It didn't occur to me until yesterday that this song is literally about the BMI tech in the Starset universe, how the BMI's "promise" to give the individual everything they ever wanted via synthetic pleasures. And another thing is the dynamic symbol of this track evechanging and swaying in the position of a pendulum to finally reaching its zenith in the shape of a heart lining up all three circles. The BMI's shape is visually represented by three circles lined up. This visual representation in this dynamic symbol makes me think the BMI is on the surface: hypnosis/suggestion but really at its core is pure subjugation and manipulation of the "heart" or in this case an individual's mind. Late night epiphanies are wonderful.

In my opinion the "Perfect Machine" isnt an object, its YOU. Or rather, the idea of having to shell your true feelings and emotions from the one you love. Lying to yourself and faking your emotions enough to convince both you and your partner into believing that you're both happy. In my eyes that is what makes you the PERFECT MACHINE. "I don't want you to see who I truly am, so here, pour your heart into this. It's not the real me, but we can PRETEND that it is so that we can both be happy" Sound like anyone?
Sadly I think it relates to a lot of us. I know I just lost the person who I thought was my everything until she told me differently. But after looking back I see how ignorant I was to ignoring the signs of her never being interested.
I thought the same thing. Even if that's not the true meaning, I'll still probably believe it is. I love how interpretations can make songs you love even more relatable and enjoyable.

Beyond the sound of their incredible music, I really love that Starset's songs is because they each feel like they have a real story behind them, one that really makes you think. A sort of hidden message. I think the "perfect machine" the song talks about is some sort of technology that lets people see what they want to see, either a virtual reality device of some kind, mind control, or a mixture of both. It lets people live out their deepest fantasies, hence the line "I'm a liar without deceiving" but when we get to the line "I will choose it to protect you from me, I will never let you see what's beneath". I think this song is about how we put up walls and hide our true self, and try to be what we think people want. But by trying to change we lose ourselves. So the perfect machine isn't perfect afterall and keeps people apart.

I wish there was an acoustic version of this. The violin in this is too beautiful to be covered up by those heavy guitar riffs, though this is still one of my top favorites.
The best part about this some for me that I don’t see anyone talking about even so long after it’s release is the escalation. The way the lyrics are performed and the way the music itself evolves throughout the song. Turn it up, sit back and listen to it’s growth. It becomes an irresistible chorus that grows in intensity and majesty. Starset is a band of dedicated and obviously invested people. Every song has soul and purpose, it is masterful.
Es definitivo esta banda es la personificacion del exito musical. La lirica, la combinacion y armonizacion de sonidos es tan exquisita que da temor y a su vez alegria.

"First we abdicated our minds to pieces of silicon that promised to expand our views of the world, problem is that what came with them was a false idea, a malignant eidolon that became one of the keys to our undoing. Then while our minds were scrambled and our wills were undone thread by thread we abdicated our hearts to synthetic loves and synthetic chemicals. Finally after we had tossed so much of ourselves aside was the truth revealed. We were so dependent upon what was supposed to be the tools of our ascension that we failed to realize that we had become slaves in all but name." -Unknown
I can not get enough of this music, and I’m not really a guy who’s into music. Every song is just an absolute banger. I’ve been listening to STARSET nonstop for two years now and I’m still not sick of it. How is it even possible to make music this foos.
I think this song is sung from the perspective of the BMI itself. And if the song is supposed to bring you into the world of the ARCHITECTURE, it certainly does the trick. This song is so good, I haven’t been able to get it out of my head once in the eight months since its release.

Saw you yesterday in Milan and it was incredible! I couldn't believe it when you started playing Perfect Machine, that's my favorite song of all the time! Hope to see you again soon 🤍
This was my ex's favorite song. Mine was Human by dodie. Recently I noticed how beautifully complementary those songs are if you consider them as the perspectives of each partner in a toxic relationship and I can't stop thinking about it. (I'll use him and her because that's the singer's pronouns and it's simpler to write ok, I'm not even straight.) One starts with "I wanna pick you up and scoop you out , I want the secrets your secrets haven't found", while the other starts with "Show me your insides, show me your secrets, show me what you desire, I can fake it" So you have this idea of her to figure him out organically, this craving for intimacy and being true to one another, while he wants to artificially shape the situation into what she'd like it to be through means that don't involve any vulnerability on his side. 'Paint me in trust, I'll be your best friend'' "I didn't want you, I wanna watch you change from a butterfly and into chains", how differently they see each other, how they want something entirely different from that relationship, how unilateral it is. "Lean for me and I'll fall back, you'll fit so nicely you'll keep me intact" and "Lay your heart into my perfect machine, I will show you what you wanted to see" as if she'll desperately hold on to whoever she finds and he agreed to play that role. Like she's searching for words of comfort and he'll just say whatever she wants to hear, not even knowing if he means it, leading to a toxically codependant situation. "Unzip your skin and let me have a see" and "I will never let you see what's beneath", again, vulnerability. He doesn't want anyone to get too close and that's the one thing she wants the most, the one thing he won't give her. "I want to give you your grin, so tell me you can't bear a room that I'm not in, call me the one, this night just can't end" and "Even you know this was all for nothing, just a sad show, just an ego, I suppose though, as far as I know we were both pretending, I suppose so, but what do I know" as if to say, "this meant everything to me", "We both know that's a lie". "I loved you", "No, you didn't. You loved the idea we made of me in your head." Like she wrote herself a fairy tale and cast him in the main role, and wasn't he the best actor in town? The very opposition of "I'm so human, we're just human" and the perfect machine, and how the music itself expresses it, how dodie's voice is so soft and organic while Dustin's so sharp and clear, and don't even get me started on how beautifully harmonized each element on those songs are and how they reflect all of this. _Just the vibes bro,, the vibes._ Given the difference in style, I'm probably the only one who noticed, so I had to share. I could go on, but to sum it up, I'm really glad I got out of that relationship.

Starset: yo lets make another bomb album
This is probably the greatest comment I've ever seen
Horizon is out now
The animation is a Stick figure using really big binoculars. You can't unsee this.
PETERBOSS94 I don’t like you right now... ahhhhhhh I can’t unsee it
ahem.
*_no._*
How very dare you
Why did you have to say that
why are you like this
2:19 These are the sweetest phrases...
EXCELENTE MUSICA, EXCELENTE BANDA, ¡EXCELENTE TODO!. LA MEJOR MÚSICA PARA MIS OÍDOS
EXCELLENT MUSIC
EXCELLENT BAND
EXCELLENT EVERYTHING!
THE BEST MUSIC FOR MY EARS
It’s honestly criminal how I haven’t heard of this bands music until now
I wish there was an acoustic version of this. The violin in this is too beautiful to be covered up by those heavy guitar riffs, though this is still one of my top favorites.
Starset's songs have such a unique vibe to me. Truly special.
i'm actually tearing up at this song, jesus christ. How can you guys consistently maintain this level of quality? I am beyond speechless.
3:40 LAY YOUR HEART INTO MY PERFECT MACHIIIINE I WILL USE IT TO PROTECT YOU FROM MEEEEEE
0:49, that transition is to die for...
Absolutely. I always start the entire song over just to hear that part. I love the chorus in the beginning more than the other two for some reason.
I discovered starset because I was listening to random songs on Spotify, I fell in love with the voice and the music, just perfect
Tu si sabes!
You can almost hear unbecoming at certain points, I love it.
True
It feels good when you close your eyes and listen to this.
ever since this song came out i became obsessed with it. it's been 4 years and it still is one of my favorite songs ever. also how are they soooo good at making bridges
We were so dependent upon what was supposed to be the tools of our ascension that we failed to realize that we had become slaves in all but name."

I can not get enough of this music, and I’m not really a guy who’s into music. Every song is just an absolute banger. I’ve been listening to STARSET nonstop for two years now and I’m still not sick of it. How is it even possible to make music this foos.
One part of the chorus reminds me a lot of the chorus on Unbecoming, "cauterized and atrophied"
He's voice, awwwwww. I love it so much.
My life is not nearly epic or grand enough to deserve these songs
Kitkat915e i felt that tbh
Kitkat915e play something like halo or doom while this plays in the background. Trust me
This song is so good, it portrays the villain’s point of view in subtle deception.
PERFECTION (NO PUN INTENDED)
This vibrato at 0:24 😍 I didn’t use to notice it, but now I do and cant help listening to it
This song has a creepy edge that I absolutely love!
I think this song is sung from the perspective of the BMI itself. And if the song is supposed to bring you into the world of the ARCHITECTURE, it certainly does the trick. This song is so good, I haven’t been able to get it out of my head once in the eight months since its release.
When that guitar hits mannn. Too good just too good.
How can a band with music so perfect exist? And why did I not discover them sooner?
May god bless you starset
This is still my favorite Starset song of all time. The progression of the song and the story the music tells is mind blowing
Hell yes! I love every second of this album so far!! Thank you!
Yeahh🔥🔥🔥
Perfect Machine = Artificial Happiness
Idk about yall, but to me this screams ADDICTION. And being that I'm currently in recovery and in the middle of an Awakening, I could not have found this song a more perfect time.
I feel like Starset is one of those bands that needs to be way more popular than they are.
Yeah! Also hello fellow furry
I'm amazed with this whole album best thing to happen in 2019
And it's been a downfall ever since!
@Salil Jajoo still going down...
Just a heads up its also the best thing to happen in 2023 🤣🤣🤣
the whole song is a masterpiece ofc, but the violin on 3:32 and on is soooo deep it is even indescribable i just go into other world everytime i hear it
thanks starset you guys are amazing
Im not really sensitive when it comes to music but this song really make me wanna cry. I've never cried at all for music but this song MIGHT release some of my precious tears one day....
Gosh, I love this song so much, one of my all-time favorites from STARSET! 👀 Perfection! 💜
A new friend of mine from a Meetup told me about this group. I love the strategy to this sound. Hard rocking metal with symphonic instruments as an enhancer.
This album is a perfection. This is my favorite of the album.
Another 10/10 banger album. Simply amazing
My fav too... this album's a 12/10. Love it
Starset Fans: nothing can top the last album
Starset: ... Hold my telescope
Kierstie Miller , thank you! The telescope makes more sense 😄
Perfect!!!! This like telescope 2.0 lol it makes me feel the same way... LOVE IT!
hold my satellite lol
Why does your profile pic look like imaqtpie's on twitch? lol
It didn't though. I mean, don't get me wrong, I really enjoy this album, but at least imo, Vessels is better by leaps and bounds.
I clicked Like before i watched because is Starset they never disappoint 👌
Alexander Licea I used to think that about Starset until this album released. Now I know better.
This specific song hits much different than the others, I guess it’s just the lyrics I relate to or that THIS BAND IS THE BEST I’VE HEARD.
reminds of telescope a little bit
sounds so god damn AMAZING!!!!
I LOVE IT, YOU GUYS ROCK 💙🤍🖤
i'm not a very like detailed fan
but i love you guys so much i lose it when i see a notification of a new song
"There is a silencing as the machine arrives here" This song reminds me of that verse from Gravity Of You.
They really can't make anything bad, can they? 4 songs in and I'm just absolutely amazed, another fantastic job you guys if you see this comment!
Saw you yesterday in Milan and it was incredible!
I couldn't believe it when you started playing Perfect Machine, that's my favorite song of all the time!
Hope to see you again soon 🤍
So. Much. Emotion.
Seldom have I experienced a vocalist transport this kind of raw and pure emotion with his voice.
🖤
This gives off an eerie vibe but I'm digging the lyrics.
The most haunting song on the album
This was my ex's favorite song. Mine was Human by dodie. Recently I noticed how beautifully complementary those songs are if you consider them as the perspectives of each partner in a toxic relationship and I can't stop thinking about it. (I'll use him and her because that's the singer's pronouns and it's simpler to write ok, I'm not even straight.)
One starts with "I wanna pick you up and scoop you out
, I want the secrets your secrets haven't found", while the other starts with "Show me your insides, show me your secrets, show me what you desire, I can fake it"
So you have this idea of her to figure him out organically, this craving for intimacy and being true to one another, while he wants to artificially shape the situation into what she'd like it to be through means that don't involve any vulnerability on his side.
Thanks for sharing, I would have never known that song if it wasn't for this comment. On another note, I hope you're doing well.
@@nataliag8690 I'm alright, and I fotgot that comment existed, glad you enjoyed it though
I have spoke of Starset to many of people who didn't know... This band will change your life !!! Everytime I hear any song of Starset's songs, I am transended into an inner dimension of life and understanding and humbleness !!! Takes my breath away !!!
The writing for this band is top tier.
My favorite song from the new album 🖤🖤🖤🖤
This is art in one of its truest forms. Magnificent. Well done my friends.
Hands down my favorite song of the ones released today but I absolutely love every song in the album!
3:37 is my favorite part😍 it’s just so good
Lay your heart into my perfect machine.....
These graphics make me want to watch the videos and not just have the music in the background. Wait.. Can I play this through my TV?
Edit: Yes. Yes I can. And yes, yes it is awesome.
I know, bruh,i first listened and watched this album on my TV.
My favourite song by STARSET. Dustin, legend, hidden xxx

My TH-cam says there hasn't been a comment in over a year so I'm commenting now to remind everyone that starset is a life altering band....every song.. every day..is amazing !!! By far my favorite band of all time. My personal interpretation of this music has changed my life and also saved it on many occasions... Thank you Starset for the beautiful music that you produce. Honestly Thank You .
the lyrics and vocals on this track is definitely the greatest out of all of the songs they have made
This song is so good! I'm glad that i brought this album!
This song is just... amazing. I really feel like it's a robot or machine that's thinking all this, to imitate something to be able to manipulate the person. Ugh just love this song so much. Great work!
