Your vocabulary is great and I'm impressed by how you form complex sentences with proper Grammar, syntax and verb structure. Recommend focusing on your accent moving forward. If you start working on the accent too late you might get stuck with bad habits that are extra hard to change once you have used them for months and months.
What do you recommend to help with the accent? Im in the beginning stages of learning Swahili on Duolingo and deffinelty have a hard time with pronouncing things that start with the same letter like "ni nani" I would love the get the accent right at the beginning!
Get a native to practise with.
@@davidmureithi7860 mwambie!
@@brittanyvanosdall7577 still learning Swahili? I am also learning but I am at a very basic level.
Instead of saying “watu wa massai” you can say “wamassai”
That means Massai people. I am from Botswana and self-learning Swahili in TH-cam.
Though this is 2 years down the line your Swahili is great. Being a teacher who teaches Swahili as a foreign language I must say this was impressive .
ironic how the first viewer is a fluent swahili speaker.
the first clip he entered “i like chicken” 😂
Very
Love from Tanzania ✊🏾..currently learning German..wish me luck
Currently in Canada and I'm thinking of learning french for the first time in my life. Grew up in east africa and swahili comes pretty natural to me same to English and a little bit of mother tongue. I hope I find amazing french classes
You should check out the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) where you can learn swahili and many many other languages for 8 weeks over the summer for free!
Where is this?
Swahili has a lot of short forms that can mean a lot of words
Welcome again to Tanzania 🇹🇿, because most and I can say all of Tanzanians speak pure Swahili it will be more easy to catch up Swahili and you can visit mount Kilimanjaro too

Great video, really enjoy your content!
I'm from Kenya and you are actually good unlike many Kenyans who can't speak fluent swahili but mix it with English and their local languages. HONGERA
Do Yale offer Swahili as an elective subject so you can continue with it? It would be a shame to lose what you have learnt.
Very true
A native Swahili speaker here from Kenya. You are doing great
You did an awesome Job !! Hongera sana ...
Umeongea vizuri kaka.hongera!!!Actually you are preety good at this keep on going
Uko vizuri kaka!
Firstly before i watch your thumbnail is amazing
Amazing accomplishment 😁
Hongera Sana👍🏼
That beat with j cole was 🔥
Really impressive! You mentioned Duolingo isn’t good for Swahili, are there any apps or learning programs that you would recommend (besides Swahili dictionaries etc)?
Can you please make a video of what all of the music is in your intro videos? You always play the best songs but, I don’t know any of them.
You sound like native speaker, your fluency is good brother,, I'm native speaker of swahili from Tanzania
Umefanya vizuri uko sawa
U did well u r good to go
Your Kiswahili is really nice "shwari kabisa" considering you learnt it in only 2 months. Hongera!! (Congrats!!)
Kweli kabisa
Swahili sounds nice. Languages connect the world.
You’re Swahili is very good! I’m very impressed. With more practice, your accent will be better!!
👏🏿 umejitahidi kaza buti
Very good your Kiswahili is perfect
You did very well, vizuri sana alama saba kati ya kumi. Karibu tena Kenya Africa Mashariki
i am proud of you
You did very good
You're good.
As a native Nguni speaker, I already know a good portion of kiswahili without learning or having met anyone who speaks the language. Africa is one. Camagu.
Is it really that easy? I'm considering learning it.
Asante!
Umefanya vizuri sana. Mie najifunza kidogo kidogo pia, kwasababu mizaliwa ulaya na sijui swahili vizuri!
am gonna give you a 2+, asante sana Josh kwa kujifunza kiswahili, make one of the east African countries you vacation destination and i would suggest Kenya for you, so you can also improve your swaili accent. Trust me, even though you speak the language. Some local residents will take some few time to get to understand what you are saying. Again HONGERA Josh
I'm learning swahili as well...
Any tips, the person is going to start learning kiswahili faster like you?
Josh your the best "karibu Tanzania" the source of swahili
Sounds like Hungarian. To be honest as a Hungarian according to my Tanzanian friends I sound native when I read. It’s kinda easy for me. I guess really depends what is your first language.
Jambo jambo! Salama!!

I am a native Spanish speaker. I am also learning Swahili. Napenda kujifunza
How did you apply for the program?
That was amazing infact its better than mine grammatically 😁
You speak good Swahili even though the accent sounds weird 😅, but noun classes, you still need to work on them.
As a native Swahili speaker who speaks English and Russian.
I would say noun classes are the hardest thing in Swahili. I don't even understand how I get it correct everytime.
I have never met a person who learnt Swahili and gets them correct everytime.
You don't have to say "ninapenda" say "napenda" instead. I'm from Tanzania
Is it a more formal way of speaking?
I’d say ‘napenda’ is sufficient
There is no course where you learn tu say it as you suggest. It is not bad to start not using these shortcuts when learning a new language.
@@MonDieuMaCauseMonEpee yeah
@@HollandHiking actually I learned that in a program from Language Transfer website. It gets that out the way in the first 4 or 5 lessons using ninataka to 'nataka. Or "Na mimi to Na mi" etc
I am a Kenyan
Najaribu kujifunza kiswahili pia. Naelewa kabisa changamoto ya hili. Changamoto kubwa bado ni kuwa na fursa ya kuizungumza katika ulimwengu wa kweli.
Don’t forget Kiswahili just find people in part of world to Conversations with in Swahili so you don’t forget but you’re very good in your Swahili and if it only took you two months well done very good Kiswahili
Ngeli.... ndio ngumu eti.... hahah....I guess the ngeli (noun classes)will be the easiest part for all African Bantus...eg .. mtu=watu.
Kitu=vitu...
Etc...
You are progressing very well...You still have a slight mzungu accent.
I literally speak the language
i was born in kenya but barley speak swahili

Google translate is alright for swahili today
What’s up Josh
lol wish I saw you ...yr Swahili is pretty good ..coming from someone who has known it for her whole life😂
Si kwa ubaya lakini napenda french kushinda Kiswahili.
Sometimes Google gives wrong swahili
Try watching Netflix with swahili subtitles 🤣🤣🤣
There is still a very heavy accent and you still need to work on your pronunciation because I still had to read your subtitles in order to understand you. But you are trying and you have learnt a lot 👏🏾👏🏾
It flyrod

Haha good job man. You’ve tried.
Wait. It’s a critical language?
He said most of Eastern Africa speaks it. Africa is the second largest continent on the planet.
Harry Shindika there about 100 million people who speak it in east Africa
I know I'm Tanzanian. Neber thought it would ne considered a critical language

Tanzanian Kiswahili is the best.
?
@@Younghustla1 the swahili Kenyans speak is watered down so it's not exactly swahili so we call it kiswahilo
Kiswahili is kiswahili. Tanzanians major in Kiswahili and minor in English. Kenyans major in both, so there was bound to be a middle somewhere. But when necessary, we Kenyans speak it just as well as you do. Love both countries, no competition
@@neontrees3360 Wacha kujipendekeza, There is Kiswahili and there is Sheng, huge diff. Kenyans speak both depending on the context of the person they are speaking to and area code, kinda like code switching.
