I think everyone who subscribes to your channel really appreciates the effort and thought you put into the topics of your weekly videos (that go beyond PWMs or planner set ups). Thank you.
Having a structure for marking different information is so helpful! I have never thought about creating that headings chart. I will do it now. It’s genius! Also, there’s another way to separate the headings from the body of text. I used to make my uni notes with just one pen. For the heading one I would use all capitals and I would circle it, for heading two I would use an underlined cursive. Of course, there’s a lot of room to play there. The consistent use of marking is the key. Love the video. Thank you.
Thank you for the simple easy tips for decor and color scheme. Often we get overwhelmed and i I appreciate your channel because I come here to help find ways to keep my planner design simple but cute.
I just watched this video for I think the 3rd time and something just clicked - the color of the paper in my hobonichi cousin lends itself best to a warm color palatte! This explains why I'm always frustrated trying to make it look nice, I prefer cool colors and they look so much more beautiful in the brighter white of my Leuchtturm journals. I love my cousin and I'm switching to a Sterling Ink for 2024, so I'm going to have to adjust my colors ... or make peace with what my favorite colors look like on a slightly creamy paper.
STICKERS AND WASHI TAPE the easiest way to make it look good, as well as having a theme w/ a nice color pallette along the markers, stickers, and washi. I have seen people make theme ideas where there are a ton of colors, but my themes are usually yellow flowers, rain and frogs (green and blue), red mushrooms, with just 1-2 colors.
@@RachelleinTheory rain and frogs is very cute. I haven't dome any themes multiple times yet tho. I probably will bc I am scared to "waste" stickers and washi so I have lots left to use.
Wow! Your system really makes sense! Your examples helped me see that I've kinda been doing the color pallette and headings thing in my Cousin without realizing it. Using your idea to narrow the color choices for pen, highlighter and washi means I can stop hauling so many pens, etc. around with me!😮 Thanks ever so much for your practical approach!
My work planner was literally just a black pen plus a fountain pen with italic nib and coloured ink for headers - looked smart and professional but easy to read! I like more colour on my personal planner, but agree that a simple colour palette is the way to go - I don't want it to look like a unicorn pooped on the page 🤣
This is what I love about my Cousin - occasionaly i have a day where I want that over the top unicorn-poop look, so I open up to a daily page and go nuts. I haven't messed up my planning for all the other days when I usually want something simple.
Love what great advice you give!! Absolutely love your videos. I always take something from your videos and use! Thank you for always sharing your advice!!
This is the video I've been wanting! When I've searched for this type of info on youtube the videos I can find are all very fancy/artsy - I want mine to look somewhat nice but without a lot of effort or creativity (of which I have none.) I love how you always emphaisize function first, and point out how the "looking pretty" elements can help with function and not get in the way.
thank you Tory!! Yeah, it was important to me to create something that was more principle based and not so much, "just be an artist." lol. Thanks for watching and commenting :)
This is exactly what I've been doing since I noticed that the internal need to keep my pages pretty blocked me from using them when I didn't have the right supplies on hand. I now choose a color for the months, put 2-3 pens in that range in my EDC, and just use them for pretty headers
I'm more of a bullet journaler, but I find your videos very useful! 🥰 Especially the one about goal planning when anxious about it, it went on my Organisation tips playlist 😊
Great video - thank you! I've been working with just a pen and toning highlighter for a year or so, and love it. I never use stickers, and only rarely use washi, just a vintage Sarasa and toning Tombo or Mildliner. I draw little designs/patterns over the highlighter stripe where I've used it to mark off an area, so kinda creates a washi-like line if that makes sense? It only takes five minutes to set up my next week, and I generally use the same combo for a month then pick another colour pair for the next month. I am in no way arty, but I can manage a few squiggles! 😁
One of my joys is to do something new every month and week. Which also uses up at least some of my embarassment-of-riches of washi and stickers. Sometimes, I use a matching ink, but mostly a black pen. Black goes with everything. ;)
I am monochromatic everywhere else in my life. For some reason, in my planners, I like the different pops of color in the same spread. But there is nothing wrong with being consistent within a certain spread so I really appreciate your tips in this video. Thank you 📔

I fully agree as a fellow subscriber. Rachelle has a very systematic approach and explains her approach well. 📔

I'm so glad that it helps!! This was exactly what I hoped someone would get out of it :)
Hi Rachelle I love the tip of using a monochromatic color pallet. I’m going to give it a try soon.

So have we all Glenda!! Glad it could help.
Excellent video. So glad I found your channel.

wait rain and frogs. this sounds so cute. Love that you have some go to themes as well!

Super helpful!!! I wish I knew this when I was using a bujo. It would have helped with the “messiness”.

This was incredibly helpful. I just started a B5 notebook, and I’m really overwhelmed with all the space. This definitely gave me some ideas.
Yay Debbie! Excited for you on your b5 journey.

This info was very helpful. Thank you!

Meanwhile, me: "Let's decorate the planner!" "Do you have anything to plan?" "Not really, no... but look at this it's so cute!!!!" xD
😂😂😂

"Black goes with everything" THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYIN'!!! 😂
@@RachelleinTheory 🤣
where do you get opaque washi? I tried to get washi to cover the headings but they show through and that doesn't look good!
I wouldn't mind seeing a video about your tarot deck collection though ❤😊 but an interesting video, as usual 😊❤
I use washi on my fu… tombows to distinguish between soft & had nibs.
hahah I also have stuck a strip of washi around my soft tip fudenosuke so I can distinguish it 😂
Sometimes, not looking nice makes it look the best. I love those full messy planners that look used and loved. Decorated planners is too much for me.
So true ♥️
Interested to know if the grey bars each day are your work day or available time or productive time as they change each day?
It's actually my intermittent fasting! Availability and productive time is a great idea to track in that way though.
I am so new to journaling that I don't even know where and how to start 🤦♀🤦♀🤦♀🤦♀🤦♀🤦♀🤦♀🤦♀🤦♀🤦♀
My handwriting is shit. So my planner looks okay- ish. I made my peace with it. Ish
