    When Predator wasn't hunting humans, he had a very jolly time at the museum

    I’ve taken a few cameras (a DSLR and a mirrorless) apart to remove the IR and UV band-block filters. That also gives an interesting look if you instead put an IR pass filter on the front of the lens. As you said, it’s incredibly tight. There were screws left over for both cameras. In the mirrorless I accidentally shattered the ultrasonic transducer which errored out the camera until you turn off the “clean on boot” option. Props to anyone who circuit bends these.

    Trippy camera! The video effect Reminds of the Prodigy’s Out Of Space video from the early 90’s. I once took apart my old Medion Aldi camera as it was broken. Taking it apart is one thing but putting it back together….. it was a one way trip to camera heaven for that Medion camera.

    Reminds me of 80's pop music video effects (I saw as a whipper snapper) when a TV company/studio will have spent the price of an average house on it (approx £30k in the 80's - approx £75-80k in 2022) and then just pressed loads of buttons and watched the madness that appeared on the 9 CRT video wall on Top of the Pops. I fkn love it!
    A camera dissected & fitted onto a sheet of plexiglass with the lens facing outwards and controls on the outside would be interesting to see. I'd mess with something like that!

    "Experimental Modified Digital Camera" sounds like the title of an SCP article. Then the camera does something crazy, like photograph events in the future, or extra dimensional beings or something.

    This is great idea!!! I do have a lot of discarded digital cameras

    Would you be interested in some older thermal camera modules - they aren't antique and still perform as well as high end models today. They do have analog video out (haven't managed to get digital out or control at all). They do have some history like originating from a 82m oligarch yacht...
    They are just laying around because I don't have the skills, experience or tools to get them working for what I wanted to.
    My mom had a digital point and shoot at had a swap colors options which I played with a lot as a kid. Reminds me of some artistic photos I shot a while ago.

    I would be very happy if you were to film all of your videos with this camera from now on!

    I feel like most if these effects can be done afterwards (in Photoshop/Premiere Pro with curves adjustment) with more control over the result. Without knowing how the bends work the result might not be exactly the same, but if you analyse the circuit then that might also be possible.

      not the same as experimenting in camera though ...

    • @robinte98
      @robinte98 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hughchapman5319 but thats even better in my opinion, because you can always remove the effect completely. These effects aren't high quality anyways.
