Hey Fellas. Regarding 69 decals, the rolls found are the same format as the ones inserted into 69 packs. The copyright & black box is on our right. In 2001 , two exact 10k rolls were sold. Topps made 2 diff rolls (needed each roll to complete a 48 player set) . Players were assigned to either roll (not both) E.g. not a single Clemente, Allen, Mantle, Aaron, etc.. were in either roll). That’s why we see a ton more decals of Reggie, Yaz, Drysdale, Mays, & Seaver on eBay
Great topic guys. I have all the deckle edge cards including the extra two. Also have all the game cards, but my favorite are the 1970 inserts of the story booklets. I have the entire set and they look brand new. Love those! Thanks
68 Topps Game didn’t have a board. Rules on how to play were only on the back of boxed 33-card sets. Apparently, only issued only in 3rd series packs other than buying the boxed sets
Great hobby guys talking about obscure card stuff, sign me up forever. Fantastic show gentlemen, tons of info, lots of laughs. I'm ranking 1965 Embossed 13 out of 12. Absolutely hate that set with a white hot rage. 1962 Stamps, the color ones, I would rate much higher. And yes, Mark, I played Scratch Off!
Love the idea for this video. Theo you are breaking my heart as a Banks collector saying to get the Yogi magic rub off! Think you underrate the '69 decals because the photos are different than the '69s on a lot of them - shocking that Topps wasn't lazy using the same photo. My number 1 is the coins. This was a really fun watch.
Loved buying my first pack of cards and seeing the pinup inside. I don't remember seeing the insert that Mark showed with the 1968 game cards. We just laid out a lineup of payers on the table or floor and put the game cards on the players until we had 3 outs. Then shuffle for the next at bat. Nothing complicated. Topps coins were made by the Old London parent company Space Magic. Worst insert might be the 1960's Philadelphia Football.
Enjoyed this episode. 1960’s Topps had some great insert sets. 100% aligned to #1 being the pin-ups. Great discussion. Appreciate all “the research”. 😅
@@JohnMiller-jj9kx Thanks John! The 64 stand ups were actually in their own packs, so aren’t a pack insert. If they were an insert, I’d of had them at number 1!
Great video, guys! Alot of fun. Back then, whether a player was going to make the HOF was never a consideration when we collected. You wanted your favorite players and stars. But nobody ever valued a player or his card because he might make the HOF. Anyway, I largely agreed with your rankings!
@4CollectorsForCollectors Hey Theo! Well, it's a little bit more than that. It's just that we never looked for a card of any player who was in the hall of fame or might become a member of the hall of fame. It was never on our radar. Like I say, we wanted stars and favorite players. I think present-day collectors collect hall of famers because being in the hall translates to a card becoming more valuable. We never bought cards with any concern of what they might be worth in the future. All the best - Gannon
I know it is not Topps but the 1962 Salada Tea plastic baseball coins are a fun set to try and put together. I much prefer the '62 plastic set to the smaller '63 metal set.
Good video. Theo, I love your stuff but this was a bit hard to watch. Guess I was hoping for a little more information... I believe some of these inserts were regional. I opened many '69 packs with decals but never remember getting deckle edge cards in packs at least in Michigan. Thx
With only an hour to do this we couldn’t get to in depth. More of just a fun exercise of calling out and ranking. At some point I’d love to do an in depth revue
I love these 60’s insert sets. The only one I do not like is the foil one your guys number 11 ranking I just dont like it one bit 😂😂. Ok let me get back to it
What is your favorite Topps insert set of the 1960’s?
Great video
Thanks!

That’s some great information TJ, thanks for sharing!

We stopped at 69, so only did the 60’s…. But those are cool! Thanks for the kind words, and thanks for the comment!

That all adds up to me.
Thanks for keeping us honest TJ!

Awesome crew here! Love this discussion! Great stuff all day!
Glad you enjoyed it!
1964 topps coins. The first set of coins that I put together.
Thanks really cool! 😎

So happy you enjoyed it Dan! A lot of hate for the embossed out there, I appreciate the passion! Yeah I love these insert sets, they are fun!
Great episode guys! Now you got me looking at coins, here we go!
Haha, yes you need those Mantle coins!

Thanks Brad! Sorry about Banks, I misspoke, LOL! The coins are great, pinups just won by a hair!

Thanks for the factoids Stuke! I gotta look up that football insert set now!

Gave a video like. Great discussion, fun topic and video!
Great show guys, surprised the 64 standups only got one mention. My number 1 was your number 1, my number two is the 68 game cards. Thanks

I totally get your point there, people definitely had more allegiances to their home town team, then they do now. Thanks for watching! 😀

Great show guys. Gum was an insert. I would like to get John's top 10 gum inserts from the 1960s.
LOL, you and your gum!
Dick Groat should have mailed his MVP trophy to Willie Mays
I can’t argue, a lot of MVPs in the 60’s went to the wrong players.

Does Theo have the Clemente action all star sticker?
No 😞 Hope to get one, maybe one day

Ok what im learning is Theo has horrible taste in cards 😂😂😂😂
Deckle edge uuuugly like my moms scrap booking
I love that in 69’ they used the same photo as the normal card that to me makes it super epic
Great episode all around fun stuff even if we had different favorites 😜🤙🤙
