  • Join us on another junkyard adventure as we explore rusty, forgotten, classic cars in rural Indiana. We've discovered A LOT of cool old cars and bought A LOT of hard to find parts during various stages of our project cars. Unfortunately, this may be our last trip to Houghs, McAfee's,and Barnett's Salvage yards as I attempt to track down all the trim pieces to my 1966 Ford pickup. Per usual, rusty cars, junkyard dogs, and the passion for vintage automobiles!

We've gotten so many great parts at these yards, it's hard to move on. Notably the 1967 grille I put on the 1970 one ton and the tailgate guts for the 66 pickup. Oh, the front clip off that Packard too! Good times

My grandfather had a 74 maverick with a 351 and a 4 speed in it, that his neighbor talked him into(he owned the Ford dealership in town. He only kept it about 2 years because it was WAY too much power for him and shifting bothered his knee. My brother really wanted it, but he had a 71 Torino that was crazy fast, and he was in the Navy and couldn't afford it. I wish he had kept it because there couldn't have been many mavericks like that. If any. Sat on the showroom floor for almost 2 years.

That's a pretty good maverick story and I appreciate you sharing it! The maverick and I have a love/hate relationship... It was my first car so I loved it, but I failed miserably at working on it in so many ways.

@route40rust my first car was a 74 mustang II. Graduated from that to a 78 King Kobra. If I knew how rare that car was I would have kept it when I joined the army

I forgot the glovebox liner and you didn’t get the wiper arms and spacer...

Yes unfortunately junkyards like that have outlived their usefulness as far as getting big parts and sadly they will be so bad that they will be crushed since most of the useable parts are gone. Thanks for the junkyard tour. Over here in Northern Nevada we have Pick N Pull always much better of a layout for cars and parts. Thanks for the video.th-cam.com/video/bCHyM21VsfQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zmW3iW3zCHgZXiaI That's what I was doing today good times.

1:11:16 is that TWO 77-79 Caprices with the aero back window?! Those are probably worth a bunch.

I'll have to go back and check those out, at this point I was pretty sad about not finding that final trim piece so I kinda had my blinders on

That COE would probably go for a lot as is. But the prices have skyrocketed beyond the average persons reach
