As someone with actual mental illnesses including diagnosed depression: mental illness with never make you molest your sister or kill anyone. I literally hate when criminals try and use mental illness as an excuse. Most of us just have these as a result of child abuse and want to be the opposite of those who hurt us

I have BPD and C-PTSD. With my BPD it causes me to do things impulsively during manic episodes. And lemme tell ya, not once have I thought about doing disgusting things to my siblings. I sincerely hope James' sister is living a better life and getting help for everything she's endured. I'm a victim of CSA as well and it's something you never forget. My heart goes out to everyone suffering with mental illness and traumas.

James Bear is probably one of the few people that I truly hate. I believe that most people have some room to redeem themselves. But James is just a complete monster. And it makes me sick that I see people defend him because he was 13. Like him being a teenager makes SAing his younger sister ok.
I just feel truly bad for the girl. She has to go through life with that trauma. And to rub even more salt in the wound, one of her worst moments in her life is now public knowledge for everyone to know about. I wish the worse for James.

Worst thing I've done when depressed is drink and drive and almost deleted my self but never thought about molesting my siblings or minors. when I feel depressed I get no sexual impulses for anything just impulses to hurt my self. Just putting this in perspective as someone who is diagnosed with severe depression. No excuse to use depression as a way to cause harm to someone else in that manner.

I actually really used to like James because I liked how smooth his animations were and thought some of them were actually pretty funny. Speaking as an artist myself, I always love looking at other people's work/animations but once I learned about what happened, my jaw actually dropped and I just stared at the screen for so long. This dude's excuse for traumatizing his own sister makes me feel so sick, I struggle with depression and never ONCE had I even thought about doing any of that with anyone in my family then him claiming to be a minor too at 13?? I feel sorry for his sister, and it’s very disheartening that it was all brushed under the rug for so long. While James obviously should be in prison without shadow of a doubt, the mum should probably be in prison too. Considering that the mum ignored her daughter and did nothing to protect her and get her justice, it would be a form of negligence. Where I live it’s actually illegal to know about sexual abuse and not report it to law enforcement, though I’m unsure of what that’s like in the jurisdiction James lives in.
Shit is like this is why I cannot look at teens as children. Minors, yes but not kids. Little kids don't do disgusting things like this. Teens who are budding serial killers and peds do. If I had a quarter for every time someone who's a TH-camr whose name is James who has done something controversial, I'd have two quarters which I find kinda strange how that happened twice.
one thing is being a child and doing what he did (not excusing, just explaining why) because a lot of children who are abused often become abusers without knowing the significance of their actions. but the fact he continued it, excuses the behavior because he was young, and has this type of content just explains he is still the same person.

Some people have confused James Bear for AnimatedJames, mainly because they’re both named James and have a similar art style. James Bear isn’t AnimatedJames however. They have a 5 year age difference, and AnimatedJames is black and James Bear is probably white since his sister is confirmed white by those photos, unless they have interracial parents which I don’t think they do.
I think there was definitely more going on here(Not pointing fingers at the sister, she's not who I'm talking about). If the mom was that bad, it may not be a stretch that she was cold to James to.

I used to be a fan of James Bear. When I first heard the allegations, I thought they were almost over-the-top, but I still considered them.
Then he admitted to it all, and I unsubscribed almost immediately. I’m the oldest sibling myself, and I wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to my siblings. I’ve had my hard times with mental health, but that doesn’t mean that I’m going to take that out on them.
