Great vid, thanks. Very happy when Underhill got called up after being left out. Sure, we got the early try and got the crowd up, but then the Boks split our defence open for 3 tries in aboit 10 minutes, which was just deflating. We seem allergic to taking the lead. Feddy Stewart on Grant Williams was not a switch off moment. Williams is faster than the Bok wingers. By some distance too. He literally had the ability to run around the outside of Freddy and there was nothing that he could do about it. Ditto Freddy on Kolbe. And Sleightholme on Kolbe. Look at the Kolbe highlights reels for about 50 steps that have turned out exactly the same way.
Congratulations Alex. It's really quite Grim for Borthwick. 8 wins from 21 against tier 1 opponents of which 2 Italy, 3 Wales and 2 Argentina. Only the Ireland win against a top side.
England played well. Real grit. Marcus is a really amazing 10. More nervous with him paying than Farrel. The Bok Backs are phenomenal and we have a country full of them. Bokke. So proud of this team!
Goode analysis… Always wondered why Alex didn’t get more chances with England. I am a believer that England would have gone further if they had used the Farrell Goode partnership the way Saracens did. Surely when you have a team competing and winning Europe you take that into your national team. When all is said and done Goode will go down as one of the Prem’s best ever players/full backs and should be considered Mr Saracens. Personal highlight was the season Saracens beat Clermont in the final. Thought Goode was the best player on the pitch that game and the whole European comp he was unplayable. I remember they compared him to Willie Le Roux who was at wasps, Goode was superior in all the stats, incredible player and importantly a nice bloke. Wish him all the best.

@mikecl8803 Definite improvement for sure. But losing can become a bitter habit. 6Ns first 2 are up against Ireland and France. England's recent wins have come against Wales and Italy only.
@rodwellchigome7567 yeah I agree sadly losing can become a habit, like winning does too, but, England did beat Ireland last 6 nations and very nearly beat France , so they win big games, I just think once they click, they will be top of the north again, Ireland are great, but look to be on a slight decline, don't think they will fall yet, still got some great players coming in. England has improved a lot. However without Smith you are lost. Where is the new blood. 5_6 new guys should have been blooded. Management not looking to future, getting a win was more important.
England's game is showing signs of where they are heading, I think it's really promising. Steward had a great game but I think its a big ask for a man of his frame to tackle international wingers and he gets exposed on 1-2-1's. I'd love to see him at 12.

Until the next world cup. He was low on experience when he became England coach and is still learning on the job. I'd still rather have him than his predecessor but would've liked to have seen either O'Gara or Townsend instead.
You can’t judge him from the RWC year. He did the best he can with his limited time with the playing group. Though this year has been abysmal but England are only just off the pace. They’ve competed in every one of their losses. They’re marginally off the top teams; the gap needs to be closed during the 6N. Anything below 2nd place would be a failure
It’s a South African thing to grab a chance moment and turn it to an advantage. England had chances and did not capitalise. Marcus Smith can’t be the only one who makes magic happen on the field. There were plenty of moments that I was tense - the Boks were not exactly playing the way I expected, except in flashes.
Happily enough for the rest of the world, Pollard will not last forever to finish the job like he did yesterday and at the last RWC. Libbock is not of the same league when facing the posts. I am sure that England will be ready for the 6 Nations and the wind will eventually turn. I did not know this excellent show yet, congrats Andy!
The boks did well vs 16 men in my opinion. But in all seriousness Steward is a massive problem for us. He is the best in the air. I think the difference between the sides was South Africa know how to win. We played three 1 point wins in a row in a World Cup. So the players know how to win and win big moments. They don’t panic and they don’t give up. Someone always steps up. To play the springboks is hard but to play the best springbok team this century is truly daunting. England don’t need to be too hard on themselves. They are going to be a problem in 2027. This week they just came across a team that have forgotten how to lose and are the master of the last 20 minutes
England are a frustrating team to watch. They’re close to being a really good side but something isn’t working. Individual errors are costing them in attack and defence and there is a distinct lack of cohesion. We lose the ball inoffensive positions too frequently instantly putting our defence under pressure and giving opponents easy points. I feel this reflects the churn of coaches, especially in defence. I worry that our coaches aren’t world class in any area and it seems like an old-boys club. We are relying on individuals to make it happen rather than team plays. I’m going to keep faith though.
You can analyse all you like but the bottom line is England lack a nucleus of world class players with the ability to change a game with a moment of skill. Smith is the only one in that category.
Smith is a masterful attacker and creative as they come.. he still can’t seem to manage a tight game, and he’s nearly at 40 caps now. He was running in circles like a headless chicken at the end, devoid of ideas. Few players are being found out at Test level.. Randall - his pass is not good enough. Freeman.. well, he’s great for Saints, but he’s not Will Jordan. Sleights attacked well but defensively poor, as may be expected with inexperience. I’m not sure on Ollie Lawrence either, even at his preferred 13, with more space, attack and defence was poor - but for sure, the centre partnership is still clunky. Congrats though Goodey !!
Regarding the lineout we should appreciate that South Africa have one of the best defensive line outs as well as attacking. Englands line outs plans had to be designed around that, trying to avoid the opposition’s strengths. They will learn a lot from this experience
The low-risk plan was pretty well executed, secured a few penalties, but as Goodie said makes it very hard to launch an attack from. End up running Early as first receiver to get some front foot
England's defence is so bad. Genge was scorched by the SA 9. Not his fault, but a prop shouldn't have been there. Later Kolbe was left unmarked in a wide channel leaving Steward with too much ground to cover. England didn't protect their no9 at the base of rucks which lead to charge downs.
Everybody raves about smith, but he was tired 20 minutes to go and made many mistakes. He cannot long kick he cannot long pass and in fact he very rarely passes. He looks great because he trys to do it all himself instead of organizing his team and driving them thats his job and he is not that good at it.

I think England played well. SA were uncohesive. Power wise SA just muscled their way to victory. SA individually won that game. England asleep marking kolbe. The only time libbok did anything useful.
Why isn't anyone saying it how it is? 1. England don't have the squad depth and quality in all positions, our poor bench highlights this. 2. We can't defend and are lightweight in the backs, all teams keep spreading it wide and scoring tries for fun. 3. We lack an inspirational, alpha leader and captain who will kick ass if the team aren't doing what they are supposed to do. 4. Nice guys finish last, English people are too polite, we need to win ugly sometimes, and get into opponents heads, look at Rassie.
England have tons to be positive about .For starters Marcus Smith probably best nr 10 in the World right now ..They look just a few yards off the pace ..Very few ...Boks depth but more importantly experience pulled this off ...Give England time ...as a Bok fan we get having to be patient and frankly went thru the exact same process in Rassies early year or two .He had a 50% win record .Same as Borthwick..If I can be critical, Steve Borthwick cannot tie Rassies shoelaces when it comes to communicating these processes in a brutally honest way thereby buying time with the fans and of course media .. Borthwick is a closed book Needs to open it a bit methinks ..
They boys say correctly restarts are becoming increasingly important. Referees never manage the kick off properly. Accordingly players are frequently over the line and ahead of the kicker the moment the ball is kicked. Thereby gaining an advantage. Watch it please refs!
England you gave us a good run to the point where i stopped watching. Borthwick must just stop trying to copy Rassie. He will never be Rassie. Borthwick must bring his experiences to the team not the boks experiences. Good luck word on the street Cheka next in line after Borthwick's contact end after this tour
In the end the only difference was the genius of one or two players in a team. In this case it was Kolbe. Every team should have Kolbe, Dupont. Ex factor, individual brilliance.

THREE BLATANT NO TRIES! Knock on overlooked - England first try. Brutal off the ball tackle on Labock by England overlooked - England second try. Forward pass by England overlooked - England third try. Has this something to do with the multi-billion $ betting industry or as per normal, bias towards South Africa? Not to mention the 'forward pass' try denied South Africa!!!
Sure, I also thought there was inconsistency in the officiating and I understand that it's difficult to be gracious in defeat, but at least let's try and be gracious in victory.
Don't do that, be sad, be angry, be disappointed BUT don't do that, it makes you look bitter and ugly..... Springboks won because they were the better team on the day, don't become like the All Black's who becomes THAT when they loose, when we lost to Ireland and Argentina we too could have picked all the decisions that went against us, but the difference between South African supporters when we lose we BLAME our team for their purformance try it, it helps you sleep better
@@jkmb5758 one plus one equals two. If we overlook that and go for one plus three quarter equals two, no matter how gracious that may sound, it will negative impact the greater truth.

Yeh you spoke for 30 mins, a critique of england without mentioning the game plan or borthwick
england back's dreadful defending absolutely dreadful.
I’d take anyone over Borthwick.
Talking kak, Jasper is our first choice 8
Four world cups!
In the end the only difference was the genius of one or two players in a team. In this case it was Kolbe. Every team should have Kolbe, Dupont. Ex factor, individual brilliance.
Watching England kick away possession feels like Elon Musk making big moves with Twitter/X-sometimes it works brilliantly, other times… not so much. The reports of Musk's demise have been greatly exaggerated, like we've seen. He brought Tesla back from the brink, let's hope the same is true for England and Steve Borthwick!
Poor referee, he should’ve worn all white, all decision were reversed after highlights
That's the best game he had in years
THREE BLATANT NO TRIES!
😂... slightly biased analysis
Sad man
England's tackling has been poor .
Without Marcus Smith - this English team offer nothing in attack. Too reliant on his individual brilliance
England or Engshit
