I see an improvment in the hole size.

    • @nsEra
      @nsEra ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@UberMicroRepairs Nope, they still haven't improved on the back button hole size. The main reason I returned my Battle Beaver was due to the back button having too much wiggle/play creating lateral movements, and not actuating when clicked. Only Uber has the solution where the button, when pressed, is dead center - like at 5:20.

    important question: I took my controller to a repair shop and they are saying the problem with the buttons on the back is that they are oxidizing or corroding I guess? And that they'll just clean them and give the controller back. Could this possibly be the problem or am I wasting my money? The controller is only two months old and has never gotten wet or anything like that. If that is possibly the problem, is there any way to prevent corrosion from happening in the future? Like contact cleaner every couple of weeks or something like that

    • @UberMicroRepairs
      @UberMicroRepairs  ปีที่แล้ว

      We see this issue a lot with the likes of battle brave ans such. We don't clean them we always replace them with moisture & dust resistant switches. I guess they could be right due to swear and what not... But I doubt it after only 2 months use.

    • @UberMicroRepairs
      @UberMicroRepairs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not SCUF! That one is out of the question IMO. Personally for me It's between Battle Beaver and AIM... Both have good mod work but both can develop issues. BB can have issues with rear buttons and AIM have issues with the digital triggers. However this is only based on what I've had in to fix and controlelrs that are up to a year old. They could have fixed the issues by now.

    Apologies if you addressed this, but is there any concern with the hot glue peeling up/separating over time? I saw that you scored the plastic to help the hold, but my (inexperienced) gut feeling is that it would still fail or stop holding the button steady after a few months. Is there something I'm not considering, or is the glue just stronger than I think?

What are the cables to use as well when soldering to the buttons ? (amateur at this making sure I don't mess up)

However these micro switches are so generec I'm sure with the dimensions I said you should be able to find some. the 6x6mm is the square base and the 7mm is the hight from the square base to the top of the round plunger.
