QUESTION 🙋🏽‍♂️: One thing I haven’t heard much is how your ARC +.020”(or more) Rods affect thinks like piston to valve and deck height, pushrod lengths, and even piston rock at the TDC? Are we ok to deck the head and add a +.020” then run a .308 with 1.3 Venom RR’s on a non hemi head for example? And what’s the advantage of getting a longer rod over decking the head? Would love to hear the purpose and point of the longer rods and ARC’s intended use with high lift Cams and ratio rockers being added to the equation.
    Thank you sir 🤙🏼

What about spring retainer to guide clearance? That would be a good topic to cover sometime. Appreciate the videos. I keep learning something new.

That would fall under the area of checking for coil bind. You want a minimum of .080 before spring coil bind and I use the same for retainer to guide clearance.

Man thumbs up for keeping the camera in landscape mode instead of portrait! Keep that up. Also good video. I get a lot out of your vids

I don’t think there’s anyone on here that gives our soo much info . Ty but tbh with you , it’s a lil annoying getting interrupted when we’re so focused on your vids .

Clay method is good for a reason. You should of mentioned it. Valve radial clearance? It shows the radial clearance of the valve on the piston. Not so much piston to valve clearance. Piston rock is another issue. I like to use a dual dial indicator bridge against the piston pin width. My question is this, how can you use the compressed gasket thickness if each gasket can measure differently? I use to work in a Automotive Machine Shop. This is why im asking this questions.

That measuring device i like alot but, why isn't it bolted down on all corners? Deflection is your enemy. Another question, why are you not making the rocker arm angle correct? I understand the amount of lift from cam but, its all correctable. Im a firm believer in over size Push rods to. Many don't know that push rod's under high rpm (6500 RPM on up) starts to become a wet noodle effect. Push Rods only on for a ride. The weight of them is not a factor at all. Hemi head's are different animal on checking valve to piston Clearance. Thats why you see in automotive hemi's the piston's are fly cut. Making eye brows is where clay method works in checking valve radial clearance not piston to valve clearance.

Can you run stock length push rods with a 308 cam

Just shy of an hour and a half long, thats a video I would take to heart without a second opinion. Most of these diyers only use up like 3 mins to explain how simple it is to work on small engines. Good job sir. You are freakin boss.
